Biscoff Cookie Butter Cookie Ice Cream
    Brett N.

Why 5 stars? Because it's hard to imagine better cookies than this. --- --- --- After eating lunch nearby, I went to see if I had anything interesting bookmarked nearby, and it turned out Cocoa Cookie Bar was only about 10 minutes away. I saw a nearly perfect 5-star rating, and didn't need to look at anything else - throw it on the GPS and LFG. I ended up ordering a macadamia nut cookie and cookie butter ice cream, while my wife went with a chocolate chip. We both absolutely loved our cookies - they were truly perfect. To be honest, the ice cream was probably average at best, but you come here for the cookies, and the cookies are some of the best I've ever had in my life. Plus, when you turn around and look at the wall opposite of the cookies, they have pictures of every type of cookie they offer as part of their rotating menu, and my God, it's pure cookie heaven. There are so many amazing cookies made here that it's almost painful. If we weren't an hour away, I'd be a regular.

4.5/5 stars Small and unassuming cookie shop, but the cookies here are amazing!! One of my top spots! They also have great ice cream, with alcoholic options available too. The owner was very friendly and answered any questions we had. We got there close to closing time, so half the flavors were sold out already unfortunately. But we'll definitely be back to try more! We ordered: - Chocolate chip cookie - Whiskey glazed carrot cake cookie - Red velvet chocolate chip cookie - Biscoff cookie butter ice cream The cookies were warm and slightly crispy on the outside, with a soft and gooey interior. My only complaint is I wasn't the biggest fan of whatever chocolate they used, but the flavor was still great! Definitely don't skip out on the ice cream here either. The biscoff cookie butter flavor was so good!

YALLLLL...I've been on the hunt for MY perfect cookie and I've found it. If you're a cookie lover, Cocoa Cookie Bar is definitely worth a stop! Their cookies are perfect--warm and gooey on the inside, with a perfectly crispy exterior and not too salty! They have a great variety of flavors, from traditional favorites to more unique ones! I didn't get to try the ice cream but it's made in house! I will definitely be back! Just have to figure out how to not over indulge in these now!

So you definitely have to try this place if you were a cookie lover and you're in the area! They have great cookies and also homemade ice cream that is really good. The owner was really nice and let me try a few different ice cream flavors and some of them were adult flavors. One of them was a rum or whiskey banana pudding (can't remember)! I will have to come back for the ice cream. He said that he ran out of chocolate chip cookies, so I tried the s'mores cookie and it was really good. It was nice and gooey and had a nice cinnamon flavor with chocolate and marshmallows!

Amazing! Finally I was able to stop by on a day this shop was open since I'm usually in the area on Sundays. The cookies are gigantic and hefty and made in small batches through the day. A display is placed in the window to help you decide which to choose. There's also in store made varieties of ice creams (some boozy) and each flavor seems to complement the cookie flavors for the perfect sandwiches. I decided to try the turtle and of course the regular chocolate chip. If you can't make a good chocolate chip I'm not coming back. The cookie base was the same, rich in flavor on its own, but both cookies were also loaded with high quality chunks of chocolate, the turtle with an added dollop of caramel in the middle. Not too sweet and perfectly gooey. Both cookies were served warm. I also tried the horchata ice cream and it was awesome, though I stay away from too much dairy these days and they currently don't have vegan flavors. The store is small and service is great. I'll have to start doing my shopping on Saturdays so I'll have an excuse to stop by! This place easily takes the crown of the best cookie on this side of town.

Best cookies and ice cream in the world. The owner is really friendly and helpful. Everything has so much flavor and the cookies and ice cream flavors rotate

I really enjoyed my experience at Cocoa Cookie Bar. The customer service was fantastic. It's a blacked owned business in the heart of Westchase on Westimier Rd. I purchased the six pack with the following flavors:Italian Cream, Mississippi Mud, Chocolate Chip, Strawberry, Frutti Pebbles, Oatmeal Walnut. I enjoyed all the flavors besides the frutti peddles, it prob was a texture thing for me. The cookies were hot and gooey. I definitely would recommend this establishment in your in the mood for some homemade, fresh and gooey cookies. They have a few tables you can sit at if you want to enjoy your cookies and ice cream there as well.

