    Taso Cabrit Comple

My nose is running right now... that means they got the pikliz RIGHT! Lol! I'm a lover of Haitian food and I moved to homestead where it's been a feat to find any good Haitian restaurants. So I had to jump on the chance to find some while I was up north in Sunrise. Haitian restaurants can be hit or miss because it's homemade and every one has their own way of cooking but my number way to rate a Haitian spot is with the pikliz! I must say I am glad I bought a jar! Which is another tell tale sign that their food is good. If the pikliz comes in a jar, it's in high demand and I definitely see why theirs is. It's soo good. Not overly seasoned or too spicy. It's just right! Enough about the pikliz lol. I ordered Tasso Cabrit complete which is the fried goat meal with Djon Djon rice which is mushroom rice. It comes with a salad, 2 banan which is fried green plantain, two sauces, and a small pikliz. Now I did end up throwing the salad away and making my own. The romaine lettuce was a bit brown and wilted but I didn't mind that too much. The goat was really good. Some of the pieces weren't so tender but they weren't too hard that I could t enjoy it. I just know I can't warm this up. The Djon Djon rice was really good especially since I haven't had it in a while. It wasn't greasy and it had veggies in it but very little. I came across a couple kernels of corn and peas but no beans were in the rice. Which is fine, like I said every Haitian restaurant is different. The ones in homestead use pinto beans! I appreciated that authentic flavor for sure. Even without the beans. The banan were a bit soft which I also liked. I don't like when they're old and too hard to even bite. I didn't use the sauce but they give you two so they get a thumbs up for going the extra mile. Finally, I called in to order and the gentleman on the phone was nice and professional. It took us about 7 minutes to get there. We waited an extra few minutes in the car and when we went in to get the food it was ready. So it took about 10 minutes. Which is fast compared to some places. It's located in a plaza. The plaza looks a bit shifty lol but the inside of Coco's is nice and they had good customer service here. Overall I recommend this place. Especially if you're new to eating Haitian cuisine. I'm not Haitian but I fell in love with it years ago and I've missed it sooo much. Coco's definitely hit the spot and cured my cravings. Highly recommended! The next time I'm in the area I'll be returning to try the turkey!

First time newbie to Haitian food but omg so glad I tried it! I got the Griot comple lunch plate and first bite was just full of flavor. I love good ethnic food and this hit more than the spot. Will be back tomorrow probably lol. Idk what the sauces were by I tried and used both. Delish!! Ordered pick up from postmates, super quick and easy, walked in and grabbed it. Guy at front was very pleasant in person and on the phone when I called to verify pick up instructions. Practiced CDC protocols with face masks and plexiglass barrier at register.

I really do love this Haitian restaurant.. it's not much good Haitian spots in Broward but this is one of 'em, this spot is really a hidden gem. The customer service I can't speak for others but with every interaction I've had has been nice and pleasant. The food is well seasoned, comes out piping hot and I like that they pay attention to what you ask for. For example, I ordered Griot and asked them to please give me the fatty pieces of the meat and they did! I was too happy lol. Also the salad & tomato that comes with the Comple plates is ALWAYS fresh, Never old and I appreciate that. The only thing I wish is that they didn't give ranch with the salad and offered other dressings to choose from like French, Italian, Caesar etc. Also if you love Pikliz like me, they offer jars and I always order the jars because the small cup they give is never enough for the plates (it's a lot of food) but it's a great investment with the jars because that Pikliz be BUSSIN! It's spicy and too damn good, I literally put that shit on everything I can lol. If you're in the area, I would highly recommend them.

Turkey in sauce with black rice..good but check out the oil sitting on top of the sauce

It was my first time visiting, i went because of the reviews, i ordered the turkey in sauce with black rice. It was pretty good, except for the fact that the sauce was full of grease! Before i could eat it i had to skim the top off with a spoon and more than half of the sauce was pure oil! Please make your food a little less greasy.

This establishment was huge, with a full bar, plenty of indoor seating, a separate carryout section, and outdoor seating as well. The staff was friendly, attentive, and provided quick service. The menu had a great variety, offering everything from traditional main dishes to desserts and beverages. I ordered two doubles, which were okay--I've definitely had better--but the sweet bread was delicious! My sister had the pholourie, and my mom ordered the goat roti. The roti was filling but a little too spicy, even for us, and we definitely like some heat! Unfortunately, her cassava pone was a bit dry. Overall, there were some hits and a few misses, but there's plenty more on the menu I'd like to try. I'm sure I'll be returning for more Trini delights!

The waitress (she was black and had a short pony tail and she was big too) did not greet us, looked very uninterested when taking our orders , seemed very moody and when I said " I want to order ......." She replied very coldly "WITH WHAT?" And looked at me with big threatening eyes. When she placed the orders on our table, I said thank you but she did not even respond back to me. No spoons , no fork , no plates , absolutely nothing. We were sitting at our table with the food with no utensils. I had to go up front and grab everything myself. The waitress did not even come back to check on us. She took our orders and left , that's it. Honestly, owners can do better with training these ladies running the businesses. Very poor service. We will not be coming back.

For $60, their brunch offers unlimited drinks and food. I dont know what I expected but the quality and flavor of the food caught me off guard. The Jamaican spread was delicious. From jerk chicken and pork to pepper shrimp, oxtail and dumplings. The pepper shrimp is a must try! Brunch drinks were Bellinis, mimosas, margaritas and rum punch. Pro tip: mix the Bellini with a little rum punch and thank me later Chef Ricardo was an absolute darling, making rounds to our table, to ensure we were ok. I have to mention Michael, the manager, going above and beyond to ensure we felt welcomed. He joined in on our birthday celebration and kept the vibe going with birthday shots. The DJ here was also incredible. Spinning hip hop, reggae, dancehall, soca, mixing it just right for the diverseness of the crowd. Hookah was also on point. A bit pricy but well made. The bathroom situation was a little disappointing. Two stalls in the female bathroom with only one working. Hopefully this is not a permanent situation and will be looked at soon. There is lots of free parking around the restaurant. Great food & good vibes
