I had an AMAZING experience here. I was in town and needed to get my nails done for a wedding. There were about 5 places to choose from in the area and after looking on Yelp I decided to go with Coco Nails and I'm really glad I did. They are extremely attentive and the place is big and clean. My Mother was with me but not getting her nails done and they made her feel very welcome. They let her sit next to me throughout the process and offered both of us free water bottles. One of my favorite parts was the free massage while I was getting my manicure. From my experience it's usually a minute long but this one was great. He took his time and even used lotion. It was $30 for a mani / pedi which is competitive. I would highly recommend this place to anyone! read more

Options, options, options! Definitely the biggest thing for me when it comes to nail salons, and this place has everything from the newest spring shades to the moody darks. Mostly Essie and OPI polishes, and they also offer OPI shine, gel, and a variety of different manis/pedis. The salon is super clean and everyone that works there is really nice. HORRIBLE service. They purposely make more than one person work on your pedicure/manicure so they force you to tip every single person. It's happened to me and many of my friends! I tipped $10 and the owner CHASED ME OUT asking me for more money to tip others..... how rude and disgusting! Maybe pay your employees more rather than chasing out your customers. Had high hopes for this salon as the reviews seemed great! Overall friendly staff & decent job...free drinks including wine. Wine was served in a plastic cup & was warm. They definitely took their time but I got a specialty pedicure where they left the callus remover on too long....burned the bottoms of my foot & still two weeks later hurts/difficult to walk. Atmosphere, cleanliness/organization & presentation could improve. read more

I love the job they do and the price I pay for it. No wonder they're always busy. Manicurists are very nice. Only gripe is that the TV is often tuned to stations that appeal to men. I enjoy watching the cooking chanel, QVC, or some other shows that appeal to female interests when I'm in a business that markets to a female customer. read more

I have been going to Coco Nails for about 4 months, and they do amazing nails! However, you always have to wait even if you have an appointment. When I get my eyebrows done here, they turn out okay, but not the best. I definitely recommend Coco Nails because their nails are amazing and they are very kind to you no matter what. read more

This place does an ok job . but way too busy with or without an appointment . Just don't like that's they have multiple people work on you and then they expect you to tip everyone. Giving this location 3 stars because in the long run the color on my toes lasts a while. The friendliness ends once you're in the chairs. I usual go for a more expensive pedicure and you'd think they'd be thrilled. It's almost as if they'd rather have quantity customers vs quality customers. It's always crowded which begs the question 'what am I missing?' Every time I go there are baby flies everywhere even in the middle of winter. Head shaker. I've been going there since I moved to Trumbull. I think it's time to try one of the other 5 or so salons on Route 111 or 25. Ciao Coco. read more

I am so consistently happy with the results at coco. I get a gel manicure and it is SO important how it's done, or it can ruin your nails. Bella is the best, and super quick. Their new massage person is so great and often gives a free 10 min massage while you have your nails done. It is clear they take cleanliness seriously and now they even use LED light vs UV light on gel manicures (much better for your skin). read more

I had an appointment for my nails on 12/23. Purposely made the appointment with the gentleman who did my nails on 12/9. Not only was I treated worse than a walk in because it was very busy but I was told by the owner that I could not have made an appointment with him because he usually worked at Black Swan! I said well he was here 2 weeks ago and he wrote an appointment down in your book! (Black Swan is owned by her husband ). Also while I was there there was another customer who left without paying for all her services. The poor worker who let her leave was berated and we - the customers were all part of the drama! It went on and on! Frustrating trying to find a place that honors appointments and treats their customers well. A 5minute massage does not make up for poor customer service! read more

Just went here for the 1st time today after being a loyal, die hard for Yumi in town. I have to say, I was quite pleased. Absolutely no wait, staff was friendly and attentive, and they offer beverages! I found it to be clean and the manicurist thorough. I think I might have found my new go to place! read more

So disappointed. I made an appointment the day before and yet, I waited 15 minutes to get a seat, and after my nails were soaked with acetone, I waited another 25 minutes to have the foil removed. Then the lady who did my nails, Leona, was so rushed she asked me if I wanted to cut my nails and didn't bother to ask me how long I wanted them. She cut my nails so short, it didn't even look I had them done afterwards. I have a hard time putting up with a lack of customer service skills, but when it's coupled with poor work ethic, it truly feels like you're throwing your money away. I regret going to Coco Nails and will never go again. I will not pay nor recommend for anyone to go to a place where money is more important than the satisfaction of a customer. By the way, I sat next to a woman who was getting her nails done by a woman who spoke Spanish and didn't know I understood her. While that nail technician waited for her customer to go to the bathroom, she told her co-worker, "Ugh, that woman talks so much it's annoying", referring to her customer. I don't know why this salon received such great reviews because I went for the first time today and did not have a good experience. Maybe I came on a bad day - a Saturday of a long weekend. Everything was rushed. There was a limited supply of nail colors to choose from. My toe nails are now very uneven (I mean the individual toes nails are filed unevenly...never mind trying to get them all to be the same length.) The exfoliant used on my dry insteps left a patchy mess that I will have to deal with on my own. They charged $25 for a very basic bikini wax - and I mean basic. When I questioned the price since the menu said $15+, the man yelled from his chair a few tables down that it depends on how much hair I have. I started laughing and then asked to speak to the woman who did it. I had barely moved underwear out of the way in the process but was told that because I wanted the inner thigh area of the bikini line done, the price increased from $15 to $25. I have never been charged extra for that and had assumed it was part of the basic service. The entire service took little more than 5 minutes. For the most part it was fine, but unfortunately she didn't do one small section properly which left me badly bruised. Once the woman brought me to the dryers after the mani/pedi I never saw her again. Granted it was very busy but I had to remove the cotton from the toes, etc. on my own. I have received much more attention in other salons. May have been a bad day but for me this isn't a place I will go again. read more