This place was cool. A homemade cookie and boozy ice cream shop... why not?! The fellow there was friendly and very patient with all of our requests. I sampled a few of the ice creams and really enjoyed the Cognac Black Walnut. We ended up buying four cookie flavors: Blueberry Rum Chata, Turtle, Toffee Walnut, and Chocolate Chip. The first two flavors were yummy. The last two, not so much. The toffee tasted absent and the chocolate chip was underwhelming. It seemed undercooked and didn't have enough chips for my liking. I thought the turtle tasted like what the chocolate chip should've tasted like (minus the caramel). I'm hoping that I just caught a bad batch on those two.

This is truly a hidden gem. The cookies were outstanding! My favorite cookie place in Houston is Tiny's milk and cookies, but this place is just as good with very unique flavors! I can't wait to go back and try some more flavors. I had a chocolate chip and cosmopolitan cookie. The service was great as well!

AMAZING! We got the ube white chocolate and the brookie and they were amazingggg! When we got them they were warm and gooey. Literal absolute perfection. It was a cute little shop that was clean and the service was fast. The owner was very sweet. 10/10 would recommend!

Glad I came across this place on instagram; Top 3 cookies I've had in Houston for sure! The variety is refreshing and unique compared to others places. The cookies are baked just right, which is also refreshing! At a lot of other shops, they are doughy and undercooked, but I feel like these are just right! The Toffee Walnut was my favorite. The owner CJ gave my coworker and I amazing customer service and even let us sample some of the ice creams before buying, I got the biscoff and it was very rich and decadent. Strongly recommend checking them out! Thanks CJ for the hospitality!

10/10. This place is a little hidden gem. I came in randomly. I got Brown Sugar Rocky Road and it was DELICIOUS!! No overbearing sweetness! And a mix of soft and crunchy texture.

When I stopped by on a weekday evening at 9pm it was packed. They had stations setup throughout the store to order different goods, which helped to alleviate the rush. Knafeh ($6) - They offered 2 types of knafeh, one with cheese and one with custard. I went with the one made with Nabulsi cheese and topped with shredded phyllo, and soaked in sugar syrup. It was warm, crispy and delicious! Karak tea ($5) - This milk tea drink was made with aromatic spices, primarily cardamom, cloves, ginger and cloves. I was happy to see they used whole milk instead of evaporated milk. The drink was incredibly rich and creamy and tasted great. Turkish delight ($18 / lb.) - This was extremely fresh, soft and chewy, made with cornstarch, sugar, nuts. Some of the varieties I tried had chocolate and/or fruits. The baklava here was fresh made with layers of phyllo dough, chopped nuts, and held together with some honey. The nut offerings here included, almonds, walnuts, peanuts and a few more. Overall I was impressed with everything they offered here with the exception of the nuts, which I thought were just ok. I'd definitely return if I was in the area.

Also got a bag of chocolates, which are weighed by the pound. The only qualm I have is that the chocolates are not labeled, so when you mix them all together, it truly is a bit of a Russian roulette on what you'll get. Everything was super yummy. Will definitely need to be back!

This is not a place you go to just have lunch or something. This place is an experience. Some adults might find joy in here (like I do), but my children definitely did, and that's worth it. They came here with the same excitement that they had for disneyland so I'm really happy about that. We all liked the harry potter experience and some different anime type experiences as well that my children liked. The foods and drinks are on theme and although it's not cheap, it's definitely not as much as Disneyland. We came on the weekends, but during lunchtime, and I can see how they might be really busy during the dinner rush. Sometimes you might need a timed entry to go in, but thankfully, we have not since we've been going. I will say that it's quite small and gets cramped really fast. I just think the experience of it all is a really cool and I'm happy we have fun places like this around us in Houston.

