    Possum and Racoon art

Cute boutique with possum art. Artist also loves possums so much that she helps a possum sanctuary. Talented artist. Please come and support her great art work and her possums.

I'm simply obsessed with Sesame the opossum and this artist and this store.. I come in every time I'm in town and this time just melted for the Sesame pants (for me) and MG beads (gift for friend)- I'm a fair weathered vegan and this place makes me stronger

Honestly, this was one of the highlights from my trip. I stopped for bubble tea at a shop nearby and walked around while sipping on it. I walked past this shop, and the giant opposum statue is what got my attention. Boy, I am SO HAPPY I came into this store. I probably spent about 30 minutes in this shop. The worker there is the artist's sister, so she provided me with a ton of information and background on the artist and some of the pieces displayed. I absolutely adored this shop. First, it's very pro animal rescue and animal rights, which I love. Secondly, it's so cute inside!! About 90% of the store is opposum themed. They have so many different categories of things to buy, such as jewelry, hats, socks, shirts, prints, pins, stickers, decor, etc. And the prices are good considering it's an independent artist with a lot of talent. I loved this shop so much and it's definitely a serotonin boost. I will be checking out the online store too!

Because I'm cute and I know it.

First things first! Jan is awesome! The store is super clean and cutely setup. Jan was more than accommodating, i arrived to the store kind of late, but she was patience and stay with me. My hubby loved the pictures as well as the socks I bought him. Stop by, meet Jan, buy some socks, look at the art, then buy a picture.

What a super cute place that is adorable and so very scrumptious! I want one of EVERYTHING! Seriously, I need to hit that lottery so I can get one of every single thing! I happened to be in the area for something else, saw this place and knew I had to stop in. Filled with clothing, artwork, candles, stationary, stickers, tea towels and just so much cute stuff! And they are promotors of things vegan, which is so very cool in this city. Woman owned, locally owned. This will soon be my go to for gifts for myself and others! And I will happily bring others in when I can! Shop small, shop local.

I absolutely love this place. We've been buying artwork, apparel and other items from Cocoally for almost 13 years. This was our first time in this boutique and were so excited to actually meet Ally. She even took our picture for us. It's a must if you're ever in NOLA.

Ally Burguieres is an extremely talented artist, specializing in whimsical animals such as possums and cats and - - with a heavy emphasis on veganism. She is a possum rehabber and runs a possum rescue. This is headquarters, where they have everything (there is also a gallery in the French Quarter). I'd never been to this shop before and I'm so glad I did except my budget is now at issue.

One of these situations where I wish there were 10 stars to give. It's a special delight that today I had the chance to support a compassionate lady / VEGAN / artist right here in NOLA, by bringing her adorable and stunning artwork into my life! ... It was a fun shopping experience, I bought several [vegan forward] animal prints, canvases, magnets and a tank top. I love everything so much but the little hanging fruit bat is my fave. This has been the highlight of my NOLA adventure. I felt so fancy coming back to the hotel with a bunch of local art and can hardly wait to see these beautiful pieces up in my home! I know my family and friends will be impressed and I will send them straight to Ally's online gallery! PS: cocoally.com (her website) has a vegan guide to NOLA. By way of that list, I found a place to order vegan pizza and am on my way to pick it up now

This is a super cute store with gifts for all of your friends and family. Prints, jewelry, and clothing by the artist, Ally Burguirres. All with animals - real and supernatural (unicorns, Alice in wonderland, etc). I was able to find a cute T-shirt for my teenage nephew's birthday and a unicorn print for myself. The staff was very patient and very helpful. Great store for supporting vegan and animal causes. Street parking on magazine.

Omg how adorable! How cute! How fantastic is this spot?! I shared how whimsical this amazing shop space is. It caters to all with various items that are unique but feel like they were made just for you. I literally felt like a kid in a candy store while there. I expressed how amazed I was with the space and how with the set up, it makes the space seem larger and open! Along with my swag bag, I purchased a unicorn print for my goddaughter who loves them. It's the perfect gift for a unicorn loving 10 year old to put on the wall of her new bedroom! Thank you so much to the wonderful ladies who were my guides on this experience and thank you to our Yelp fairy godparents for this opportunity to showcase a local and unique business!

