Board and Beans is such a special little coffee spot! First of all, I absolutely love their environmental mission. Their sign about picking up a bucket of trash and getting a free coffee honestly blew my mind. Even little details like having real small towels in the bathroom instead of paper towels show how intentional they are about being eco-friendly. The coffee is also amazing! They have in-house flavors (always a plus), and I got the banana bread latte half sweet. It was so good and perfectly balanced. The setup is unique - it's more of a coffee kiosk attached to a surf shop, with a cute outdoor deck/backyard-style seating area behind it. When I went, most people were grabbing drinks to go, but there are benches where you can hang out and wait. There was a small line, but honestly it makes sense. Great coffee, meaningful values, and such a cool concept. Definitely coming back! read more

I love Surf Lounge! They serve delicious coffee with homemade syrups and lots of milk options! My favorite is their iced latte with the spiced cookie syrup. It seriously is the best latte I have ever had- and I'm a barista so that's saying a lot!!! The service is always so amazing and I love the way the shop is set up! Nice spot with nice seating, but sad to report that the coffee was just okay, nothing special. I think the surf shop was pretty cool, and they have a nice seating area in the back of the store. We were eating nearby and happened to stumble across this place by accident, but probably wouldn't come back again. read more

Went here for a study session on a beautiful day and it was so neat! Cool surf shop inside with vintage/retro decor, surf boards everywhere and retro surf pictures. The barista is at a coffee bar OUTSIDE the shop and it was so cool. Never seen this before. Everyone was so nice! I got a coconut vanilla matcha latte, not enough coconut flavor and could have use a bite more matcha. Sweetness was there i think id ask for less next time. Ill be back to study more! read more

I visited this location late morning during the weekend. There was a short line that went quickly. The cashier was energetic and nice - we love a coffee spot with welcoming baristas! He recommended their (new at the time) coconut water cold brew. I was skeptical but tried it anyways, and it ended up being surprisingly good! The coconut water diluted the cold brew out in a good way so it was more of a fun gentle refreshing drink than hit of caffeine. I haven't seen this drink elsewhere in san diego yet, and would definitely visit again to try something new or get the same cold brew! read more

Vibey coffee stand and surf shop close to the beach. Came in the morning and there plenty of regulars hanging out in the front patio. The barista was nice and offered some of her favorites as suggestions since we couldn't decide on what to order. Ended up getting an iced oat milk latte with their house made coconut vanilla syrup and a banana hammock with oat milk. Enjoyed the drinks while we checked out the shop that had a ton of cool things and surfboards scattered all around. The coconut vanilla was spot on and paired really well with the espresso. I typically don't get hot drinks but the banana hammock was tasty with a banana syrup and ghee mct oil, and the texture of the oil blended well with the steamed milk. Definitely a spot worth checking out! read more

Parked nearby and was able to order through the front and it was easy and convenient! Front staff was very nice and I ordered the lavender matcha ceremonial grade drink and my boyfriend ordered the coconut vanilla latte. The drinks were affordable and the menu had plenty of options. I thought the lavender matcha was good and not too sweet. The shop itself was nice, had plenty of seating as well. There was a deck in the back where you can relax and eat as well. We happened to stumble upon Surf Lounge while walking to another establishment and decided to give it a try. The barista was friendly and held good conversation, asking if this was our first time and giving us a punch card. I love that they reward beach clean ups with a free coffee. They have buckets and grabber arms available. Another thing we loved was their homemade syrups. Not overly sweet or fake tasting. These are smooth tasting syrups. My husband got the PB swirl and I got the banana bread, both iced with Oat milk. We also added cold foam. They can make any flavor cold foam. The cold foam was a bit thinner than we like but not bad. My only recommendation would be to get lids that have the mouth piece to drink out of. This would get rid of the need for straws but also let the consumer taste the cold foam at the same time as the latte. read more

I've been staying in La Jolla and desperately missed my coffee shops in LA. I saw that Surf Lounge had a banana bread latte and wanted to give it a shot! While it wasn't the most banana thing I've tasted, the latte itself was really good and the cashier was also the nicest. It is always busy on the weekends, but never too long of a wait. You can tell people enjoy this spot. Will be coming back to try the other lattes on the menu! read more

Boards and Beans in PB is on another level. Straight up the best coffee I've ever had, and I don't say that lightly. The vibes are perfect--laid-back, beachy, and effortlessly cool--but the coffee is the real star. The Banana Hammock is unreal... smooth, balanced, Hawaii in a cup. You can tell they actually care about what they're serving, not just slinging caffeine. If you're in PB and not stopping here, you're doing it wrong. read more

This a very cool surf shop and coffee shop combination. Even though it's not on the menu, the young gent made me a Cortado that I wanted. He told me they can make it anytime, even though it's not presently on the menu. The Cortado was very well made. It offered a very good robust coffee flavor and was pretty smooth except for a little tanginess towards the end. All in all a very good Cortado. Customer service was very good. The coffee shop is a Kiosk type structure that has been built in to the front of the Surf Lounge. They offer seating in front, inside, and the back of the lounge. read more

The prices here are definitely on the pricier side ($200-500), but I was able to get a good 5/3 wetsuit deal for about 120$. I'm excited to try it out. Fittings rooms are reasonable size. I felt like a seal when I was able to fully try one on. Lots of great selections to look at!!! My girlfriend wanted to get a bikini on the sale, but lots of the tops and bottoms were missing each other counterparts.

The high sand cliffs are beautiful backdrops to the amazing blue ocean. Colored umbrellas and bikinis scattered the beach. The California vibe is here! There is a small memorial idolizing local surfers who perished doing what they loved, surfing. A set of public restrooms is available. Parking and admission is free if you can find parking. Get there early, with the local surfers. No dogs allowed on the beach during peak beach hours.

The surf park sports restrooms and outdoor showers, and its own small parking lot for about several dozen vehicles. There's also a dedicated life guard station at this beach. The beach is beautiful. It is dedicated to surfers and wind surfing only, not swimmers, and I have heard my friends refer to it as "old man's" where older or beginner surfers surf. This beach gets pretty crowded on the weekend, especially during the summer months.

Now, Sun Diego Boardshop resides there and today I walked in for the first time and my mind is blown. This place is a massive clothing store! The staff was grooving to CSNY and Steely Dan. The beach vibe is at high tide. Service is outstanding, with Lance, Charlie, and their cool boss Ella. I bought a pair of black dungaree shorts and they are as nice an' comfy as Levi's, for about $45. They also sell surfboards and ukuleles too. He did half day surf camp for three days. 9-12. I took the days off work to be with him and watch. They provide wetsuits, so helpful. The Surf teachers were all so attentive and I felt safe having him there. It was 4 teachers for 11 kids. I loved hearing the teachers surf lingo. And just hanging out for the mornings with the kids and surf friends. Teachers did a morning stretch and then got them out on the water. My son was catching waves right away. Mid-day they had snack break and made sure to reapply sunscreen. Last day they had a pizza party at the surf shack for all the girls and boys.