We ordered the Totoro Taiyaki which was filled with Ube custard & served with a scoop of ice cream of our choice. Our order was prepared promptly, and we enjoyed our dessert while watching some clips of Ghibli movies and trivia videos. The experience was adorable and interactive, and I'm looking forward to seeing what other themed cafe's Popfancy pulls off next!

Inside you will also find French pastries, coffees and teas, gelato, milkshakes, sandwiches and macaroons. I felt the most interesting items were the French pastries as they are cute and tasty as well. Also, they plate the pastries nicely when you dine in as an added bonus. I tried the Chocolate Royale and the Ruby. Chocolate Royale - a petit chocolate mouse slice with flat chocolate panels along the sides. It is delicate and tasty. If you're a chocolate lover, this is definitely up your alley. Ruby - visually this looks like a strawberry Hershey kiss, with red powder on the exterior and a top piece of foil to resemble foil on the wrapper of a hershey kiss. Inside, it's filled with a strawberry cream and has a chocolate base. I just wish there was more chocolate in this one. They have plenty of seating inside as well as along the sidewalk. Inside you have the more fancy tables, whereas outside, they're more weather resistant and not as upscale in appearance. The soft drinks to drink along with your sweets are in a cold case along the hotel side of the space and you just take them to the register as you order. One of the most surprising things when you come here are the relatively affordable prices as you might expect them to be more for being a coffee shop attached to a 5-star hotel with a helipad.

What's nudged this place up to 5 stars for me is they have really improved their coffee game, specifically their quality of cappuccino's. Previously it seemed more of latte, but now to me its a legit Capp. Their choice of pastries hasn't changed, which gives you a good assortment of choices and they have added an additional barista or server which also is a nice touch for service. The only niggling items, parking can be tough, so you'll have to either walk a block or be quick to find a place close by. Since we were already in the area after breakfast at TJ's Filipino Cuisine, we finally got the chance to stop by and try their baked goods for ourselves. We arrived early, so the bakery wasn't too busy yet. The bakers were busy prepping more goodies in the back while my cousin and I browsed all the Filipino baked goods we really miss from back home in the Philippines. They even had suman, sapin-sapin, biko, and other kakanin, which was nice to see. I specifically looked for the chicken empanada, and my cousin wanted to try the ube white chocolate chip cookie. We also saw different kinds of siopao and planned to come back later to buy some before heading back to San Antonio. We tried the ube white chocolate chip cookie first, but honestly we weren't totally satisfied. It tasted more like a regular white chocolate chip cookie with purple coloring and didn't really have much ube flavor. I also tried the chicken empanada. My cousin didn't like it because it was sweeter than expected--we were both expecting it to be savory. There seemed to be caramelized sugar in the outside of the pastry, which probably added to the sweetness. I still like it, though it was definitely sweeter than what I'm used to. Red Ribbon's chicken empanada is still my favorite. Later that day before leaving Houston, we came back for the siopao we planned to take home. We finally decided to just buy a couple pieces for ourselves, heat them up in the bakery, and try them fresh. When we saw the price for a four-pack, we were honestly disappointed. It felt expensive for the size. The siopao wasn't huge, and while I like the dough, there wasn't much chicken filling inside. For the portion, taste, and quality, it felt overpriced. Overall, it's probably not worth making another trip back for us. We did enjoy the cassava ube suman, and I like the chicken empanada, but not enough to drive all the way to Houston just for those. If I live nearby, I might come back to try other baked goods, but based on this visit, I'm not sure the rest would impress my palate. I still give them credit for cleanliness and customer service, although we did notice fruit flies on one of the shelves and reported it. The staff was friendly, and the bakery itself was welcoming. At the end of the day, since they're a bakery, the expectation is great-tasting, quality, mouthwatering Filipino breads, pastries ", and kakanin. While some items were enjoyable, overall it just didn't quite live up to the hype for us.
