I have tried the sausage and peppers, really enjoyed that and the Stuffed peppers.. Delicious. They have a great variety of cheeses, pantries, fruit and vegetables. I also tried the tuna salad, regular and the one with crasins in it, both were very good. I was a little disappointed in the shrimp, I purchased already cook large shrimp and 2 days later they were bad. If you go..do it early..and if you go later don't try and park close just go to the far parking lot, it really isn't that far and it's less stressful. And be prepared the The aisles are very small. This was a wonderful market. First off it was a lovely day -- the first in a long time without…read morepouring rain. It was overcast and cloudy, so comfortable to walk around. And we walked the entire length of all the booths. The market itself was in an area that we'd never been to by some various parks and Royal Palm venues. The booths were wrapping around part of the lake and along a path parallel to the main street. We found a parking spot under the trees when another car pulled out. Everyone was quite friendly, too, as we walked around. Vendors of jewelry, clothing, honey, handmade soaps, pet products like dog chews and dog beds, guacamoles, breads, candles, cookies and brownies, plants, microgreens, gift items, et al. One area had a few food trucks and was near an outdoor picnic table. We did try some delicious and refreshing "made that morning" conch salad. I'd definitely like to come back again. It was fun to browse and get in a comfortable walk as well as getting some ideas for holiday gifts.

I was in the area and spotted this bright yellow barn looking building and saw that they had fresh…read moreproduce so I stopped to check them out. There is a large parking lot in front and the building is open to allow fresh air to pass through but there is no air conditioning. Inside are bins of produce, the typical supermarket varieties of fruits and vegetables. They also sell plants, large pots, frozen pasta, pantry items, spices and seasonings, McCoy's honey, fresh herbs, and roasted peanuts. There is a discounted produce section which was a bargain. The regular fruit and vegetables however were more than I have been paying at Aldi's where they look fresher. Outside there are some plants next to the parking lot that are being used for a botanical study. I am always checking out different farmer's markets for cooking inspiration but I can't say I really found any here.

I parked and Bobby came out to greet me; he was very inviting and knowledgeable. I Got to tour part of the property while I followed Bobby who was ready, machete in hand to harvest some sugar cane for me. He was also very nice and gave me a bunch of canes free of charge for me to use to plant my own at home. I purchased two different varieties of chewing canes and organic free range eggs from his backyard flock. I'll definitely return next time I'm in the area.

I had the pleasure of visiting Swank farms for an event to appreciate the process of farm to table…read moreeating with Slow Foods organization and let me tell you how pleasantly surprised I was by the whole evening. The venue was so pretty, it surpassed any of my expectations when I signed up for a farm to table dinner. The barn was beautifully decorated and organized, hosting 250 guests yet never felt packed. The stage area sits high so any seat is a good seat with a view of performers or speakers. Upon arrival we were greeted by the event organizer and by Swank's farm owner who told us a bit about the farm and their message about locally grown and sourced food. He also informed us about how they offer monthly produce bags, "Swank Sacks" delivered to Whole Foods Market who they partnered up with, where you can pick up your produce bag with items all grown at Swank farm, providing you a taste of some of the seasons flesh's and organic produce. The evening flew by while listening to the delightful sounds of live jazz and enjoying our carefully and deliciously prepared 5 course meal by all the amazing guest chefs that night. It was a fantastic experience and a pleasant way of learning to enjoy slow food as opposed to fast food.
