Being a manicurist during COVID isn't an easy feat, however, Coco nails still does a fantastic job. They have put up partitions all throughout the store. There is a partition between the person next to you, and the manicurist. Masks are mandated to stay on at all times. I feel safe coming here. I went for a gel manicure today. I went about a month ago to get a gel manicure and pedicure and stayed on with barley any ware until yesterday. I chipped my nail, so I figured I was due. I had Elizabeth last time, and Lori did my nails today. I have never had a bad experience and all of the manicurists do a fantastic job and are so nice. Everything that I have said in my previous reviews still remain true to this day. Granted, I might have tried different nail salons in the past, I always wind up coming back here. I came here with a girlfriend on a Saturday afternoon and this place was PACKED. A lot of hustle and bustle inside and I can see why. This place is the first salon I've been to that offers a membership and allows their clients to earn points to get free services. I get a regular mani/pedi and the color selections were really unique. My girlfriend and I were led to the pedi station where they started our service. This is the first place I've been to where their regular pedicure provides a hot stone leg/foot massage and a leg scrub! It was really nice getting services other than a quick lotion rub on my leg. I'm not sure who did my toes but she was great- I wish they focused on my ingrowns a little bit more, but mine aren't that excessive that it really needed that much attention. After getting my toes done, I was led to their drying station (a little small) to which the nail tech proceeded to give me a quick shoulder massage. I sat at the drying station waiting for a nail station to open up and during that time, I noticed a lot of people coming in and out. I'm not sure if it was crazy busy because of the holidays, but this place definitely didn't lack in clientele. Once a nail station opened up, I sat down and was given ANOTHER shoulder massage while waiting for the tech to get her equipment ready. For a regular manicure, they really focused on keeping the nail clean but spraying alcohol on there but still keeping your skin moisturized. Instead of using towels to lay on the counter when they clip your nails, they used individual paper towels so you KNOW it's clean and not re-used and dusted off. The nail tech asked me if it was my first time and asked if I wanted to join their membership. You get a card that they scan every time you go to earn points. If you pay cash, you earn more points that can get you free services. My girlfriend who gets a gel manicure love the fact they put these gloves on your hand to protect them from the UV light other than your nails and the whole shoulder rub is a huge plus! Before leaving that day, we were given coupons for a free regular pedicure as a holiday gift, which I've never seen other salons offer before. This place is further from me and it's a small town nail salon where the locals come, but we were treated very well regardless of how busy they got and their polish lasted me almost 3 weeks on both my toes and nails. Overall the management are very nice, attentive and welcoming. However - a few months ago I came in to get a pedi for the first time. The owner sat me with Elsa - stating she was new but very good. The appointment went well except for the fact that my big toe on both my feet were different shapes - one square and one rounded. I didn't want to make a big deal about it, but being that I paid a lot for this pedicure and I really wasn't happy with how they came out, I called and explained to the owner that I wanted to get my nails fixed since it had only been a few days (which i was charged full price for again ) When I came in he sat me down with another lady and everything went fine. OR SO I THOUGHT - every single visit there after Elsa has been giving me unfriendly looks. I thought maybe because it just happened she was upset perhaps, so I felt that with time it would pass. It's been MONTHS and still every time I come in, whether for a mani or a pedi she gives me bad looks. I was recently there last week getting a pedicure and she is yet again making faces at me, whispering things under her breath as she passes by me. Truly making me feel very uncomfortable. I'm not sure what she had been mumbling, but the girl who was doing my toes chuckled then paused and asked me if my shapes were okay. I was bothered by this because I had already been to her before and expressed how much I liked her work. I will probably not go back again even though I have been going there for over a year. This salon was recommended to me by a coworker and I absolutely am in LOVE. This nail tech named Sage is ah-mazing! She really knows how to get creative with me and I am so pleased every time! The cleanliness of the facility and how warm and friendly everyone there is made me feel so welcome for all my visits. The owner and his wife are also very welcoming and they always care about everyone who walks in through their door. They are super super busy so I'd recommend calling and making an appointment instead of a walk-in. For Christmas, the owner and his wife gave me a free pedi coupon which was really nice of them! Made an apt for 4:45 and was 10 min late. I walked in and was asked to wait for 15 min I had no problem with that. It has been 45 min and I have still not been seated for a gel manicure. When you walk in the first