Another update! CoCo Nails has new spa pedicures available. They come in nine or ten varieties, depending on the scent you like and the problem you want to address. Dry skin? Rough spots? Need soothing? Aches and pains? Choose the one that suits you. There's a mask, a scrub, very creamy lotion and keriten booties. The pedicure includes steam, callus remover and a 20 minute massage with hot stones. It takes about an hour and 20 minutes and costs $65.00, but you get $5.00 off any manicure service. I felt VERY pampered. It was delightful! While everyone on the staff is very good and really nice, if you want a great experience, try to make an appointment with James. The cleanest, friendliest longest lasting manicure (not gel)! salon in the tri-town area. Love that they use plastic tub liners. Also use autoclaved instruments. Just should use spectricide full strength (can see by light blue color it's diluted). Otherwise you're perfect! read more

Salon smells & workers are too slow. We waited inhaling gel fumes for 25 minutes for a manicure & pedicure for a 10 year old girl. They kept bypassing her for adult women who were going to spend more, I assume. Extremely poor business management & we won't be back. It was my 3rd time going to this salon and had previously been pleased with the outcome of my nails. This time I sat next to a woman who was getting dip powder and while the final coat was drying and the employee got up to start cleaning the woman reached into her wallet to get money to pay. The woman doing my nails reached over quickly and said "no don't do that I'll help you your nails aren't dry yet." The woman said she was fine and my lady went back to doing my nails. Turns out the woman smudged her nail and the employee who did her nails saw and tried to fix it when she returned to the table. The woman said she was in a rush and had to go pick up her kid and not to worry about it she would just put a clear coat on it when she got home. The employee didn't want the woman to leave with a smudged nail and insisted on fixing it even though the woman kept refusing. The woman finally agreed to let her put a quick clear coat of gel polish over the nail since it would cure quickly under the light and woman could go on her way. The owner asked the employee what happened and they explained it to the owner. As the customer was leaving the female owner at the front told the woman to come back and get it fixed when she had more time, again the customer said she was fine and everything was fine. After the customer left, the owner then went on to yell at the employee in front of everyone saying that she was too slow and she shouldn't have let the customer leave without properly fixing the nail and if she can't finish the job then she needs to call them to help because "what if the customer doesn't come back". Well I can't speak for the woman who damaged her own nail and refused to let the employee fix it properly when she repeatedly tried to, but I can speak for myself and I will NOT be returning to this salon. Speaking to employees that way, and in front of other employees and customers is not okay, ever. Especially when I witnessed the entire situation and the employee was not at fault. I can't knowingly support a business that treats their employees that way because they're afraid they might lose a customer. If you take care of your employees, they'll take care of your customers. read more

We had a very saddening experience when we went to get our nails done at this spa today. Apparently the workers were not used to doing nails on colored skin and used a color for the French powder that was way too light. We complained that it really just looked like my regular nail with a white tip painted on it and they basically said they couldn't change it because our skin color was too dark for the French after they strongly recommended I get it! They overcharged me $100 for a French manicure and regular pedicure and I had to say something just to get any part of the manicure. No warm soak, no hot oil, no aloe that they claimed they give to every manicure and pedicure. None of this was given to me without my asking and yet they charged me so much. I am truly disappointed in the racial disparity at this place. read more

I made an appointment and got a gel manicure here about a month ago and it was awesome! She shaped my nails nicely, exactly how I asked (squoval), and they were an even length - I loved it! The manicure lasted 15 days without a chip. I went back again for a gel manicure but with a new color as a walk in and it was terrible. The nail tech was super unfriendly, had a cold attitude, rushed, and four of my ten nails were filed crooked. When I noticed while she was still filing and asked her to file a little more on them, she seemed annoyed and barely touched the file to my nail twice before giving me a glare and moving on. I understand when they hold your hand it's on an angle, not straight on, so the nail may appear to be shaped evenly, but its obvious when holding my hand out, it's very obvious. And my nails are not the same length. I have 2 on each hand that are very long and 1 on one had that is super short. On top of that, the next day part of my nail and the polish chipped because it got stuck on my sweater....due to poor filing? I'm rarely one to complain, but when paying $30+ after tip and ending up with crooked nails? It is obvious who the good nail techs are because they have appointments lined up all day, even weekdays. read more

If I could score negative Star I would. This place is a total disappointment, I went on a Saturday for a Pedicure when it was super busy, I was asked to pick my color and have a seat. I waited 5 minutes and was asked to go over to a chair, now I waited 15 minutes with no water and everyone that came in AFTER me was being helped, if that wasn't bad enough I was asked to move to another chair because 2 people wanted to sit together. I was so upset and ready to leave the place, when I started to get upset where it was noticeable to everyone in the place JAMES came over to me and said what's the matter, he apologized and said he would take care of me. I live in town and always had great service with the previous owners. Haven't been there in a long time under new management I will NEVER return to this place again, there are several nail places in Monroe that have better service than COCO NAILS....
