Quaint little brewery, very personal and friendly! Mice outdoor deck with seating and beautiful jasmine blooming. Doesn't get much better - oh wait, what about the beer you ask? We loved it! The day we visited there were two beers on tap: triple 8 IPA and a gallinipper. While I'm normally not a huge IPA fan, I completely enjoyed my beer!

Cocoa Beach Brewing Company is a fairly recent addition to Cocoa Beach - they've been open since mid 2009. They are a true micro brewery. Current brewing system is just 1.5bbl, and that is up from the 1/2bbl they were using previously. When we visited they only had their Pale Ale on tap, the first brew from the new system. Note - this is a brewpub only, they are currently not serving food, though do have assorted snack food and do allow you to order/bring food in from elsewhere. Located just north of 1st street, CBBC is in a building which was originally navy housing. They have a lounge with a big screen and a couple comfy chairs, as well as a 4 tap bar and a small bar type seating area. There were two guest taps on currently, as well as the one house brew. We were served by the owner/brewer/bartender Chris, who was happy to discuss his beers and his plans for the brewery. The beer was wonderfully fresh. It was unfiltered so showed some yeast and chill haze, but it hit the spot. The house pale ale had a fairly traditional pale ale malt profile, but had a bit more hops than strict adherence to the BJCP styles might indicate. But, I believe guidelines should be just that, guidelines, not hard and fast rules. I'm happy to report that Chris seem to agree! Overall I found the beer balanced and tasty. Good stuff here, and I can't wait to see how things grow over time. I will be back when I return to the area! Finding the pub is a bit tough, it isn't quite visible behind the restaurant (Chili Pepper Club) just to the south of them, as you drive north on A1A. Much easier, I found, was to park in the lot behind the brewery, which is accessible via the alley off of 1st street.

Key Lime, not just me (oatmeal stout), Pale Ale, FHP, IPA

I might hurt somebody with this review but I didnt see the 4 1/2 stars on this brewery anywhere. Small little shack in the middle of Cocoa Beach. If it was't for Yelp, I would never find it, from the outside looks more like a bakery that anything else. While visiting Melbourne, Florida I went out on the look out of new breweries since Im a beer drinker, so I been eyeballing this place for quite a while now. My first impression was ok this looks like somebody went and grab a beer brew kit from the store, and brew some beers and call it a nano brew. I sat at the bar and asked for a flight I was also with some relatives, so the bartender mentioned that he only had glasses for one flight. I look at him and look around the place was completely empty so they literally had only glasses for one flight!!! Are you serious? The bartender said we can get half of pints if we want to since my dad and uncle are not really craft beer drinkers so they went for half's. I ordered the only flight that they had and got all their five beers, IPA, Pale Ale, Farmhouse Ale, Oatmeal Stout and their Key Lime apparently a fruit beer. I started with the Key Lime which I believe its their signature it was good very refreshing beers citrusy with pine aromas, right there I got all excited first sample, beer wasn't so bad and I was ready for the rest. Then I tried their FHP the bartender mentioned this beer it's brew with Belgium hops to give it a funk flavor, well they were 100% right it was really funky but not in a good way. Then, I had their oatmeal stout, big big disappointment... it was very light almost watery and flat, for a second I though I was drinking a nitro beer, it was really bad. Then I had their pale ale, nothing crazy and last but not least their IPA regular hops fresh with a hint of fruit it was ok thats about it. The guys been in business five years they must be doing something good I just didn't see it last night. Wish them the best, but I don't think I would go back. If you are staying in the area and don't want to drive the extra mile to their competitors go for it, but you might be driving south to the next brewery later.

Cocoa Beach Brewing is in a super cute old little house just a block away from the beach. They only have like four chairs at the bar but they also have a table, a few other seats (a couch, I think?) and an outdoor patio. The guy helping us was very nice and fun to talk to. They had four or five beers on tap, which they said is a lot for them. My husband tried them all and liked them. I took a sip of the Pale Ale, the Honey Golden Belgian, and the Saison and also thought they were nice. I had a glass of the Key Lime Cerveza and liked it a lot. It was very light and refreshing and had a nice subtle but nice taste of key lime.

The overgrown and rundown outdoor deck has a savings grace. It allows dogs!

Like the reviewer from a month ago, the bar tender cited health issues and could only offer a meager selection of corporate beers.

Only 2 beers on tap, a October fest and a stout. Beer was decent wish they had more. Nice back porch. The brewery is hard to find. It's off the highway in what looks like someone's home. They managed to make it nice. Gave them 3 stars wish they had more beer.

FUN FACT: Dirty Oar Beer Company is one of two breweries located in Historic Cocoa Village. Also,…read moreit is one of nine breweries located on the Space Coast (Brevard County). With quite a small selection spread out across a large county, all the breweries have the opportunity to be unique. But for Dirty Oar Beer Company (which I will shorthand to simply the Dirty Oar), they need to be different from their neighbors, Bugnutty Brewing Company. So did Dirty Oar accomplish the aforementioned "challenge?" Well yes and no depending on what it is you are looking for. Located on the north side of Historic Cocoa Village - which is the south side of King St./US-520, Dirty Oar is a large aquamarine blue building heralding a beautiful mural of birds and an octopus. There is a back entrance where their biergarten is located and a front entrance which i will consider their storefront. Parking is a bit tight, but may be accommodating enough as Dirty Oar is not as rambunctious as their neighbors, Bugnutty, are. My friends, Charles the Grey a.k.a. Roadie X and Patrick joined me today as we enjoyed brews and food in their taproom. The area is kind of small compared to other taprooms, but maybe it is because the biergarten is much bigger for overflow accomodation. There are games for people to play, in which my friends enjoyed a game that was kind of like either/or, and it was fun. Not very intelligent, but whatever. This is where things can be a hit or miss. Maybe it is me, but the flight of "milkshake" beers did not impress me at all. If I am going to drink anything "milkshake flavored", I expect to taste said milkshake flavors. They tasted okay for beers, and maybe that is being more lenient as it was not what I was hoping for. Not bad, but definitely not a "milkshake." Food was delicious, but it comes from a food truck parked next to the biergarten. The grilled cheese was good and packed flavor into something simple, but the Frito pie: exquisite. To be fair, anyone that messes up a Frito pie doesn't deserve to cook anything. Overall, Dirty Oar was a-okay for an initial visit. Will I be back here? Of course, especially if I want a more personal time with friends, family, or a date. But will I go out of my way to go here compared to other breweries, probably not. Still, an a-okay establishment that I suggest visiting at least once. On a sidenote, Dirty Oar is one of the breweries that makes up the Launches & Lagers II Tour in Brevard. It is also a location in the Untappd App.

Citrus City Craft was selling some special cocktails outside, and I saw the berry bourbon catching my eye. I had to go with that. Since it was an event, it just came on a plastic cup, making it easy to hold. It was a great fruity drink. I forgot what kind of berry they used, but it was pretty sweet and enjoyable. The bourbon they used was indeed high quality as the booziness lasted almost an hour. Though, thankfully I was still good enough do two rides on the mechanical bull and last for a decent account of time. And what was amazing about the drink was the cost, just 8 bucks! I would have expected to pay at least 10 dollars or more for a great quality drink for a special event, but 8 dollars was quite a steal. While I didn't go inside the restaurant/bar, I just enjoyed the outdoor entertainment at the strip mall, and tried the cocktail. Because of their excellent quality of the drink at the event, I definitely need to visit inside and try their beer selection as well in the future.
