Delicious!!! We ordered Pad Si Ew with Pork, Drunken Noodles, Eggplant with Tofu, Garlic Rice and Mixed Vegetables with Shrimp. Everything was fresh, flavorful and cooked to order. Small indoor area for seating with a tiny set up of gifts for sale. It's a lovely little restaurant with a very nice hostess/waitress. Parking available in the rear of the building. my favorite thai food spot! they are always so nice whether i am ordering in person, over the phone or uber eats. the pad thai is my usual. the portions are great. they make tiny eggs rolls that are addicting. whenever i ask for extra sauce or jalapeños they always accommodate. super helpful staff and great food! read more

What a pleasant little find we stumbled across looking for a quick spot to eat in the area! We came in around 2pm so it wasn't busy at all and promptly seated. I'm almost sure there was 1 lady working, took our orders, cooked and served us while addressing 2 others that had come in during our time there. We got the lunch specials - a yellow curry and pad Thai. GREAT GREAT pad Thai, I love a saucy one and this one really hit the spot. Both came with white rice, salad and an egg roll. We have so many good memories of Takzin, that once we noticed it open again, we immediately went for dinner. Best decision we made! It was Christmas Day. None of my usual spots were answering their phones, and I wanted to grab food on the way home. So, a quick map search led me here. I called, they said they were only accepting pick-up orders. Fine with me. I ordered my usual go-to items, pineapple fried rice with shrimp, pineapple shrimp curry, and beef pad see ew. When I arrived, there wasn't a single customer inside. The seating had been rearranged like it was during the no dine-in Covid shutdown. Talk about flashbacks! I picked up the order & sat in the car talking on the phone for a bit. During my stay, not one other customer arrived. Granted, this was 7:30 at night on a holiday. So, at this point it wasn't all that strange. Then I drove home. My route took me past 2 of my usual places (both of which I had tried calling) and at least a couple other Asian restaurants. As I passed each one, I noticed their parking lots were full. No wonder they didn't answer, they didn't have time to! Then I got home. That's when the real disappointment began. The Pad See Ew had an off putting, chemical? smell and flavor to it. I thought perhaps it could be because of the plastic container. Unfortunately, it made the dish inedible. Then we tried the fried rice. It wasn't nearly as bad. It was overseasoned. Hopefully tomorrow the curry will be decent and cover some of the seasoning up. Next year, I'll know to not even bother calling and just show up at one of my go-to places to wait like everyone else. Merry Christmas! read more

My family and I just moved to the area and were looking for a Thai food restaurant to replace out beloved Thai BBQ in Long Beach when we came across Coconut Thai Cuisine. It's a cute and cozy restaurant with helpful staff. Unfortunately, due to the current state of inflation and supply shortages, it seemed like the restaurant is down to a bare bones operation with takeout and delivery as the only options at the moment. We ordered some veggie pad thai, pad si ew with tofu, fried tofu appetizer, vegetable chow mein, authentic fried rice, and some Thai iced teas to wash it down. The Thai iced teas were delicious. Sweet and creamy in a large container. I really enjoyed it and I definitely recommend it. The food portions were also big, but honestly I felt that a lot of the food was a little too bland for my taste. The pad si ew is my go-to at Thai restaurants and this version left me unimpressed since it lacked that sweet/savory combination that is usually the highlight of the dish. The noodles were a little dry and overall it could have used a bit more sauce. The fried rice was bland and could have used some salt/seasoning. The fried tofu had a wonderful texture and crunch to them, and the sauce it came with was delicious. I do recommend that as well. As for the pad thai, it was also similarly bland. Overall, I have to admit that I've had better food at other restaurants but I will say that I wouldn't rule this place out completely. The Thai Iced Tea is legit and the portions are satisfying. Just be sure to ask for some extra soy sauce and some sriracha sauce on the side and you'll be good to go! read more