thing that comes to my mind is a sweat shop. I haven't had my manicure yet but needless to say this is definitely not a spa. I've been coming to Coco for about a year now, and have been a River Vale resident for a greater portion or my life. Growing up here, and only having the options of Kathy's (now Nail Polish Bar), Eden (now L'atelier de Sophia) and a few others I've never frequented- I was ecstatic about having a new salon to visit!!! I have my favorites Jennifer, Moon, Kevin, Amy, and Lori, but I've practically seen every nail tech here, and never had a bad experience. I always call ahead for an appointment, especially if you consider coming here at peak hrs after work, or on a weekend. You'll quickly find out when you come in that all 20 or so odd chairs that adorn this salon are always full, as well as the waiting area. Expect to hear the complaints of self-entitled house wives in our area too- it's amazing how little some people appreciate great service. The salon is clean and bright and I always am welcomed as I enter. I LOVE my nail technician, or should I say artist, Heeyoung. The manicure, sigh. They were packed and seemed to just rushed through she could take the next person. Convinced me to do the weekly polish ($5 more but okay cool if it's going to last), did two coats and they were streaky and uneven. She redid them and nearly same result; redid two of them after the polish came off when she put the sealer on. I sat at the dryer for 5 mins. Let me start by saying that I haven't been to a salon in a few years since the pandemic and have been doing my nails at home. Decided to try this because it was close to home. I made an appointment for a mani and pedi. The place is pretty and clean. Barely a hello at the front door and left waiting for a manicurist who was walking around aimlessly for about 10 min even though the place had just opened and others who came after me were already seated. Pedicure was ok, not great and almost like she was going through the motions and not really doing much. When we moved over for the mani she used the exact same utensils she used on my feet? Not really sure if that's standard practice now but I always had a separate set used for hands. This was a straight manicure and nothing special ( not gel or any other). I guess my first mistake was using their polish - chipped before the end of the day without doing anything like washing dishes or cleaning . Also this place uses hand dryers for your feet? Really? Very disappointed about the fact the polish chipped right away. Had to put a similar color from home to correct it and polished with a quick dry top coat to salvage the rest of the manicure. The one time I had a slight design it took a little longer to do my nails and he became angry because it took a little longer to do. it's like a factory with no real attention to the customer. The best nail salon in this area! I have never had a bad experience here. The prices are fair and the reward system is amazing. For every dollar you spend, you get a point. If you pay cash, you receive double points. Points can be redeemed for a free eyebrow wax, pedicure, green tea spa pedicure or $50 certificate (depending on how many points you have). I had a great experience on a Monday morning in the summer. I arrived right as they opened, hoping they could accommodate a regular pedicure even though I didn't have an appointment. The staff was welcoming and friendly. I didn't need to wait long to start my pedicure, and Sean did a good job. Everything seemed very clean, and they adhere to Covid protocol. The polish is very well organized, which signals that they keep track of age and frequent usage. It seems that they have a lot of gel and powder choices as well. Probably the cleanest nail salon I have ever been to, they have every new color in stock and never make you wait. Extremely friendly staff. Unlike other nail salons which use the same files and utensils, they clean them up hospital standards and use new files every time. They have a reward card which now next time I get a free pedicure. They did such a great job on my nails when I came in. I had a great experience with a clean environment and tub for my pedicure. They don't rush through your massage on your feet for the pedicure. My friend had a busted toenail and they did a great job gluing it and making it look beautiful. I think they did an amazing job on both our toes and I will definitely be back! Do NOT go here. This place is the perfect example of a small town nail salon that lost the notion of the difference between quality and quantity. Years ago they were welcoming and grateful with their regular customers. Now you walk in to grumpy overworked faces, no greeting, no accomodations for future appointments, just "We're full, no time for you" responses. They forgot that getting your nails done is not a duty, but instead, a pampering experience for females. All my highschool friends and I from Emerson were loyal to this place, but sadly they have pushed us away for good. Great nail salon in the area. The new management clearly knows what they are doing compared to the last. They are so warm and welcoming and they do not rush you. Also the facility is cute and CLEAN and I mean really clean (especially compared to other local salons)! They offer a variety of services, most popular being manicures and the gel manicures. Appointments aren't needed but could not hurt. Sometimes (especially on weekends) there can be a wait. Prices are on par with the other salons.
