This was out first time here and we weren't sure what to expect. We hadn't heard too many people talk about it. The servers were incredibly helpful since we didn't know what to order and their menu has numerous choices. Thought that we would give it a try. We were pleaseantly surprised. We ordered a taco salad, chicken quesadilla, Mexican pizza, macho nacho grande, and a deluxe taco. We inhaled EVERYTHING!!!! The ground beef was great. Not greasy and full of flavor. Wow. My girlfriend had come here a year or so ago when on the coast and she wasn't impressed with it then. Well, we were just back and staying in OS and decided to pick up food on the way to our accommodations. We grew up with Taco Sombrero and typically go to the Hwy 49 location when back home. This location just seemed to be similar but things were just off. My enchilada dinner was bone dry. I don't think they gave us any knives, just forks and spoons. We received zero napkins in our bag. They also packaged both tamales together leading us to believe that we got shorted one. The folks working the window were nice enough but attention to detail does not appear to be their strong suit. read more

Newly opened in the OCS off Washington lays Taco Sombrero. I heard alot of hype of this place opening up and wanted to check it out to see what all the rave is about. I know they got a location in Biloxi and Gulfport as well. Everytime I drive by the restaurant it is super crowded with cars and people going in and out. Came in on a Friday for lunch and the restaurant looked packed with people so decided to go through the drive through. They have a fairly large menu with all sorts of platters ranging from tacos, burritos, and enchiladas. There was only 1 car in front of me in the drive through and by the time I drove in and ordered I was out within 5 minutes receiving my food. The enchilada platter was huge with 4 beef enchilads and it comes with rice and beans and also a side of shredded lettuce,tomatoes, and guacamole. Everything tasted good but the tortillas didnt seemed cooked just seemed as if they came out of the wrapper and was rolled in ground beef and topped with sauce and cheese. The beans and rice were failry good but nothing to go crazy about. It also came with chips but the amount they give was a joke I literally got 3 chips in a bag. The bean burrito was your typical bean burrito you would recieve at a fast food joint with beans cheese and some onions. The thing I noticed most was how the flour tortilla wasnt warm just room temperature. The small nachos were just about 6 chips with a tablespoon on nacho cheese sauce and 3 jalepeno peppers. Overall Its fast food so really cant complain that much but im sure it would taste better if they handled the small stuff as in keep hot foods hot and cold foods cold. Ill definently be back to try some of there other menu items and try dining in. read more

Good food just like I remember growing up on the Coast( usually go to the Hwy 49 location) but was pleasantly surprised to see this newer location on the way to our hotel in Biloxi. The worst food I've ever eaten. I ordered the steak chimichanga plate with a side of white cheese sauce. Although I'm not foolish enough to believe this is "authentic" Mexican or Tex-Mex the fact is it's terrible food. The flavors are extremely bland. The rice was very very bad. I am not a fan of Taco Bell but I would rather eat there than this place. *as a side note .. the owner responded to my FB review saying the picture showed the white sauce on top and they don't sell it like this..as if that will significantly alter the taste?! Lol. Also they didn't like that my picture didn't show that i ate any of it. Trust me..most of it was in the trash. They can look in their dumpster if they want to see it. read more

I love taco sombrero. I Always visit the one on Hwy 49. Last night I went to the one on washington Ave. It started off horrible when the agent re asked me for my order when I got to the window. I knew my food would be rushed then. He mentioned the screen erased the order. They never gave me my drink. And while on the passenger side of the car I go to eat a taco and the taco is basically cold. Meat semi warm taco cold as ice. my Bueno Dinner had no sauce.It was a taco with a dap of sauce and cheese. Most dry Bueno dinner i ever had. This place is horrible. The refried beans tasted like they were reheated several times. My son complained that he had to spit small bones out of his meat while trying to eat his taco. This used to be one of my favorites. They gave a lot of food and the prices were reasonable. Plus, they had a bar that had sauces, etc, that was unlimited. Well, no more. The food is mediocre and no longer plentiful. I ordered a taco salad and had to look for the meat. I really think they put 1/4 cup of meat on this - and the price was about what you'd pay at a regular restaurant that actually gives you chips and dip to go with it! Also, I realized that my husband had forgotten to ask for the dressing to go on it. When I pointed this out, the guy behind the counter charged me .80 apiece! for 1/8th a cup of dressing. (You know those tiny cups that they give). I paid an extra 1.76 or so to put a dressing on a salad!! Who charges for dressing for a salad? I realize that times are tough - but that toughness actually extends to the rest of the population and this was sad. There was no lack of business and the businesses got stimulation loans so there was no excuse! I will not be back any time soon - especially not until they add the condiment bar back and "beef back up" the taco salad, something which was what was attractive to begin with. read more

Taco Sombrero is basically a 5 star Taco Bell. And I mean that in the best way possible. Super quick. Food is absolutely delicious. The chicken quesadilla and frijoles is my go to order and it's more than enough to fill you up- for $5! It was very disappointing. It was my first visit at the drive thru. The order board menu advertised white cheese sauce covered Chimichanga on the dinner menu. After I arrived home with my food the Chimichanga was covered in regular cheese sauce. This made it taste entirely different. It was gross. The Chimichanga was bland and had a gummy texture. Unfortunately I can not give less than one star. The employee that was working was super sweet though. But the food my gosh. Hurt my wallet and my mouth in the worst way. First off the "steak" meat on my steak taco was grey. For the price I paid I said wth & took chance. Yes I took a bite of the mystery meat and immediately gagged. This meat substance had no season no flavor there were a few black specs what I assumed to be pepper? Honestly thought I would be in the ER if I swallowed it so I spit it out. Next I tried my quesadilla. Yes I know what your thinking I must be crazy. I am but I didn't want to rule this place out just yet. and I was hungry so there's that. So I open the bag my quesadilla was in and the amount of grease that had soaked my tortilla was sickening. However I'm hungry and thinking how I spent too much money at this point I decided to try it, yes you guessed it was nasty af. If you can't tell I have to touch the fire to make sure it's hot. Also my medium drink was TWO dollars. What in the hell. I won't go into details about my kids food well because I didn't make them even try it. I didn't want to risk us all rushing to the shitter at once. I will never go back here. I haven't eaten Taco Bell since college. But I used to get the deal 4. Idk if they even have that anymore but it was bomb af a super cheap. & I would eat Taco Bell or even a gas station hot dog over this place.
