Been going here for a very long time, and this will for sure be my last. The customer service has gone down so bad... I just left for my jelly pedicure which is about a 100$ pedicure (I get the most expensive one) after arguing with staff about how bad my toe nails were painted. All I wanted was for them to repeat them, and I guess that was an issue? It literally looked like a child did it. If I could give no stars I would this is a very nice place but the service is horrible. I went in because I heard so many good things about it i went in with a picture and she couldnt do it. She left them so thick and not the right shape after i told her and she couldnt do it. The first pictures were my original set of dip power which eventually ended up flying off literally. i went back and did not want to give me refund only offered to redo them which i did and also went beyond to get my money back after my second set chipped and or flew off 2 days after. I went to 3 different sylist NONE of them new how to do a full dip powder set which i had to stop them every time to tell them what to do, but yet did not do it. Another trick they do it use the dip powder then top coat is the no chip coat which is NOT how you do a dip powder set. in that case i would just pay the 30 to do no chip. i have been getting dip for 5 years and coco is definitely not the place to get them done HORRIBLE read more

Nice decor but they were late to our appointment, have limited colors and they have an employee that was walking around without properly wearing a mask. DO NOT GO THERE! Very poor service! The girl which got my nails done had obviously no prior experience working on nails at all. She couldn't do basic stuff like take the old gel off. She was very unprofessional and did an extremely bad job. The instruments she was using were not clean and have been used before many times. The place is dirty and has nail and skin dust everywhere. I can't believe they still have any clients because I'm never coming back there. Very very disappointed. read more

I heard so many good things about this place and I finally decided to try it. I am leaving the salon highly disappointed with the way my nails look. I did not ask for anything complicated I wanted a full white set with two small hearts and for shape I wanted them squared. The guy who did my nails was very rough too and for a full set of acrylics it took about 30 minutes which shows how much he took his time. My nails are all different legths and shapes. Worst Acrylic/Ombré nails I've had in the past few years. I had my nails done by Jimmy 3 times. He's great, is very detail oriented, but he was out for the week. I've done my own acrylic nails for 7 years, so this other guy was there and decided to do my nails trying to tell me I had to remove and do a full set to have the ombré I asked for. I said that's as not necessary and he used 3 thick layers of powder, plus 2 of no chip color on top. I asked to have it thinner and more natural and he wasn't happy, saying if it was thinner, I would see the line between the two shades. He did it in a way that covered my cuticles and I was not surprised to see it lifted with less than a week. A nightmare to remove it! Not to mention I was there for 2 hours and one of their employees came complaining a few times that the nails of her client were ugly cause she liked it long, asking to have someone else doing hers and never take long nails again cause she can't do it (saying that in front of your customers?) I really like Jimmy's work and regret doing it with someone else, unfortunately I'm not coming back. Please be honest with your clients if you can't perform something they ask for or keep the quality work accurate. read more

I hate giving negative reviews, but this place needs it. I'm not sure how they have so many positive reviews quite honestly. It must be for the acrylic nails. If you want a dip or pedicure stay FAR away from this place. To start, we had an appointment scheduled for 2:30pm and they took us 30 minutes late. I have no idea what is up with the receptionist, but we needed to tell her 4 separate times why we were there, when we had already told her on the phone when we scheduled our appointment. My mom's nails chipped within 2 days, my sister's pedicure chipped within one day, and my dip started peeling off and lifting within a week (a dip should last 3 weeks, 4 weeks if you're lucky, based on what I've read and from past experience). I went back and asked them to fix my nails which they did. I was told, "This time it will last forever." Then within a week, 5 out of 10 ten nails cracked on top. I went back AGAIN, for the 3rd time, so they could fix them. And THE NEXT DAY the top coat cracked and chipped on my middle finger. I wasn't doing anything unusual either that would have justified that happening. I don't have time to keep going back to have my nails fixed. Each time it took an hour to 1.5 hrs of my time when they should have been done right in the first place. Additionally, another customer arrived and was asked to come back because they were "too busy." The woman stated that the salon had already asked her to come back 2 separate times that day, and that she wasn't coming back a third time. She was there to have her nails repaired as well. FINALLY, while I was there for my third repair, two women who allegedly had an appointment scheduled, walked out after waiting 30 minutes. At no point did the staff apologize or try to accommodate them. They just let the customers walk out. The place is pretty and appears luxurious, but what's the point of luxury when the work doesn't last and the customer service is terrible? The one saving grace was that Tim, the nail tech, was very nice. I see most of the positive reviews are about him. But with all the repairs needing to be done that's not enough to get me to go back. And his repair cracked the very next day :( Each time I went back for the repairs I got a different tech. So I have given multiple techs a fair shot. I gave them three separate chances to make it right and every single time, the nails peeled or cracked prematurely. Sorry COCO, you've lost this customer as well as my other family members. Maybe if you get acrylics you'll be fine. But dips, regular manicures and pedicures, are a no go here. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more

