My Tuesday group went to Tin Whisky for supper. They were pretty busy for a Tuesday. We were greeted and seated promptly. Our server was very attentive. I ordered the southern catfish basket with fries, with a side of turnip greens. Everything was delicious. The catfish had a thin crispy cornmeal coating, the fries were very meaty, and of course the greens had the chopped turnips .My companions ordered the cheesesteak flatbread , it had a generous topping of beef and cheese, on a thin crispy crust.It was declared very good. The Fish tacos were well filled with fish and toppings , they came with a side of chips and salsa, they were great., also ordered was the triple tail, it came with two sides.and garlic bread. It was a large generous portion of fish. He said it was very very good. The tartar sauce is not your typical tartar, it had an odd distinct herbal flavor. And.... It wasn't freezing today. Old fashioned on tap is a MUST. I was pleasantly surpised that it was still very good (strong) and only $7 on happy hour. I would have 3 if I could still walk after that. We started with the lobster arichoke dip. They werent shy with the lobster, it was front and center, creamy, and went well with the chips. A shrimp po boy is always an exciting offer, unfortunately here it was a bit of a let down. I should have know when it was mixed with sausage, but the bread was actually the issue. Traditionally served on french bread where it can hold up, this bread didnt make it through the meal. The contents were good, but I woulve rathered shrimp covered in the sauce with those great fries. The burger was good, just a burger, but definitely on the side of delicious, cooked and seasoned well. My only issue is we got the tin whiskey burger and despite the toppings, it didnt hit the way we thought it would. It was a good bacon cheeseburger. That said, I love the outside atmosphere, the food is good, the staff is friendly, I will definitely be back with friends and family OR alone for two old fashioneds and a lobster dip. read more

We decided to try Tin Whiskey in Cocoa and had a very pleasant experience. The restaurant is located right on the corner of a busy intersection, making it easy to find, although the amount of parking immediately around the restaurant is somewhat limited. Tin Whiskey has an outside bar and seating area along with two indoor dining areas, one toward the front and another in the back. When you enter, there is a hostess who seats you, and during our visit there was even a live performer playing near the entrance and hostess area. The seating inside is a mixture of booths and tables, and the entire restaurant had a very comfortable and relaxing atmosphere. The menu has a good variety of food including sandwiches, soups, salads, pizzas, burgers, and other choices. We ordered the pear and Gorgonzola flatbread and the steak salad. The flatbread was okay, but I thought the steak salad was definitely the better of the two dishes. Both entrees were about $15 each, and drinks were around $3 to $4 apiece, which I thought was very reasonable considering the quantity and quality of the food and how quickly everything came out. Our waitress was excellent and took very good care of us throughout the meal. One thing I would mention is that we left after dark and found the lighting in the parking area to be somewhat limited, so just be a little careful walking back to your car at night. Overall, Tin Whiskey was a very comfortable and relaxing place to sit, have a meal, and enjoy some live music. The prices were reasonable, the service was excellent, and there was a good variety of food to choose from. We enjoyed our visit and would certainly consider going back when we are in the area. Like many reviewers we have eaten here about 8-10 times & brought out of towners with us to show off a great place. Last time was several months ago & "maybe it was an off night". Nope. Went last night with a party of 6 at 6 pm. Talked to hostess & asked for table for 6. She asked if we had reservations (no) then huffed & walked away, returning to tell us "I don't have any tables" as if that was the end of the conversation, we were now dismissed??? We asked if we could wait for a table (seeing at least 8-10 vacant tables) & she "allowed" us to wait. Got seated around 6:25-6:30, and finally placed drink order with Timothy, who by all accounts was great & I saw him RUNNING around the restaurant often, so the kid had hustle. (Part of the issue was no silverware so he was doing work out front, but also rolling silver himself when he could run back to kitchen. Mind you, it was not packed in there which would normally explain the backlog of silver/dishes being washed). We finally placed our order at 7:43, but at the one hour mark (after seeing tables get seated, served & leave who arrived after us) we decided to cancel our order and leave. When Timothy returned with our check for drinks/apps around 8:50 runners were bringing our food out, which we declined. I've seen a lot of comments about cold/nasty food, so I regret not having them set the dishes they brought down to report on that, too. It is truly disappointing to take your business to a local establishment only to be so awfully disappointed these last two visits. I don't blame the server, like I said, that boy was running & doing his best. This is more of a management issue. First, who puts someone in a front facing/direct first contact role who has no personality or friendly disposition, or if they are having a bad night doesn't monitor & correct this attitude towards people trying to give your business money. And second, who is minding the store? Like I said, all of the support duties (rolling silver, making sure food is cooked/served within AN HOUR, etc) failed miserably, where was the manager who is supposed to notice/correct/apologize for these things? If this is the type of service they think is good, why don't they put a box by the entrance for customers to drop money in, seat themselves, and hope for the best? read more