I had been craving Thai for weeks and wanted to try a new spot. Trusty Yelp pulled up Coconut Thai for me, so we gave them a try. Calling in to place an order was a breeze, but there are many online options, too. I wanted to order the green curry for my husband, but it wasn't working online. We found out after calling them that it was because it just wasn't available. We ordered the yellow curry with chicken and jasmine rice, drunken noodle with tofu, and chicken wings. The yellow curry was a delicious substitute for green curry. The portion of the rice was bigger than most places! The drunken noodle was a little bland and didn't have a lot of veggies. I thought mild would've had some spice, but it was 0 spice. I think I'll try another dish next time. The chicken wings were amazing. Wow, that sweet and sour sauce is so so good! And it was still piping hot throughout the meal even after bringing it home. I'm excited about finding a new great Thai restaurant that's priced right. To top it all off, as a family that's still quarantining like we're in a pandemic, we really appreciated the pandemic-friendly setup at the restaurant. It's take-out only and the tables are set up to avoid person-to-person contact. It's refreshing for us to see others acknowledging the gravity of the COVID-19 pandemic. Thank you, Coconut Thai! No dine in, only take out. Ordered Tom Yum noodle soup, crab ragoons, pad-see-ew with beef, crying tiger, and BBQ chicken. Crying Tiger was cut very thin and cooked well. Juicy and flavorful. That's the only one that I can recommend. Tom yum noodle soup was pure chilli sauce, you can't taste any other flavor. No finesse and balance on this dish. My nostrils flared and I was in near tears just by smelling the soup. I am a fan of spicy food, but this was next level. Not at all enjoyable. Wife and I tool one bite each, and straight to the trash can. Crab ragoons was like the rest, unpleasant. Supposed to be "crab" and cream cheese. It was more like 99% cream cheese and 1% crab. False advertising here. Pad-see-ew is a family thai favorite. Their version was "alright" at best. The noodle was cooked just fine, but the problem was that the beef had a weird taste. That's the best I can describe it. BBQ chicken is an epic failure. Dry and hard as hell like a rock in the dessert. No joke folks. This is disrespectful to paying customers. My two dogs refused to eat it! I don't get the good reviews. Fake reviews? I am sorry, but I cannot recommend this place. This place would have gotten a zero if I could. read more

Food was hot and I got the order right. Chicken satay was good and so the glass noddles. The one think is that for such a big portion of models to add just 2 tiny soy bags is just not enough. Oh, my goodness, I am so happy I found this place! There are quite a few Thai spots in the area, and many of them deliver, but Coconut Thai Cuisine is a definite standout. First of all -- the DINNER SPECIALS. Yes, a whole combination for $10.95. Available during dinner. That's practically unheard of. You get one entree (pick your protein), some egg rolls, a side salad and shrimp fried rice. Add a Thai iced tea for $1. I've had Yellow Curry and Garlic Pepper, and I would absolutely get both again and again. Such a great portion for a reasonable price. Second -- free delivery. Minimum is $20, which is totally feasible with a dinner special and an appetizer. My orders always arrive ahead of the estimated time. How convenient, since I'm always ordering for delivery when I'm already pretty hungry. Service comes with a smile, no issues, no hassles. I've only ever ordered for delivery, so I can't speak to the actual restaurant or pickup. I would absolutely recommend getting an appetizer and asking for peanut sauce if it doesn't already come with some on the side. Their sauce is sooo good. I've tried the Beef Satay and the Hand Rolls (basically spring rolls). The Hand Rolls were straight-up veggies, and I expected some noodles. I wouldn't get it again, but I'd recommend it for anyone who loves veggies. The Beef Satay was on the smaller end, but delicious. One of these days, I'll get around to trying the Pad See Ew -- my favorite Thai dish. It's unfortunately not on the dinner specials menu, but that's not a problem. Ordered Tofu pad Thai. I was actually surprised at how yummy this was. It reminds me of a noodle cart down the street from my house in Bangkok. It's flavorful, and I requested Thai spicy which they honored perfectly. If you can't handle heat, don't ask for thai spicy. I thoroughly enjoyed this dish.
