Quality has gone downhill. It doesn't matter what you say when you order if you want it mild and say that you want it mild it will be 10 out of 10 spicy. Almost un edible. I've had several other issues on my last few orders as well. read more

Food tastes quite good compared to others in area but reducing quantity and also the volume of protein in the curry is getting reduced these days ( less pieces of paneer or meat). Flavorful, mighty portions, and friendly service! This is a MUST goto for local Indian food. When you walk in, order right at the checkout counter. I couldn't for my life read the menu hanging up behind the counter, the words were too small. But don't worry, they will help you order whatever you like. Definitely order the samosas. They are HUGE and full of flavor. Possibly the best samosas I have ever had. Filled with potato and peas.. My only regret, was only ordering 2. We decided on a smattering of chicken tikka masala, dal (yellow lentils), and saag paneer (spinach with cheese). Each dish comes with a side of rice so we also ordered 2 garlic naan to go with. WOW. The Dal is so fresh, you can see all the ingredients chopped up in there and lots of fresh garlic! The aftertaste lingers and it's so good with the naan. My recommendation is to review the menu (in the pictures) and order ahead of time. We needed to wait about 15-20 minutes for our order to be made. They have had a change in management in 2022 and the place has improved for the better! Their produce is fresher than Patel brothers, though some of them are overpriced ( fenugreek leaves, moringa , spinach). We go to Patels for green veggies and pick the remaining ones here. If you are looking for indian fish varieties and fresh meat look no further! Their chicken biryani quality is way better than the restaurants and their fish curry tastes exactly like home! I almost always am tempted to take their Togo boxes while running errands. They recently added a free chai if your bill exceeds a minimum. Their free chai is fresher than the paid stale ones in indian restaurants. Also try their crispy medu vadas on display, it's pricey but worth it. One of the few places that also sells kottakkal Ayurvedic medicines if you need one immediately. read more

This is some of the best Indian food I've had in the DFW area. It's not the kind of place you would dine-in, they just have a small kitchen and counter as part of their grocery store. Don't let looks deceive you, this food is to die for. Mutton biryani: so much flavor, great spice level, meat is perfect, I didn't want to stop eating it. Chicken vindaloo: spicy as hell just the way it should be, and not too oily at all! Onion pakora: True comfort food, crispy and not greasy Samosas: These were just fine, not the greatest I've had but still good Chettinad curry: Rich, ginger and garlic forward as I like it, not oily, very tasty Chicken tikka masala: I like their version of this because it's not totally overwhelmed with cream (don't get me wrong, it's in there, that's part of the dish, but it's not a crazy amount). Stop in to buy some spices and pantry staples, and pick up some curry while you're at it! read more

I rally wish I didn't have to write this review because the food is actually very good having had it a few times. The reason for the one star, and bad review is the atrocious service and that sadly means I will never go there again. The best way to describe this is via my experience... I work an approximate 20-25 minutes away from SpiceMart and having left work one lunch time for a half day thought I'll order food to pick up on the way home after making a stop at Lowe's for which I calculated about a half hour travel time. As I left work I made the phone call and was immediately put in hold, some 15 minutes later as I arrived at Lowe's I still hadn't been attended to so I hung up thinking to myself I'll call again after I leave Lowe's and hope I can pick it up as I pass by. Well... another hold time of about 10 minutes and I pass by... I am furious by now and decide to drop by and give them a piece of my mind. As I enter the store there is no one but a lady (owner?) who is just chatting away with the clerk stacking shelves ignoring the my still connected call! I proceed to somewhat heatedly tell them that I've wasted a half an hour trying to order food by phone to which I'm told 'sorry we're busy', again there are no customers in the store. At no point was the situation even attempted to be remediated. I'm sorry this isn't good enough, especially now when restaurants are eager for business and deserve it based on their customer service as well as food quality. I shall sadly not be going here again as service is of the utmost importance to me. I'll also note a few weeks back we had a neighbor get together and suggested we all all order from here and my friends had a similar experience with service and vowed to never shop there again. read more

Craved indian food and decided to try them out on UberEats. I ordered a masala dosa, butter chicken, samosas, and 2 orders of garlic naan. My order was packaged well. i was really surprised how big the dosa was! it was over a foot long! By the time I received my order, my dosa and naan were a little soggy but no biggie just heated it up in my air fryer. Dosa came with sambar and chutney which was nice. Samosas came with two sauces and the I really liked the darker one, short of sweet but much needed as the samosa was surprisingly spicy. Butter chicken was creamy with good amount of chicken. i wish the butter chicken was a tad more spicy but it didn't have a spice option on ubereats. Garlic naan was as garlicy to be expected. Overall I was happy with the quality of food, even my husband enjoyed it and he's not the biggest fan of indian food. We will order again! read more

