I like coming here and ordering their kubideh (beef) and chicken thigh kebabs for take out. I usually have it with their rice and roasted tomatoes. Their pricing is very fair and there is a bit of a wait so order ahead if you can. Place an order at the register, make payment, then wait outside at the take out window with your number ticket. Service is prompt and friendly. Aside from the hot food/ deli, they've got a market of produce and other grocery items. I'm happy that the developer offered them space as I feel they are Mountain View staple. They have a good selection of international and I think Persian food products. Parking is a bit chaotic especially during busy times like during the lunch or after work times. There is some parking in front of the entrance and if you go a little further there is garage parking in the bottom. read more

It's our to go place for lazy days in the kitchen. Price has gone up quite a bit. I recently ordered to go for 5:15pm pick up, the green stuff's already not available. I was a bit disappointed since it tastes a lot better with onion and cilantro. Service is okay. I don't think there is a place to sit down so can't tell about ambiance. You can get your groceries done too while waiting for your food. The kubideh I ordered was a bit burnt, so the taste is very dry and like charcoal. Hope they do a better job next time read more

I've been coming here for ages... Well before the Rose International Market reopened in its new (current) location. Just haven't quite gotten around to reviewing the Rose... I remember the run down original location before the building caught fire more than a decade ago. Actually, I think it was 2010. I stopped by to get some grub and was shocked to see the place had burned down!! I was at a loss of words. The old spot looked like a hole in the wall; old, unkept and run down grocery store, but it did have more seating for dining in. I remember walking past several Persian folks eating on my way to place an order...lol I heard the building had burned down from a grease fire or something like that. I was ecstatic when they reopened the (current) bigger , brighter, cleaner and fancier Rose Market. As with almost all things overtime, food and goods have gotten more expensive. Each kubideh is $5.99, but they charged me two extra dollars because I bought the kubideh's "separate". Go figure - it doesn't make sense by definition, but you can't argue with them. As a Persian woman, I can tell you this is the best place in the Bay Area for kabobs. The prices are also the best, $8 for chicken thigh and $7 for beef koobideh (ground beef). This place is an absolute must for kebab lovers! Hands down, some of the best kebabs I've ever had. The meat is always juicy, perfectly grilled, and full of flavor, with just the right balance of spices. Generous portions, everything served hot and fresh. Drove all the way from SF for their Ash and Halim. Spent about $100 on 4 big containers of Ash + the toppings. there was no balance in the ingredients, there was more Sabzi than anything else in that Ash; you could only see a few beans and strands of Reshte in there. We had to dump it all. Then the next morning i warmed up the two containers of Halim i bought from there, it totally ruined all the memories i had of what Halim tasted like. What a disappointment!! The older gentleman with the black-rimmed glasses seemed rude and unpleasant but he did make me a good sandwich. That's probably the only bad thing I noticed about this place, but the food seemed to be ok and affordable. Nonethless it was a rice/dates/lentil dish that was $7.99 so I decided to try it out. The basmati was light, the dates added some sweetness and everything else was subtle. Their sandwiches were also at the same, affordable price so I decided on the Kotlet sandwich. It was a medium sized wrap sandwich and the ingredients seemed fresh. I'm not sure why I didn't try their kabobs and nobody was in line behind me so maybe next time I should just take my time to study the menu or perhaps do this when I drop by next time. I've also noticed some folks ordering through the side window in the past but I went inside the store myself after visiting the boba place next door. I'm looking to try either a kabob or one of the tandoori or lahori chickens next. Koubideh is my go-to so maybe that will surpass all the others or I may just be bold and grab all 3 since the price seems to be reasonable all under $20. We've been coming to Rose Market for decades. Whether we're grabbing groceries or stopping by for lunch, they never disappoint. The kabobs are always on point, juicy and full of flavor. We especially love the chicken breast with sweet rice (zereshk polo). They've got plenty of traditional Persian dishes too like ghormeh sabzi (beef stew) and fesenjan (pomegranate sauce over chicken) if you're in the mood to try something different. Even adding some salt, pepper and mild spices and good olive oil would make a huge difference. The food was freshly made with fresh ingredients which was its only saving grace. The meat had a little bit of flavor but the rest was unseasoned and slightly undercooked. Good Persian food is so hard to find so please be better so we can all enjoy your food. I used to regularly shop/eat there a few years ago, but their standards have really fallen lately! I bought a clamshell of pistachio with roasted chili lime type of seasoning. I put it away in my pantry, and a week later, after I absentmindedly ate some, I noticed there was a fine web inside the container. I was at Mr. Sun nearby and saw Rose International Market. I browsed their goods and were intrigued by their deli counter offerings. I ordered a koobideh skewer ($4.99) and paid an extra $1.50 for it to be a "super sandwich." The koobideh came out with tomato, onion, and parsley all wrapped in lavash. The price was very fair and the portion was generous. I ate half of my wrap and felt full. The koobideh was a bit dry and underseasoned, the wrap could have benefited from a sauce. I went back inside and bought a tub of mast-o musir/shallot yogurt from their deli counter for $8.15 ($7.99 a lb) to eat with my wrap. That made it slightly better but I still would have liked some additional sumac or something. My dining companion also enjoyed the grilled lamb livers ($3.99). They said the lamb livers had a nice char and weren't too gamey. The lamb livers also came on a bed of lavash. The grilled roma tomatoes (99 cents each) were sweet and grilled perfectly, I'd order them again. I would come back to try their other offerings if I happened to be in the area, but I'd opt for a different dish. Service was perfectly polite. We used to shop at Rose International on Big Basin Way in Saratoga but mostly for takeout. This location is way bigger and way nicer. It is a large and well-organized store. All your favorite Middle Eastern products and produce. Huge array of imported cheeses with the best selection of feta aka "white cheese" ever. The takeout counter is huge. They have a ton of bread, all sorts that I've never seen before. The store is big and spacious, seemed mostly clean. This place is amazing if you are in the mood for some good Persian/Middle Eastern food. We loved the food so much that we came back the next day for more. Of course, the kababs are the best here, but they also have plenty of vegetarian options. We tried quite a lot of items. Among the kabobs, the koubideh is good; we also tried the chicken kababs, but if you were to pick one, I'd recommend the koubideh. For vegetarians, kookoo sabzi is pretty good. I tried it as a sandwich as well as getting it à la carte. We also got hummus, shiraz salad, falafel, soup, and rice. Other than the kabobs, everything is from the deli counter and is served pretty quickly. The kebobs take about 15-20 minutes to be ready, as they're made to order. When in the area I always try to get a tray of koubideh and jujeh along with some rice and different stews from the hot deli to last me through the week (and then of course I totally open up my tray and start eating lavash-wrapped pieces with my hands while sitting in traffic on 237 - I know, I'm so ladylike). If you aren't lucky enough to snag a spot, you might need to find street parking or see if there's a spot elsewhere. Small section of fresh fruits and veggies. Prices seemed reasonable. There are a lot of dried and pantry products. I mostly came here to see what sorts of cool spices and specialty items they had. They do have 2 small shelf walls of spices - some are labeled with prices and others aren't. I was happy to find small packages of barberries. I love lamb tachin, so will be using my purchase to make my own at home :) Probably won't be here often, but great to know there's barberries here if I ever need more. read more

I love this place. Koubideh, crispy rice, outdoor tables. Only issue is there is about 1 smoker every 10 minutes outside. Makes it hard to enjoy if you're sensitive, pregnant, or have kids.
