They have the most unique Kerala items for sale. Jackfruit, banana chips, Matta rice, palada mix, etc. however, store is too cramped, some items look suspiciously old (and with no expiry dates). I was also cheated on quantity of paper banana leaf recently when he gave fewer, but charged me more for the same. Will try them occasionally (twice a year) for their unique items you can't find at other grocers, but otherwise, plan to give it a miss. read more

Like this shop for a quick grocery. Their prices are definitely high as compared to other stores. That's a big minus. They also need to be more organised in terms putting proper names and respective prices of the products on display. There is no way to know the price until you check out. I bot a box of mutton biryani today from this store. This was the most disappointing Biriyani I have eaten in the Bay Area. I have ordered or eaten Biriyani in at least 10 different places and this was the worst. It was a container full of rice with two small pieces of mutton thrown on top. A surprising gem of a little grocery. I came here because they actually keep fresh banana leaves, but they also had some fresh fruit that's hard to find and a great selection of foods as well as dried goods and flours. The staff was super helpful and generous. read more

This place is on the smaller side as far as Indian groceries are concerned, but they have frozen seafood (fish and crab), a specific coconut based products section, and breadfruit (not common). There's also a video section connected to the store that's sectioned based on language of film. Worth checking out, and I'm pretty sure there are a few things you can't get at the larger stores. read more

I could find everything I needed, though, and was a nice surprise as did not plan to go there (was buying some car stuff at the store nearby). My god I could not believe this place. What an amazing place to buy groceries to cook Kerala foods. My friend recommended this place when we were trying to find ada for payasam. They have cooking pots, naatu kozhi and goat meat too. Freshly grated coconut is their special. Chicken when cooked tasted way better and was very tasty. Yelp check in gave a discount of 5% (for purchase over $25) on total bill. Will definitely visit this place quite often. I want the owner to know that no social distancing rules are being followed. If you let everyone in at the sane time this store is too cramped to maintain any distance at all. Especially at line to the register. And the person at the counter serving me wasn't wearing his mask. This is my go-to store for Indian groceries. We get fresh cut vegetables, jasmine flower, mullai, fresh banana stems and banana flower. I go regularly for varieties of leaves(drumstick leaves, Vallarai and etc), and fresh grated coconut. I trusted and never checked, On 20July2020: they gave spoiled shredded coconut(It smells so badly). Definitely when they break coconut they would have easily known. I feel very disrespected. Most importantly, the vegetables there are fresh and almost all products are of better or same quality as compared to the other local stores and those that I compared were far less expensive. Grocery store smells and is really dirty. I went today and employees working in the store were not wearing masks. There were 4 people working and they kept on walking close to customers without wearing masks. I can't believe business is allowing this when Covid-19 cases are increasing in the county. OMG curry puff! I really miss the Indian bakery in central NJ near my parents' place, and have been searching all over CA for a place to get my fix, and I finally found it! I've tried the veggie puff and the samosa so far (because they were out of everything else at 7pm on a Wed.), but they also have egg puff, chicken puff, and something else. Spoke to the clerk and apparently sellout of these items is highly variable daily, sometimes as early as before lunch. I've seen some places that had signs for them but never seemed to have them so I guess the trick is to come in the morning before work. Prices are under $2 each, and samosas are a super-cheap 89 cents. Also, the passion fruit drink is not bad (though not as good as the passion fruit drink at Lee's, which is freshly made and has pulp and seeds) and only 99 cents! read more

But, Price is high compared to other Indian grocery stores; They also don't want to list the prices of any pulses or other products; So you don't know how much it costs and until you pay for it. Lot of expired items kept on sale. Expect the store to atleast check the expiry date before selling items. Today I picked up 2 packs of woman's Horlivka and frozen vegetables. All were expired for more than a year. Had a similar experience couple of weeks ago and had notified the store person. Totally disappointed that this is happening consistently. **Cheating** My wife brought fresh Tapioca from the store. We had previous experience that the tapioca turns to be bad and usually avoid it. This time we had asked and the guy in the counter and he guaranteed that they will take back if it is bad. We took it home and could see that the tapiocas were bad in which it had black lines inside and started smelling bad. This is common if the tapiocas are aged in the shelf for more days. Thought of getting it back so that others will be cautioned on the bad product. We gave it back today evening itself, the same day we purchased. This time it was some other guy and he refused to take the item back.He was not pleasant and little rude to me. To the management, The item doesn't cost more than 2$ but it's the trust which is broken with your service. read more

Back in the day when I was learning to cook East Indian food I would come here after they first opened. It was worth it for the funny looks I would get as back then I was the only 'gringo' walking the isles. Everything was sweetness and nice back then. Then something changed when they did not have published prices on items and I think they charged 'gringos' like me a lot more than others. I stopped buying my East Indian ingredients after a few awkward moments at the cash register getting high prices that I did not expect. Now I see someone has lowered the boom on them as the prices, even though they appear to be hand scrawled, with some analytical skills you can figure out the price of the bulk items on the shelf. I was making a vegetarian curry and needed Urad Dal and some fresh curry leaves for my recipe. From my receipt Abu was my checkout clerk and was really friendly. I would give 0 stars if i could. All the powder items/chappathis are expired. I got sick 2 times because of this. Idli powder, dosa powder, appam, chappathis ...everything is expired here. These items dont have expiry date on them. Only few of these items have expiry date on it and it seemed like the ones on the others were removed purposely. When i first got these items, i thought it would have been a mistake and then requested the owner to replace the items. He finally agreed to it after lot of discussion. I went to the store to replace the items and found to my shock that every single item on the racks were expired or didnt have an expiry date. Since he told he cant refund the money i bought few other items and also took one idly powder just to check whether its fine. To my amazement, it turned out expired after preparing idlis...
