AWFUL, unprofessional, and rude. Bought bridesmaid dresses her for a wedding and had nothing but issues. The dresses are for a wedding coming up in August, we ordered the dresses in January and we STILL do not have all of the correct sizes as of July. The first time the dresses were ordered, they were ordered in the wrong sizes (tho all the girls were measured). So, when they came in, girls had to switch and swap dresses to try to make it work. While all the switching was going on, the sales people were rude and inattentive. When I asked one of them to write down the switches so we had an accurate sense of which dresses we were taking and who needs a dress reordered she replied (as if annoyed), "Um we know what we are doing it is all taking care of". Well, they didn't know what they were doing because after reordering the dresses for girls that couldn't find a "swappable" size, we came up with one dress STILL in the wrong size. To add insult to injury, we never heard from them if the dresses were in (the reordered ones) so we just went there nervously, hoping they were one day and they were, however, when I asked how long they had been in the woman, Trish, said for "months". I asked why no one called to let us know and she replied, "you should have called that's not our job and it's not my fault I'm not in charge of these orders." Still trying to have hem fix the one that is wrong and having trouble talking to anyone other than the rude salespeople. When I call the store the salesperson on the phone literally told me that no one can help me and I need to call back another time. And they accuse me of being rude and act very defensive as if I am personally blaming the sales people for messing everything up. They are argumentative, uncouth, unprofessional, and have no sympathy for a customer who has worked with them SINCE January and attempted to remain calm even though it's been mistake after mistake after rude comment. I WOULD NEVER recommend this cluster mess of a store TO ANYONE. STAY clear. The dresses are gorgeous BUT the store doesn't make them, they order them so go somewhere else to get your le femme or cherri people! UPDATE: Cocos saw this review and called my mother and said we are not allowed back in their store unless I remove this review. Unprofessional yet again. Thy also haven't fixed the situation and quite honest I will find a professional seamstress and business that will accommodate our needs and will NEVER be stepping foot into cocoa again. Miss VF, I feel very badly after hours of speaking with you, you felt the need to write a review, over a prom mailer. Both our stores have taken numerous phone calls from you and have received many threats from you, simply because a prom magazine was sent to her home. Miss VF, you have never visited either of store locations. We tried our hardest to explain to you that these magazines were sent out randomly to more than 21,000. high school students. No names were ever issued nor addresses were ever revealed to us. they were simply a bulk mailing which as I explained, were not sent from our store, but through a separate company. Both store managers, Joanne and myself explained this, Miss VF for more than an hour each and every time you phoned our stores. It is sad that someone could be so upset over a prom magazine, this magazine simply showed 2014 prom dress styles nothing more. Many stores through out the United States send mailers to potential clients, such as Macy's. That was the only connection made between Coco's Chateau and Macy's. Miss VF, you made many threats to both our stores and persist in writing negative reviews over a mailer. Neither Joanne nor myself ever rude to you. We both take pride in our client service. We were patient and spoke with you every time you phoned our stores over a mailer. Most young ladies that received these mailers are excited to see the new styles out from all the top designers in the prom industry and are equally excited to come to the store and try on these dresses on. Coco's Chateau has 7,000 dresses between its 2 store locations for all social occasions including MOB and Bridal and our staff is always there to assist . In our 5 years of business this is the first time someone has ever gone to this extent over a mailer. We are sorry that you were so offended by your daughter receiving a mailer, but as we stated we had no idea who receives these mailers and the fact you disclosed nothing to us to provide any further assistance than what we have already expressed to you.. OWNERS ARE DISGUSTING AND INTRUDING- OPENED CURTAIN WHILE CHANGING. PLEASE READ TO THE END. I've been to this store hundreds of times looking for prom dresses for my sister. However, today I went looking for myself and a friend and the first thing that happened when we walked in was only a hint at what our whole experience would be like. We were told that we needed to be guided around to look and when I had said I wasn't sure what style I wanted the staff told me I needed to do more research and come back and handed me magazines as opposed to leading me around the store to get ideas, although we were the only customers- the staff is lazy. When I happened to spot a dress I liked the owner simply said "No" when I asked why she said "That's not even your size" and didn't bother looking to see if it was available in my size. The most appalling part occurred while my friend tried on a dress. She was in the dressing room while 6 staff members gathered around the small room to wait for her to put on a dress. The sheer curtains provided no coverage and as if that was not disturbing enough, the owner opened the curtain while my friend had no top or bra on! She was completely humiliated in front of the entire store and the owners did not even bother to apologize. Two younger girls were a bit more kind than the old women who tried to force her to try on dresses and stared though the curtains continuously. The 3 or 4 old women are extremely disgusting and even looked through the sheer curtain as I changed to take the one dress I tried on the moment I had taken it off, while my mother was in the room and thought they ought to be reported for acting nearly like perverts towards my friend and I. The rude staff even talked about me as I was in the room saying mean comments about how I "didn't want to try anything on" and that I acted "moody" when they tried to show me around just because I had not liked the options they tried to force on to me. I have never had such a disgusting experience and I hope that no one ever has as terrible as an experience as I did. read more