This is the cutest little shop featuring items with the artwork of the store's namesake, Ally Burguieres. The store front is very inviting with cute artwork in the window and a huge colorful possum sculpture in the entryway. If you are looking for a place to purchase fun gifts for someone young or old, this is the perfect place. I was able to shop for my whole family. An art print for my seven year old, a onesie for my infant and T-shirts for my husband and me. This place is also perfect for animal lovers as it is a vegan boutique and all of the artwork features cute animals. In addition to great products and a warm space, the staffers working here are kind and just seem happy to be there and excited to help customers. I will definitely be back next time I'm looking for unique gifts.

When I worked at a Pandora store in Chicago several years ago, I was made aware that every city has their exclusive charms, and I knew I needed a New Orleans one. The sales associate with red hair (she never gave me her name) who helped us was really sweet, it didn't take long for her to notice that I needed some help, and she even left the charms out for me to look/touch while she went to grab her glasses. I can appreciate her for trusting that I wouldn't walk right out the store with the product, and the one charm that caught my eye was the Cathedral with a blue backdrop. She was sweet to explain to us that the cathedral is right around the corner just walking distance from the shop, and we actually saw it right by Jackson Square on our way to Bungalows. I love how this is a boutique but they also carry so many different brands of jewelry (Alex & Ani, Brighton, etc), and they had a designated Pandora section that's visible right when you enter. I'd recommend Bungalows to anyone in the area looking for some Pandora charms or a boutique.

Ultimately, Swap has singlehandedly eliminated my need to ever go to Lakeside Mall or Canal place, and has given me the wonderful ability of clicking delete when I get a sale notice from Banana or J. Crew because I know I can get the item at Swap in the same condition for less money. First, the owner, Michelle, is fabulous. It is like she has read every how to make your employees and people around you respect and love you book on the market. Or maybe it's innate for her. I don't know. Michelle is a genuinely kind person, who signs every single one of her business' emails with every single store associates name. In a world of faceless corporations, that means a considerable amount. Swap discounts items on a schedule. I know they do at 30 and 60 days, so you can take a gamble and watch an item if you are in love. Swap has only been open for a little over two years, and nearly half of my wardrobe went to be consigned there and the other half has been rejuvenated by it. My finds include Theory shirt dresses for 15 dollars, silk Club Monaco skirts for under 30, Coach wallets and wristlets, Tory Burch clutches for under 100, a Guess red peacoat that was Blair Waldorf worthy for under 70, banana republic silk tops, etc. How did this happen you say? Michelle opened her store in a section of town that has wealthier liberal arts schools literally 2,500 feet away (tulane and loyola) and is wedged in a wealthier part of new orleans. So, an influx of a revolving market with a disposable income. Brilliant! She works her butt off to get the word out about her store to New Orleans' ladies who lunch who then bring their garmets here. (Thankfully) There is no hipster ridiculous pretentiousness here (Im lookin' at you Buffalo Exchange) and they are always kind when you consign your items. I have never been treated anything but wonderfully by Michelle and her crew. If you are in the area, make a point to stop here. Honestly, I would work here for free if it were legal, but well, we both know there are labor laws. note: sign up for store emails because Swap loves coupons as much as you budget fashionistas do, and they also have an ebay edition of their store.

Then I found out from the shop attendant that the state flower of Louisiana is the Magnolia! What??? My boyfriend's mom was born & raised in NOLA and loved our dog. She has been gone for a year and half, so finding this out strangely makes me feel connected to her and that she is still around. :*) Anyway, the sweet shop guy asked me to tell him the story of how my dog and I found each other. I recounted the tale of how I found her at PAWS Chicago, where she came from originally (Oklahoma), that she had a brother named "Steel", how she saved me from a life of stress, and then our connection to NOLA. I always appreciate when someone can create a warm and fuzzy moment. So thank you, Shop Guy! The collar is high quality all around - material and construction. I have purchased MANY custom collars for my baby girl and this has been the best so far. It's worth the money because I know it will last for a long time.
