I love Surf Lounge! They serve delicious coffee with homemade syrups and lots of milk options! My favorite is their iced latte with the spiced cookie syrup. It seriously is the best latte I have ever had- and I'm a barista so that's saying a lot!!! The service is always so amazing and I love the way the shop is set up! Nice spot with nice seating, but sad to report that the coffee was just okay, nothing special. I think the surf shop was pretty cool, and they have a nice seating area in the back of the store. We were eating nearby and happened to stumble across this place by accident, but probably wouldn't come back again. read more

Went here for a study session on a beautiful day and it was so neat! Cool surf shop inside with vintage/retro decor, surf boards everywhere and retro surf pictures. The barista is at a coffee bar OUTSIDE the shop and it was so cool. Never seen this before. Everyone was so nice! I got a coconut vanilla matcha latte, not enough coconut flavor and could have use a bite more matcha. Sweetness was there i think id ask for less next time. Ill be back to study more! read more

I visited this location late morning during the weekend. There was a short line that went quickly. The cashier was energetic and nice - we love a coffee spot with welcoming baristas! He recommended their (new at the time) coconut water cold brew. I was skeptical but tried it anyways, and it ended up being surprisingly good! The coconut water diluted the cold brew out in a good way so it was more of a fun gentle refreshing drink than hit of caffeine. I haven't seen this drink elsewhere in san diego yet, and would definitely visit again to try something new or get the same cold brew! read more

Vibey coffee stand and surf shop close to the beach. Came in the morning and there plenty of regulars hanging out in the front patio. The barista was nice and offered some of her favorites as suggestions since we couldn't decide on what to order. Ended up getting an iced oat milk latte with their house made coconut vanilla syrup and a banana hammock with oat milk. Enjoyed the drinks while we checked out the shop that had a ton of cool things and surfboards scattered all around. The coconut vanilla was spot on and paired really well with the espresso. I typically don't get hot drinks but the banana hammock was tasty with a banana syrup and ghee mct oil, and the texture of the oil blended well with the steamed milk. Parked nearby and was able to order through the front and it was easy and convenient! Front staff was very nice and I ordered the lavender matcha ceremonial grade drink and my boyfriend ordered the coconut vanilla latte. The drinks were affordable and the menu had plenty of options. I thought the lavender matcha was good and not too sweet. The shop itself was nice, had plenty of seating as well. There was a deck in the back where you can relax and eat as well. We happened to stumble upon Surf Lounge while walking to another establishment and decided to give it a try. The barista was friendly and held good conversation, asking if this was our first time and giving us a punch card. I love that they reward beach clean ups with a free coffee. They have buckets and grabber arms available. Another thing we loved was their homemade syrups. Not overly sweet or fake tasting. These are smooth tasting syrups. My husband got the PB swirl and I got the banana bread, both iced with Oat milk. We also added cold foam. They can make any flavor cold foam. The cold foam was a bit thinner than we like but not bad. My only recommendation would be to get lids that have the mouth piece to drink out of. This would get rid of the need for straws but also let the consumer taste the cold foam at the same time as the latte. read more

I've been staying in La Jolla and desperately missed my coffee shops in LA. I saw that Surf Lounge had a banana bread latte and wanted to give it a shot! While it wasn't the most banana thing I've tasted, the latte itself was really good and the cashier was also the nicest. It is always busy on the weekends, but never too long of a wait. You can tell people enjoy this spot. Will be coming back to try the other lattes on the menu! read more

Boards and Beans in PB is on another level. Straight up the best coffee I've ever had, and I don't say that lightly. The vibes are perfect--laid-back, beachy, and effortlessly cool--but the coffee is the real star. The Banana Hammock is unreal... smooth, balanced, Hawaii in a cup. This a very cool surf shop and coffee shop combination. Even though it's not on the menu, the young gent made me a Cortado that I wanted. He told me they can make it anytime, even though it's not presently on the menu. The Cortado was very well made. It offered a very good robust coffee flavor and was pretty smooth except for a little tanginess towards the end. All in all a very good Cortado. Customer service was very good. The coffee shop is a Kiosk type structure that has been built in to the front of the Surf Lounge. They offer seating in front, inside, and the back of the lounge. read more

after reading all of the positive reviews about this place, I was excited to check out surf lounge today with my best friend. we loved how cute their outdoor set up was! but unfortunately, we were sadly disappointed. the iced matchas we ordered were okay, and the coconut vanilla cold foam I added on top was watery and there was barely any. not only were our drinks mid but the customer service was bare minimum. the barista did not greet us with a smile, which is something that i expected from a cute place like this. she strictly just made our drinks with a bare face and when i went to pick up my drink when it was ready, i kindly told her, "thank you" yet she did not acknowledge me at all... a little bummed that my high hopes for this place were shattered :( ***UPDATE 5/1/2025*** While my expectations for customer service from the barista that made our drinks were not met, i have to say that i admire the owner of surf lounge for addressing the matter and taking the necessary steps to resolve this dispute. it is understood that we are all dealing with things that others may have presumptions about. we are all human and have our not-so-good days!! overall, surf lounge is a chill spot for coffee and hangouts, especially for the locals!! read more

The prices here are definitely on the pricier side ($200-500), but I was able to get a good 5/3 wetsuit deal for about 120$. I'm excited to try it out. Fittings rooms are reasonable size. I felt like a seal when I was able to fully try one on. Lots of great selections to look at!!! My girlfriend wanted to get a bikini on the sale, but lots of the tops and bottoms were missing each other counterparts.

Now, Sun Diego Boardshop resides there and today I walked in for the first time and my mind is blown. This place is a massive clothing store! The staff was grooving to CSNY and Steely Dan. The beach vibe is at high tide. Service is outstanding, with Lance, Charlie, and their cool boss Ella. I bought a pair of black dungaree shorts and they are as nice an' comfy as Levi's, for about $45. They also sell surfboards and ukuleles too. He did half day surf camp for three days. 9-12. I took the days off work to be with him and watch. They provide wetsuits, so helpful. The Surf teachers were all so attentive and I felt safe having him there. It was 4 teachers for 11 kids. I loved hearing the teachers surf lingo. And just hanging out for the mornings with the kids and surf friends. Teachers did a morning stretch and then got them out on the water. My son was catching waves right away. Mid-day they had snack break and made sure to reapply sunscreen. Last day they had a pizza party at the surf shack for all the girls and boys. All 3 of my kiddos were smiling, and laughing, even though they were getting wiped out by some of the waves lol! Watching your kids light up with excitement makes everything right in the world...
