I tried this place because I happened to be in that area. When I walked in & inquired about the price for a gel manicure, they were well above the going rate. When I asked why so expensive, the woman said "quality". I quietly asked a customer if they do a good job here. She told me yes, so I decided to give it a try. The gel manicure was nicely done & did last me three weeks, which is more than I've gotten out of manicures from other salons. I returned three weeks later & this time treated myself to a regular pedi & gel manicure. The pedi is OK, nothing impressive. The mani, looked nice, but this time only lasted me about 2 weeks. Not sure if it's because a different tech from my first visit. Also, I find it annoying that you get a different tech for toes & nails--each looking for a tip. I'd tip one person more generously if she did both, as opposed to feeling nickeled & dimed. In short, an average mani & mediocre pedi cost me over $60! Both times I went, the service was OK & the place was tidy. I'll give them one more chance to prove themselves worthy of the added cost. read more

This is the worst nail place I've ever been to. I live in Brooklyn but was in Staten Island and had time to kill and needed a manicure so i figured, how bad could it be. I walked in and was happy to see that the place itself was clean, spacious and had ample staff. I was paired with a manicurist (wish I could remember her name as she definitely deserves mention) who didn't even crack a smile. She proceeded to give me the worst manicure ever pulling my hands rudely, asked if I wanted my nails cut I said I don't think so just filed to which she replied she will just even them up - I have 5 different lengths on each hand. My 3yr old niece gives me a better hand massage - honestly, I was tired and already knew I wouldn't be back so I was letting it all go. After the oh so luxurious massage she dropped my hands abruptly and said simply - pay (this was not a case of language barrier - she spoke English ) they are a few dollars higher than any standard nail salon but again, who cared, I wouldn't be back. Now comes the paint. She didn't paint the tips of my nails but did manage to get polish all over the skin around my nails - she was extremely annoyed when she told me to get up to dry and I pointed out the polish on skin. On to the dryer - ok almost done. After 2 cycles on the dryer she came over and touched my nails - ok you are done she said I said ok - there's still some polish on the skin - more rude pulling and dropping of my fingers and then she just walked away Didn't say thank you then or when I gave her a tip I get in my car annoyed at the whole experience but it was over - 2 blocks away 3 nails smudged - terrific they will stay that way because there's no way I was going back. This was by far the worst pedicure I have ever had. I am not the type to complain but not only did I call the manager after I left, but I am also writing this review. After picking my nail color, a woman on her cell phone gestured for me to sit in the pedicure seat. I did, while she continued her phone conversation... The irony being that behind her was a sign saying "please no phones". After waiting 5 minutes while she chatted away, she attempted to start my pedicure. She cut my pinky toe nail and managed to cut off half my toe nail. I knew right away something wasn't right and saw the nail hanging because she didn't even cut it all the way off and was too "busy chatting" to realize. I got nervous and didn't want her cutting any more nails so I told her to finish her call and I would do a manicure first (bc I didn't want her doing anything else on me). I went to get up and she said "no no my boss", and had me stay there. I told her she took off half my nail and she mumbled sorry and told the person she was on he phone with that she had to go because she was working. After that, I wouldn't let her use the nail cutter or cuticle cutter on me because she had scared me already with what she did. She then put my feet in the water without rolling my pants up. Then when she used he tool to clean under my nails, she would take whatever she scraped out and wipe it off on my foot. Once she went to put lotion on my legs, she asked me to roll up my pants. This was proceeded by a pathetic 30 second lotion massage. Then she painted my nails and got nail polish on my flip flop and didn't bother to take it off, so I took nail polish remover and did it myself. The best part is I actually paid for the pedicure. Why I don't know. When I called and spoke to the manager, she said thanks for telling her. I would've thought she would have offered an apology and free manicure for next time but it was just thank you for letting me know. So I will obviously never be going there again.