This place used to be Spicemart. We ordered the biriyani thinking it would be the same as Spicemart used to provide (with the fried chicken). The biriyani was not good, tasted bland. The other items we ordered wasn't that great either and the quantity is much less than what we're used to. The only positive to this newly opened place is that it's clean , has a good stock of grocery items and the cashier seemed friendly. One of the best place to get fresh samosas , we order samosas almost thrice a week I did try their goat biryani , chicken65 , chicken curry and everything was delicious . We have ordered from here several times since the new ownership and we hoped it would taste the same as before. It doesn't. It's so greasy that the food has given severe indigestion which I've never experienced when it was under original owners. I'm so disappointed that I can't order from here ever again and we ordered regularly before it sold. Now we are forced to find a new Indian place that's much further from our house. That's frustrating because this location was so convenient plus I picked up grocery items at this location as well. I'm upset that the original owners said nothing to us before they sold. Most dysfunctional and disorganized place. The only good item available is their samosas. I have waited for 10 minutes at the cash register just to pick up samosas while trying to keep my 2 year old from creating chaos. This is not the first time this has happened to me here. The wait times are horrible even if you order way ahead on the phone. They seem to be always working inside the canteen trying to un-mess a messed up catering order. The first impression is welcoming, clean and well maintained Have often met Vinod who is one of the partners in this establishment and he is super friendly, welcoming and always helpful and goes out of his way in getting any questions answered or assisting with selection of food etc.. On the grocery side - their South Indian selection of masalas, snacks, pickles etc is vast and patrons have different options to pick. They stock fresh vegetables and you can also buy meat and fish from them. On the catering side - this is a great place for ordering mouth watering South Indian and a selection of North Indian food for large or small parties and their selection of food is excellent. Would highly recommend their Spice Mart Chicken special, beef Cutlets, fish curry, chicken curry, appams etc and they cater to wide range of food selection and Vinod is always helpful in letting you know of their specialities ... All the items I have ordered from them has been neatly packaged, freshly made, very flavorful and always been a winner. This is must try place for all foodies and especially if you are hosting a get together and need some great food options to serve your guests. This place is both Indian grocery store and a restaurant! Before ordering some lunch, we checked out the grocery store. There is an aisle entirely dedicated to spices, which is impressive. When I need some unique spices, I am definitely coming here. They also have a vegetable section, frozen food section, and a meat section which I was told is fairly new. After talking to the staff, they mentioned the store recently expanded so they are going through some renovations at the time (February 2019), but they should have their store 100% up and running fairly soon. They had a lunch special happening, which was a 2 item meal (one veggie, one meat) and rice for $5. There were 2 meat items and 2 veggie items available, so my fiance and I decided to order all 4 with the rice. When we took it home, everything was so good! I can't recall the names of the dishes, but here are my best guesses: tandoori chicken, butter chicken, a spinach dish, and another dish I forgot.. But whatever EVERYTHING WAS DELICIOUS! I believe the menu rotates, so I would love to try what else they have to offer. They also have a take out menu, in which items are made to order for you. The menu consists of your usual Indian food fare, as well as some Chinese items which seemed really interesting to me. I'm definitely planning to try it soon! The store/restaurant is located at a pretty quiet strip mall on the eastside of Allen, near Lucas. The staff is very friendly and nice. Glad to have an Indian store in Allen . They have all the necessary Indian groceries including vegetables and frozen food. They also have frozen fish varieties from India. You can also get freshly made rotis here. Their take out food is a must try. Authentic Kerala food including biriyani, porotta beef, fish and kappa, and meals. So glad to have an end-to-end Indian store offering everything we need at reasonable prices and friendly staff always willing to help. This may be the ugliest establishment in the entire area. I have never seen a place as tacky as this. Product strewn all over the place, food on the floor, merchandise left on pallets....just hideous. I couldn't even tell if the place was open. The cafeteria area had the lights off so I had to inquire if they were still making food. I got my food to go. Since there was no waiting area, I stood around awkwardly while they made it. The food I ordered was not very good. Masala Wok is better (if that tells you anything). Everywhere else I've been in the area is better. The prices were reasonable at least. They can have 2 stars instead of 1 because the naan was okay. I also appreciate that the rice came with the meal, unlike some other places I've been. But the butter chicken was just bad. read more

We have had plenty of indian/vegetarian cuisine from many different locations in town, and it is wonderful to have this near our home! Their menu has tons of items, and their Samosas are really good. A very pleasant surprise in an Allen strip center. After driving by and realizing that they actually sold cooked food in addition to groceries, my daughter grabbed a menu. She's been pestering us to try it out for a while, which would save us the trip to Vindu Indian Cuisine on Frankford. We placed an order for carry out at about 7:15 and was told it would be ready by about 8:00 (so plan ahead!). Some of my order was done at 7:45 and sat there while the rest was completed by about 8:05. Most of it was still pretty hot when it got home though! We got Chicken Zafrani, Laal Maas, Butter Chicken and Chicken Tikka Masala, as well as Chicken 65 and samosas as an appetizer (and about 3 orders of Nan). The samosas were great, and came with a very tasty cilantro-mint chutney and other sweet one I was not familiar with. The Chicken 65 was very good, and I would recommend it. The Laal Maas (a lamb red curry) was very good, as were the Butter Chicken and the Chicken Tikka Masala. We couldn't really tell the difference between the two, but one had a little bell pepper and the other did not. The Chicken Zafrani was good, but not anyone's favorite. To be fair, the bar was set really high with the other dishes. All of these were served with good basmati rice. The Nan was very good, if a little steamed by the time I got it home. The only knock on anything was the lack of heat - I like some heat in my Indian food. I highly recommend Indian Market for carry out, but I am not sure about eating in. It was freezing outside when I went to pick it up, and it was only slightly warmer inside. They don't seem to have a web site, the very cold interior, the wait times for some of the food and the low spice levels knock a couple of stars off, but the extremely convenient location adds one back. We will be back, and try some other things. We would order 5 out of 6 things again. read more