I usually never review places honestly but i'm too pissed off not to. I've come here in the past and got an amazing acrylic set which got so many compliments but the acrylic they use is cheap and flimsy.. dollar store press on nail quality...and charged $85 for it, not including tip and they fell off about a week later destroying my nails. Today i went back for a second time to get a mani/pedi and i guess there was miss communication about what i wanted because i ended up saying $60 for a no chip pedicure.. $60. Then when i went for a dip set the tech was lazy and left one hand matte finish and one hand glossy finish so i'll have to go back. I felt like every time i breathed they tact on $5. I ended up paying $135 for a mani/pedi with tips. Don't go by the prices they post because they will decided to charger you whatever they feel like it. Honestly not worth it. I LOVE this place. Last time I came here was in December. I had gotten a horrible nail job at a place around the corner earlier and desperately needed someone to fix it before my vacation. Don did an amazing job. Fast forward to now, I have been dying to come back but don't live in the state. Made an appointment. Ryan did my nails and was absolutely fantastic, so nice and funny and did my nails PERFECTLY. They were short enough, the color is spot on and he shaped them perfectly to fit my narrow nails. A nicely decorated interior with ample spa chairs but this however is where the positive review ends. The manicure was very painful and she painted my nails as if she'd never pained someone's nails before. The coats of polish she put on were too thick and there was polish on my cuticles. I asked her to redo the paint once, but got discouraged and left when the second time was just as bad as the first. Never going here again. read more

This place has a good atmosphere and good decorations. HOWEVER, the wait was absolutely awful. The free drinks were enjoyable; but over all, 6 people that came after us were able to get service. We couldn't make a appointment over the phone so we had to drive 20 minutes to get one at 2:15 and then drive back until it was time. When it was time we drove 20 minutes and they were not ready for us. We proceeded to wait 2 hours for two acrylics. They told us the wait would be 10 more minutes but IT WAS NOT. They ignored us until 20 minutes later and they gave us drinks. We did like our nails but IT WAS NOT WORTH THE WAIT. Just know if you make an appointment at this place it will not be on time. Tim, the genuinely kind manager, explained to us that they only had two people for acrylics, that is why people were being served before us. My first time here was 12/23/19 at about 5:30PM and I was told they were booked for the rest of the night however; I could make an appointment for tomorrow, I made the appointment for 6:00PM. I live up the street and decided to get there at about 5:30PM because I needed a few nails removed before getting a full set. Now...when I get there I notice they have a couple of clients, a few employees and the OPEN sign is off...hmmm, they look closed...I was greeted by an employee, to whom I mention I have an appointment for 6PM then I sit down. Tim comes over and states the receptionist must've made a mistake because we closed at 5PM. I mentioned to him that no one called to tell me this, there wasn't anything listed on the Facebook page or any other sites they're listed on. He states they hadn't gotten around to it. I also mention to him that he was standing next to her when she scheduled the appointment for 6PM Christmas Eve...Tim proceeds to give me an option that he believes will make this process faster for both of us, that didn't work for me; he wanted to give me the dip powder on my natural nails. Now, I'm getting frustrated with him because this was an error on their part however; I'm still understanding it's Christmas Eve. He then ask me what I wanted, I tell him and he says "That's simple, I thought you wanted something more!" I was in his chair by about 6PM and he took his time! He provided one of the best services I've had in a long time and the service after hours felt the same as if they were open during normal business hours and I definitely appreciated this. No point during my visit did I feel like he was rushing me out of the door. I'll definitely be returning for New Year's Eve....but much earlier than Christmas Eve! LOL read more