When my daughter needed a prom dress I was recommended this shop from numerous parents in the area. The parents explained that it is close and has a great selection to choose from. My daughter was not happy however she finally found a dress and we returned a few years later. This time it was for a dress that was tried on in a different size that what we needed. She was not measured with a measuring tape instead the rude staff made up a size and ordered it. I trusted their opinion but boy was I mistaken. I was told the dress would be in 8 weeks after being ordered and it did not come in for 4 months! Crunch time! When I picked up the dress it was huge and looked like it was kept in a ball for months! The staff yet again were all very rude and pushed me out the door once I said I had somewhere else for alterations. There was no written receipt given to me. All I was given was a piece of chicken scratch stapled onto the bag of the dress. I will never recommend this place to anyone! In the end it came down to the store being disorganized and very unprofessional ladies. The owner was never in sight to speak to either! I found a Sherri Hill prom dress that I wanted to try on and possibly buy for my wedding gown in the height of prom season (nightmare). I was in contact with the North Jersey store because they were literally the only store in NJ and PA that had this dress (trust me I called and emailed them all). The North Jersey store was not willing to ship the dress to the Sewell location because it was their last one and they are so busy; needless to say I was frustrated. I called the Sewell location and explained my situation and that it's a 3 hour drive for me to the other location. She called the North Jersey store 2 times and convinced them to ship the dress to Sewell with out holding me to any commitment to buy or paying any shipping fee. The dress came in 3 days later and they woman at the store could not have been more kind & helpful. I loved & bought the dress! Yes, the store is a little on the smaller side but they had a TON of hard to find dresses and with a smaller store comes a better consultation. Without the customer service of the Sewell store that was above and beyond I would not have gotten my dream wedding dress =) read more

These woman truly care about their customers. Coco was the first place I went to to shop for my wedding dress. Joanne had opened the store two hours early for me my mom, mother in law and sister! She was extremely knowledge able with the industry! Of course like any newly engaged girl I had hundreds of pictures of dream dresses and styles. She was patient, fun and comforting. Joanne insisted on trying on a little of everything and she was right the 3rd dress I tried on was one me and my party hated due to the coloring. Without me knowing she had me try on and we all fell in love with the dress! Between our wonderful first experience of the store and my countless visits to try on my dress in between I could not be happier with the service from all of the women at coco chateau! Terrible service. Horribly rude manager who raises her voice at clients after she was the one who made a mistake about pricing a dress alternation. She had the nerve to scream to "leave right now" after being asked a question about the pricing. Unprofessional as well- went to discuss what was going on with other clients and called us "stupid and incoherent". I do not think that's a way to speak to clients who spent over 600$ for a dress. I will never be coming back and I'll be sure to tell everyone I know about how terrible this place is. For a manager to tell clients that they are a waste of time is unbelievable. If I had known what service is provided here, I would have NEVER purchased a dress here. They do not deserve even one star! read more

This disgusting business has been screwing customers over for years. Their customer service is horrendous and the positive reviews are made by friends, family and employees. The haggard bleached blond looking old lady owner and her equally heavily bleached busted looking daughter, are money hungry vultures. Unless you're a pageant puppet who uses their name to promote them on social media, you will be treated like a peasant. They blame all customers for any problems and have no clue as to how to treat the general public. Money is their game and bleach is their middle name. Where to even begin. I ONLY write reviews when I have a wonderful experience or an unfathomable one. My experience with Coco's Chateau was unforgettable. To begin, I called Coco's to look for pageant swimwear. Joanne was extremely helpful and had swimsuits from another location shipped within a day to their Little Falls location. When I visited Coco's, Joanne also helped me pick out the right color/suit for me and as a team the whole staff was very involved in giving advice for the pageant experience and were very real. Man where to start. This place has beautiful dresses but a horribly rude staff. I wish I read the reviews before I even wasted my time because I would have known not to go! Any business that only has 5/5 stars or 1/5 stars on both their Facebook and yelp review page has to be a complete joke. Weird too how it seems there are always awesome reviews written shortly after detailed, negative review that seems to write the opposite of the negative review. I am so glad we did not listen to some of these reviews and we took a chance. We had a great experience buying my daughter's prom dress this weekend. This was not the first prom store we went to. After visiting many other stores through out NJ and not having the best experiences, my daughter wasn't sure she would ever find a dress. I am so glad we made the trip here. The store is beautiful inside and they have such a huge selection of gowns. The store was very busy, but the sales staff were so helpful and made my daughter feel special. How would someone know that everyone makes threats, how the owner behaves and what is stored in their computer? I shopped at the Sewell store and had a nice experience. I am beyond thankful to have found Cocos! My daughter began to get discourage when we started shopping for prom dresses because she's a little bigger than the average size girl. Wherever we went none of the gowns fit, or there wasn't much selection for her size. We stumbled upon Coco's chateau, and they were so nice to my daughter! I was there when people were picking up alterations and their dresses were fine and the seamstress is the sweetest little old lady. There must be more to the story then is being said. Their seamstresses are not to be trusted and the owner who is the old wrinkly bleached blond, has a huge attitude. Clueless about what type of dress I wanted, the sales associates helped me tremendously by hand picking different styles to see what I liked.