A side was included so I chose the sweet potato fries - which were actually more correctly sweet "tater tots". I ordered a Red Lager IPA for my drink ($6.00). We were in cocoa for a fundraiser and came across this gem of a place driving by and said we need to check it out. And glad we did!!! We had a fairly large party and our server was great. She handled us all and was top notch. We sat outside in the covered patio but it did not feel like being outside. Yes the sun was setting and right on us but it was still comfortable out there. The food was good. Started out with the artichoke hearts. Would have liked a few more hearts rather than the petals but over all very good. I got the buffalo grilled cheese and it had some good flavors and loaded with chicken. My lady got the spinach goat cheese and walnut salad with shrimp and she loved every bite of it. Will definitely stop in there again when in the area and maybe when it's a little cooler and really enjoy the outside patio. horrible service... had to get our own silverware, forgot parts of the order, food was sub-par, food not cooked to ordered temp, no refills or check-ins after food was dropped, had to ask for the check and while we were dining, watched all the employees sitting at the bar playing games on their phone and eating the entire time we were there. My husband and I dined on the patio last week for dinner. He ordered a cowboy up burger with fries and I ordered a Philly Cheesesteak with french fries. My husband thought his burger seemed extremely salty. I thought mine was just ok. The bun was very soft. They lowered the screens and turned off the fan as the sun went down which was nice. Went in today with my mom and daughter for lunch. Restaurant was clean and well decorated. Food was tasty but the star of the show was our server. To say she was amazing is an understatement . She was running the bar, had the entire inside dinning room and was expoing and running her own food. On top of that she had the best attitude and sweetest personality. Really nice decor and seat yourself so we chose a great spot. Started with home made pork rinds. Hot and fast but no flavor. Suggest seasoning them or serving with a dipping sauce. Jess had BLT and it was average. A bit too salty and she loves salt. Fries were good. I had ribs and they were very average. Slaw was not good. Never got the bbq beans. Sat at the bar for over 10 minutes finally someone came behind the bar and let us know she was in the office and walked away. So we left. Tin Whiskey was a very big upscale southern food restaurant. It has a big outdoor seating area with a bar as well as a huge indoor seating area and indoor bar. We sat in the indoor bar and got some drinks and ordered the Chicken Digits, their version of tenders. The tenders were good, lightly breaded and came with seasoned fries and bbq sauce that was smoky deliciousness. Service was great and did not have to wait a long time, even while it wasn't super busy, it still had quite a few people in there. This place has so much potential, yet it suffers an identity crisis. Food is just okay, but didn't leave me wanting to ever return. Mediocre. I had a Hot Lips burger, the burger itself was fine. We ordered non-alcoholic drinks and either their lines are dirty or the water source is bad. They tasted HORRIBLE. Service was perfectly fine, she replaced our drinks but the aftertaste was so bad, almost chemical or maybe mildew. Could not drink them. Ambiance is awful. There's a weird section (pictured) with random junk everywhere , looks like storage...it is an eye sore and messy. You'd think they'd have live music on a beautiful Saturday, but instead they played random 90s music. We went to this restaurant as we had a couple of times over three weeks. The food is better than some other restaurants in town. This night we were seated in the bar area, we ordered, and were enjoying our meal until we became aware there was a large private party descending in the same small area. Our table was bumped by rude people, we were surrounded by the ever growing loud crowd, then we witnessed the staff knowing this party and catering to them as friends and our service dropped off. I guess it's who you are at this restaurant. The check was delivered hurriedly as we were basically run off as it was obvious this party wanted our table. Server was phenomenal and attentive but that's about the only good thing. The ambiance wasn't great. Lots of drunk obnoxious people walking up and down sidewalk, way too noisy with how close it is to the main highway. Food was so disappointing and lacked everything. Fried Okra was nothing but little balls of grease. Sandwiches were flavorless and unappetizing with sloppy plating and presentation. The "steak" was obviously the cheapest cut you could possibly buy without it being considered meat for hot dogs. We ate here a year ago and had great service. This time we didn't even get a chance to eat because they were too rude to even answer a question. The host on the outside deck was completely clueless and had no idea what was happening on his deck. We had two small dogs and had to stay outside. When I asked him if there would be any tables open within 20 minutes or so, he looked at me like a deer in the headlights, and said, "Ummm, I really have no idea." Ok, well friend...YOU are the one person running the outside area, so you should know who's getting ready to finish up. We left and took our hard earned dinero with us. Husband and I were playing Pokemon Go and stumbled across this place. I was not hungry, but we shared a fried artichoke appetizer. I just got club soda to drink. He tried an old fashioned. I think he liked it. The fried artichokes were good, but anything fried is alway good! Nothing on the menu really jumped out at me, but I wasn't really looking. Tin Whiskey is located in historic downtown Cocoa Village. The atmosphere is one you would expect from a town in Florida. It is open air with a huge party vibe. The place was packed but instead of waiting for a table, we sat at a fence with enough ledge for our food. The menu is very Southern inspired and has unique items. My appetizer was fried green beans with some kind of horseradish ranch. This might be my favorite new vegetable! I picked Porky's Revenge for my entree. This was a captivating grilled cheese sandwich with pulled pork, bacon, smoked gouda cheese, pimento cheese, and a homemade maple bacon bourbon relish. Jalapeno smoked gouda grits was my side. They were thick but I believe they could use a little more jalapeno. Sweet tea was refreshing but could have been a little bit sweeter. This is a great hangout with decent food in Cocoa. read more