Awful service, no disinfecting between customers, insisting on me getting extra service when I only asked for a basic pedicure the same person who did my pedicure did my dipping powder which is nothing wrong with that but I was able to see that she was learning/not enough experience because she had trouble managing the electric nail buffer, I just didn't enjoy my stance there. I had a 9:30 appointment. They opened at 9:45. Mani/pedi. The pedi tube smelled soooo nasty but thank god i didn't get a full pedi BEAUSE they had no hot water. I had to wait another 20 minutes for the nails. Then to remove my old no chip polish they soaked my finger in a heated bowl of nail polish remover. my skin from my knuckles down turned white and my skin is peeling. But the worst part is how durty it was. The plastic container that held the clipper, scissors and file tips for their electric filer, had a 1/8 inch deep pile of nail dust and nail clippings in it. The nail file tips were filthy, The scissors and clippers were filthy. And the clippers were rusty. None of it sanitized for who knows how long.. It was all pretty darn filthy! I have never been more disrespected in my life.I asked for a thin french nail no chip. I explained that this was the third nail salon I had been too today in attempts to get this done. Diana working the front desk assured me they could do it, while the guy (wink i believe she said his name was) was doing my nails she comes by and tells him that's not what i wanted. I didn't say anything because i'm not confrontational and i was just going to pay and leave. After she told him that's not what i wanted he got up and said "i don't have time for this" took all his stuff and left me there nails half done. If you're looking for a regular no chip manicure then Coco Nail Bar in Hoffman Estates is NOT the place to! My daughters and I went there last summer and had a wonderful experience with pedicures so when we needed manicures we went back. The technician helping my daughter rolled his eyes when she said she only wanted a no-chip manicure and not acrylic nails. Her fingers had polish left on her skin and her nails were anything but smooth. My nicely rounded nails were filed flat on top and not even straight. The polish I had was a shimmer and polish lines were very crooked on half the nails. The appointment was very rushed - the technician didn't even take enough time to put lotion on my whole hand just part of it. Then we were handed invoices for $38 each! I would not recommend this location for a regular or no-chip manicure! read more

If I could give this salons ZERO stars I would. I don't particularly love writing reviews but I have never been to a nails salon that has this many problems!! I own a business in a very similar field, and I would never treat customers the way these people do. I'm not a bouncer as far as nail salons go, I like to make appointments and stay consistent. My first experience was not the greatest. The girl took 2.5 hours to do a basic pedicure and a full set with no chip. She used a base coat as my top coat and didn't know why the nails had cotton all stuck to them until I pointed out the base coat bottle and she insisted that was ok and redid them again with the same problem until someone else corrected her and she painted them a 3rd time finally using a top coat. The second time, I had a guy and he applied what their "primer" is and every single finger was burning so bad a bright red after he applied the acrylic I couldn't even let him file or buff them, they looked terrible. And all cracked within a week! I said let me try one more time, I booked an appointment and when I arrived 10 min before my appointment the girl at the front says, " ya so someone just walked in before and requested him so you're appointment is being moved 30 minutes. I asked how that is possible and said that I own a business and we don't do that to appointments, and she is young and then says, " well ya idk what to tell you, you'll have to come back or see someone else." Needless to say I left and will never be back. They clearly don't know customer service and their products our obviously not professional grade for here in the United States. I'd love the health department to pay them a visit! For a new business to have as many bad reviews as they do it's insane! High end look means nothing! read more

Let me just begin by saying this place is absolutely horrible. I got my nails done and they were absolutely horrid. My nails were completely see through and the shaping was completely off. We got overcharged and told we would not receive a refund for our nails but a refund for our tip. Mike was the man's name who did a horrible job on my nails. This was second visit to Coco Nail Bar and it was nothing short of amazing! The first time I saw Bella and got a no chip manicure that lasted 3.5 weeks. I work in the healthcare field so washing my hands before and after each patient I was accustomed to my no chips last 1-2 weeks (if I was lucky). The second visit I got a full set of clear acrylic nails with Tim. He took his time to listen to what I really wanted and he really delivered! I went here last night with two coworkers. We made appointments for 5:30 and there was a bit of a wait. I was getting a gel fill and they were getting no chip manicures. My nail tech was fast, but not efficient. My nails ended up streaky, too square and sharp! There was also no polish put on the top tips as I am accustom to so my real nail and the gel is already separating. One coworker disliked hers so much we had to get them to take off the polish completely, it was that bad. There were lots of little bubble in the polish and it was applied very poorly. She had to walk out with her nails worse than going in. Her nail tech even cut one of her fingers with no apology and most of her nails were crooked. Luckily, they did not charge us for hers and we wouldn't have paid anyways. My other coworkers nails turned out half decent, but no where near the quality I am used to seeing. There were even someone else's finger nails on the towel the whole time one of the techs was working on her nails! Needless to say we won't be going back, ever. I really like this place but yesterday wasn't my favorite time there. First I had to tell them twice I just wanted a basic pedicure. They kept trying to give me the "menu" so I could look through the different types of services. Then when getting my nails done, I found out there is no manicure for dipped nails unless you pay an extra $10. However, there is for a no-chip. I changed my nails to a no-chip but they charged me $5 to remove my dipped nail polish. The would have been fine if I was just getting a plain manicure but I was getting a no-chip. So if I had went in with no-chip nail polish and got a new no-chip, would they have charged me $5 to remove it? No!! And removing dipped nail polish isn't any different than removing no-chip. I had them do it while I was getting my pedicure so it would take as long when I got my nails done. It's pretty much the same procedure to remove no-chip and dipped nails. I do like this place but the extra fees are frustrating. read more
