Looking for an authentic Mexican Restaurant with very affordable prices in Southern Mississippi? Look no further than Coco Loco! Just north of I-10, take exit 68 and head north on 63 for less than 1/2 mile (just beyond the Red Roof Inn) and you will discover this amazing taste of Mexico. From the street (see my picture), it is underwhelming--BUT WAIT!--inside it is clean and friendly. The decor is simple Mexican with friendly staff. And, my oh my was it busy! Crowded for lunch, yet my service was brisk and friendly. Never hurried and yet always attentive. My photos show their hours and their lunch menu. If you want the best of this area, then you owe yourself a visit here. You WON'T be disappointed!

My husband and I stopped here on a drive from New Orleans to Fairhope. The service was prompt and friendly. The place was comfortable and full of locals, many people seemed to know one another. My husband got the Los Alambres- he said it was pretty good but a little dry. I got a chimichanga with chicken and a ground beef hard taco. They were both very good. The prices were very reasonable!

Bistek (tender beef cooked with tomatoes, onions, & jalapeños)was so tender & delish. I like it with corn tortillas.

Highway stop Tex Mex place SURPRISES! Usually, I write off a Mexican restaurant w/o Menudo or refrescos on the menu, but Coco Loco is muy bueno. Friendly service, food comes out quick & hot. And our various meats were tender. Place was packed for lunch too - don't know if they were travelers or locals, but they were smart.

Service great, food great. Salsa was good. It was ok. Chunks of tomato with tiny amount of heat. I ordered the Coco plate. OMG it was so much food. Enchilada was perfect, smothered in red sauce, delish. Taco, perfect. My fav Tamale :). Perfection...still steaming from the husk. The chicken flauta I think, was good...could not eat it all. Rice and beans, delish. Check this place out!

The four of us that went here expected it to be good unfortunately we were very disappointed with…read moreservice and food. We selected this spot because it's located across the street from the hotel we reserved and when we got out of our car the smell of the food was good. We went in and they kindly greeted us and said it we will be seated in about 30 minutes. We accepted and greatly was seated in 10 minutes, that was the good part. We walked to the table and I saw a guest with a plate of fajita and noticed it looked bland. They gave tortilla chips and salsa, the chips had no salt and the salsa was very mushy with no taste. I ordered Birria tacos, no season. The dipping sauce is very watery taste. It came with beans that had a very improper season. The enchiladas and other orders my family had was flavorless, low quality of ingredients, guacamole was too mushy. Someone dropped a plate that crashed on the floor. It took the waitress around 10 minutes to bring our tickets to pay. Waitress didn't check in on us. We had to wait for more water.

Not quite Margarita time for me, but I spotted a really fun full bar and an extensive menu of specialty drinks and bar food specials. The menu looked really nice and while I was gonna go for the street tacos, We opted for the limited Lunch Menu at the last minute. (served until 3) The lunch menu had something for everyone. I gorge out on the complimentary chips and salsa but my son chose to order the "large" queso which is definitely enough for 4 people... wow! what a portion. The salsa came in cute little carafe and was very mild for any latino tongue, but I loved it. Son ordered the quesadilla and I the loco burrito. Plenty of food, I really enjoyed mine which was accompanied by pico and guacamole salad. Son slathered his with more of the queso and we both requested boxes to go. The surroundings and staff were very pleasant. Perhaps I'll pop over for a margarita later, I saw a jalapeño one that might just do the trick.
