Great potential. The coffee drinks were tasty and the variety of tea was wonderful. We didn't try any of the food this time. They need to streamline the menus (yes, too many menu boards) and minimize the selections a bit so the customer isn't so overwhelmed and to aid in the flow of traffic, as it were. It's too much: ice cream, crepes, sandwiches, soups, coffee, tea, iced drinks, specialty drinks... Less is more. The décor is fun, but we were grossed out at the really old chairs and couch that look like they were taken out of the Goodwill bin. We will definitely give this place another try if we are in the area, and we always make an effort to support local shops, but I can't yet say we would seek Cocohodo out if something else was nearby. read more

Very nice place and atmosphere. Also, very nice customer service. However the ice cream was disappointing; cool concept with the nitrous freezing, but ice cream wasn't creamy or tasty. I didn't feel it was worth the $5. Plus, the cookie we got for my son was hard and dry. Came here after our rather uneventful dining experience at Hoodadak for some sweets and as soon as we walked in we were greeted with a pleasant uplifting sight and smells all around! The decor of this establishment is very cute and festive. The liquid nitrogen ice cream concept I've heard so much about was also at this location so it was a perfect opportunity for my girlfriend and I to give it a shot! I ordered the Nutella Banana Crepe with a scoop of Strawberry ice cream and my girlfriend got the Chocolate Mint Ice Cream. The order took about maybe no more than 8 minutes to arrive which is pretty quick. The Crepe was tasty with nice ripe bananas and plentiful amounts of nutella and both of our ice creams were delicious, a LOT colder due to the liquid nitrogen which is an added bonus for us! The process in how they make the ice cream is very fun to watch as well! Children would run up and immerse themselves in the vapors spewing out from the other side of the counter was adorable. My sisters and I decided to stop by here for a quick dessert after dinner. The interior of this place is very nice and great for studying! I ordered a mint chocolate nitrogen ice cream! The main reason why my sisters and I came here was to watch the employees make the nitrogen ice cream! To our disappointment, the ice cream was made in the back so my sisters and I weren't able to see the making of the ice cream. However, one of the employees noticed we were waiting to watch the making of the ice cream and constantly apologized. She then went to get the ingredients and made another ice cream for another customer (for the same flavor we ordered since I guess they ran out in the back). But the other employee also servicing the front was also prepping for the ice cream and poured some nitrogen water?! on the floor in front of us (next to where my sister was standing) and we saw it evaporate as it touched the floor! So in the end, we were able to watch how the ice cream was made and was able to experience more than we asked for! But the staff was super friendly to us and I want to commend them on their impeccable customer service! TLDR: My sisters and I stopped by for a quick dessert after we ate dinner. Maybe I don't get what's special about this place? I went because of the reviews. It has a nice atmosphere but it's really nothing to get excited about. It's literally like any other local cafe I go to in other towns. Coffee was kinda pricey. Not a deal breaker for me though since I pay for the coffee and the atmosphere but I have to say the atmosphere was atrocious the day I went. First of all, the place was packed with asian families and while I have nothing against Asian people, this bunch was extremely loud, rude, and borderline obnoxious. There were two different Asian families who were loud and chatty. One of the families had a kid that started crying and I get that it's not their fault, it was the most blood curling screams I've ever heard a human baby make. Then another bunch of Asian ladies came in and decided to sit right next to where I was studying. I had my noise cancelling headphones on and I was listening to music but they were so loud that I could literally hearing them chatting in their native language above my headphones!! I took them off and at one point I swear the demon baby and obnoxious ladies were having a contest to see who could create more noise. I gulped the rest of my coffee down and left asap. This quaint place is Awesome! The decor is nicely done, the chairs are comfortable (not those hard wooden chairs you see at most coffee shops), and they have great crepes and Mocha Lattes. If you are going to complain about a 16oz Latte for $5.00 (most places have 24oz), then this is not he place for you. You can end up paying $30.00 for crepes and coffee for two people but the ambiance is what we like. One caveat, when all of the women come in during the day it's like a noisy real housewives convention and social club so if you need peace and quiet or need to study, you are better off at the library. In essence, the class of people creates a nice atmosphere and it is a very nice place to just get away and relax. read more

Ice cream is good but the shaved ice came as a surprise. I ordered a berry shaved ice and when it came out I thought they gave me the wrong thing. It had shaved ice at the bottom (barely any flavor), red bean paste (yuck) and some kind of cream on top with some banana and strawberry slices and blueberries. Not coming back! read more

FINALLY a cafe in Katy that isn't a chain. This is the perfect spot for a meetup with friends, a study-session, casual coffee date, or just bite to eat. I haven't explored their menu too much, but I am excited to go back and try their crepes. The coffee was delicious and the ice cream looked really good. Overall disappointing. I ordered tea and a Nutella and strawberry cake. The crepe was stone cold. So I took it up the the counter and asked if it was meant to be cold. The young lady said it was meant to be warm. I advised her mine was nothing but cold. Because I was short on time I requested a refund instead of a replacement. The manager/person in charge while processing my refund started to lecture me about how the crepe was made and explaining that there is no way that it could possibly have been cold. So I responded by asking him if he was calling me a liar? Of course he said no. He went on to further explain their crepe making process. By this stage I was very annoyed. He obviously does not understand how the food service industry and customer expectations work. As a customer I don't care about the processes all I care about is that I receive my product to an expected standard. That standard was not met. I don't know what he was expecting but... This cafe and ice cream shop is the cutest place in Houston, hands down! Ambience is amazing, I once stayed here for four hours to finish my term paper. Has a really good open layout coffee shop design, with little private booths and a big wooden workbench. The area is well lit with natural light and cozy. Great place to go for coffee with friends or a date ;) Their nitrogen ice cream is wowing and delicious. The nitrogen gives off a (completely safe) cold cloud of smoke that smells like the ice cream you're getting. I loved the strawberry ice cream and my friends enjoyed the peanut butter and green tea ice creams. They have a really good selection of food and drinks here as well like a Matcha Green Tea Latte. I'm in love with their strawberry banana smoothies as well! My mom really enjoyed their Banana and Dulce de Leche crepe when I took her here. It's also worth mentioning they have soups on most days.. I tried their butternut squash soup (roughly about $3.20 for a big cup of soup) and it was perfect for the cold night! Free wifi and are open fairly late. There's a selection of local organic honey/preserves and boxed luxury tea (a little bit more expensive but I've heard the tea is really good/worth it). All around just a really lovely place and I've recommended it to everyone in the area. Very comfortable and the staff working there are always super lovely. read more

Love their iced vanilla latte. I crave it on the regular. It has bold espresso flavor and creaminess. Their ice creams are also delicious. I've had their affogato, earl grey and strawberry. I'm amazed of how fragrant and strong the earl grey is. I've also had their walnut pastries but I'm not really a fan of those. read more

Love the place! Coffee , ice cream and treats! One thing they would need to change is their cleaning supplies. When you enter it smells heavily of cleaning supplies and especially when they clean while there are people eating . Highly recommend that they change their cleaning agents .
