Greetings world, So stoked right now! 2 weeks ago I lost 2 boards off my ski sled going out to surf donuts, Not realizing the boards had come undone we took off out to the point, once we saw they were missing we searched around for about an hour and a half. We did not find them :(. One of the boards I shaped myself with the guidance of the might Doug Yates ( Rocky's-Superior Glass) his name and mine were on it. Someone found them floating around the bay and took them to Coconut Pete's and the owner Billy asked Doug if he knew who these boards belong to and he called me up laugh said "did you lose and board Jon?" Came in trying to reattach my fin after I couldn't get the fin plate and screw to reconnect. Someone working there told me to bring my board in and started working on it right away. We couldn't get the original screw back in but he quickly replaced it and even gave me an extra plate and screw. I asked if I could pay for anything and he said not to worry about it. First time coming to Coconut Peet's surfboard repair. The Crew are straight to the point, and caring. Brought in my father's board, last ridden in 2005 before his passing. I've been meaning to get around to getting it patched and fixed up as a legacy board so I could hang it as a piece to remember him by. The board had significant damage to it, they were able to re-epoxy the damages and get it said and done by end of working day for $150. Incredible turn around time and price. Where do I even begin!!! If you glance to the right of the freeway driving from the San Diego Airport you will see this magical place. On a whim I got off and circled back. Upon entering, it is a treasure trove of vintage to modern surfboards. With prices that are approachable for all levels of surf enthusiasts. If you have a healthy habit of buying vintage/novelty surfboards this place is a must stop, when you're in the SD area. -the crew is incredible, like that old school southern hospitality everyone working had that same hospitable welcome that made my experience incredible. -I had a vintage board that I wanted to use as a template, and lo and behold Doug Yates @ Yates surfboards knocked it out of the park. -if you have a favorite board. When I imagine a "core" surf shop this is it. Absolutely epic and no BS. I brought in a board to get repaired and was immediately greeted with rad and genuine customer service. They let me know it wouldn't be a bad fix and would be done same day . My mouth about hit the floor, I was blown away haha. My last repair at another spot took almost 3 weeks. These guys are the best and when I picked it up a few hours later they couldn't have been nicer. The pricing was really fair and I really couldn't believe how fast it was done. The repair made the board look brand new too! They also have tons of used and new boards, something for everyone and a bunch of wetsuits too. Brought my board in w a small ding on the tail that was beyond my own ding fixing abilities. They quoted me $40 to basically fix up the entire tail which had some other small cracks. Then they did it in 1 day even though I didn't even ask them to rush. Great value, the repair looks good and they did it in 1 day. So sick. Cowabunga Dave was the nicest guy ever! I was looking to transition from a foam board to a fiberglass or epoxy one, but I didn't want to spend too much money. He helped me and my friends find the perfect board, and it was so inexpensive!! They had a huge 50% off sale section (and a bunch of super nice new boards, but a bit more than I was looking to spend). He even threw in fins, a leash and wax with it as well. Owner working there didn't give us the time of day. Came in with my boyfriend and was interested in a few boards and the owner was with another customer for about 10 or so minutes. Walked around a bit to waste time and came across another guy that was going to sell his boards to the owner, but the owner wouldn't take them. We decided to check them out, while waiting for the owner finish up yapping with his other client. When outside, the owner came running up to our cars yelling at us and the other guy to get out of there to sell his boards somewhere else. We weren't trying to buy the guys boards, and were just simply checking them out since we had time to waste, but the owner went off the rails, pretty much chasing us and the other guy out and calling him unprofessional and had some sort of other narrative in his head going on... glad we left and didn't give the owner our money, he was very aggressive. We will happily take our business elsewhere. Response to William: That guy was not trying to sell his boards to us, nor was he a vendor. Thank you for showing that neither you, or the business can take accountability for your extremely aggressive actions.