After 2-3 seconds he walked away without acknowledging anyone or even allowing anyone to have a moment to respond. Next I had to have the server walk back 4 steps, to order a couple beverages, Nonetheless the server again walked away without acknowledging anyone. His attitude was completely unacceptable. Horrible parking if it's packed, (went on a Saturday at 8) it is Cocoa village but for such a big restaurant I would expect a better parking lot. We had to park 3 blocks down. They don't take to go orders over the phone you have to come to the bar to order your food to go. The outside patio is nice and the bar and any rail seating are first come first serve. I didn't visit the inside as we were getting food to go so I have no idea what that looks like. The bartending staff were very nice and fast to take our drink orders as well as our food order. We had 3 different drinks off of the specialty drink menu while waiting on our food. On Sundays they have a loaded Bloody Mary I definitely want to visit again to try that! Food wise (what we're all here for), The restaurant has a good selection of different types of Mac and cheeses as well as grilled cheeses and many other different types of meals. Our family had a mac & cheese regular a bacon cheeseburger mac & cheese a buffalo chicken sandwich with sweet potato barrels a.k.a. sweet potato tater tots and the meatloaf and mashed potatoes. Now you might ask who orders a meatloaf at a restaurant and in my defense we are doing the couples adventure dating challenge and our challenge was to ask our server what her two favorite meals on the menu are and order those so that is why we got two of the four meals that we got. Out of the four meals I would say my most favorite was the buffalo chicken sandwich, their bread is the thick Texas toast type bread and it was grilled to perfection and it was very tasty even the next day it was just as tasty heated up in the oven. The mac & cheese both of them were mediocre to be honest and the meatloaf and mashed potatoes were OK it wasn't anything fabulous it wasn't horrible but it wasn't fabulous. Tin Whiskey is a perfect example of why I do not grade on service. To say service was glacial the day we tried it would be an understatement. After being seated by an amicable hostess, we waited for 18 minutes and 32 seconds before further contact by any restaurant representative. I noticed a boisterous 30-top demanding separate checks for all 30 people. Turns out our waitstaff, Kyla, was their server as well. About 15 minutes into our wait, we were inclined to walk out, but when Kyla finally showed, she apologized profusely, appeared sincere, and had a winning personality. We gave her the benefit of the doubt and stayed. Tin Whiskey has a diverse menu of flatbreads, sandwiches, and full-blown meals. I ordered my go-to Chicken & Waffles described on the menu as two waffles with caramelized pearl sugar and topped with four large hand breaded chicken digits. Hand breaded? When I pressed her, Kyla confessed that they were not breaded by hand by a human being in the back, but indeed frozen chicken tenders. At least they were not low quality. The waffles were the prepackaged Le Waf waffles sold by the Little Debbie company. One pop in the microwave and voilà, chicken and waffles. Not sure unwrapping waffles from cellophane is gourmet, but hey, it worked. I also ordered the Shrimp & Sausage Po'boy which was advertised as Fried shrimp, Andouille sausage, peppers, onions, shredded lettuce, tomato and a Cajun remoulade sauce on a fresh hoagie roll. While the roll was not toasted, the shrimp were of a higher quality than most places serve. The execution was above average. I even tried to find out the cook's name, but no one knew. My dining companion ordered the Char-grilled Caesar with Chicken. It didn't look too bad. After delivering the food, Kyla disappeared again and at the 1 hour 14-minute mark--each torturous minute like a bastinado whipping with a cane on bare feet--I'd had enough. I went and got boxes from a not-unpleasant bartender for our food, paid, and left. This is another restaurant that should be in Cocoa Beach clipping tourists. The bartender makes a good drink and the food! They had a good jazz band outside on the patio. The food was really good and the portions are huge I ordered the shredded pork and it was some of the best I have had. I got the baked beans and fries with and it also came with garlic bread. My wife's hamburger was also good. Onion rings and fried okra were hits, turnip greens were straight out of a can. My burger was cooked to perfection and the toppings were to die for. My husband had the fish basket with Cod - they literally melted in your mouth. I'm a fry snob and these were delicious. Went here for work team lunch. The place is very open and the staff are very friendly. But I MUST say the food was good and came out quickly. Usually what I hate about team lunches is that it takes for ever to get the food that you have ordered. I believe this may have been the fasted I have received my lunch in a group setting. I went at opening and although there were a handful of people there besides my group it didn't make service degrade! I look forward to attending again.
