Was actually picking up a burrito from the Mexican restaurant close by and parked in a different spot and walked by their roti van with wrap around advertisement and thought oooo I could go for trini food. Then walked by the store front and happy to see they were open to see if they had doubles ready. The doubles were delicious!! Perfect dough, perfect flavors. I'm happy to swing by again in the future and try more of the menu. Cool spot!! Free parking in the back!

I discovered this restaurant when my cousin was craving roti and doubles. I searched the online and found Ali's. As soon as my cousin saw the name, she lit up, as mentioned an Ali's location in Brooklyn that always had lines around the block. We decided to give it a try, and it did not disappoint. The roti and doubles were deliciously fluffy, and all the dishes were packed with flavor. The servers are always kind and welcoming, which is a rare find at many Caribbean restaurants. Sometimes they even play soca music, adding a festive vibe that makes me feel like I'm at Carnival. Keep in mind, this is a take-out only restaurant with no tables or seating inside. Parking can be a bit tricky as it's limited right outside the restaurant, so I usually park at one of the nearby plazas.

I'm glad my brother took my mom and I to this roti shop today. The flavors of everything was so good. Von was so helpful and friendly she took her time with us. Our food was delicious and we each got a bit of everything. The bake and shark was so flavorful and the portions are great. The doubles are also delicious and I will definitely be back to try more soon.

Ali Roti Shop is a fantastic spot for authentic Trinidadian food. I think the owners are also Panamanian (so you knowww their food has even more flavor). I had some of the greatest doubles--"melt in yuh mouth"soft, flavorful, and perfectly spiced. My children ordered roti with curry chicken breast, and they said it was delicious. I liked the fact that they had the bone in and boneless option for kids preference. The staff prepared everything fresh right in front of us, using gloves and maintaining a clean, organized space. The service was quick, and the food was outstanding. If you're looking for tasty Caribbean flavors made with care, Ali Roti Shop is a great choice. Simple, fresh, and full of flavor--definitely worth visiting!

The food from this place is amazing. However, their service not so much. When we first walked in, I started my order with 2 doubles, and the lady left to go to the back to grab the hojaldres. Then she kept asking if that was all, and I said no, and I kept repeating mh full order of 3 more things. And she kept forgetting, and made my doubles. Then she went to get the roti from the back, and the saltfish pie from the front. Then she went to the back to make the carimañola. While she was in the back frying it, another lady asked me what my order was, so I told her my full order, and she went to the back to repeat my full order, which confused the other lady, because I think she thought I was making a new order. They finally figured out it was the same order, and I was rung up for my order. I paid, and then waited for the carimañola to be done. Finally we got our order. We ordered 2 doubles, dal puri roti, carimañola, and saltfish pie. Everything was still very hot when we opened up the bags at home. The doubles were very good loaded up with all the sauces of tamarind, a green sauce, and a red sauce. The dal puri roti was very soft and savory. It was huge! The carimañola had a good texture. Crispy on the outside, and soft on the inside. The yuca was very good, but I feel like the meat filling needed a bit more flavor. The saltfish pie was very flakey, but the saltfish itself was very dry, and was in a spicy sauce. I feel like the flavors weren't that great. If you go I suggest you get the doubles, and try their curries with the roti. Everything was $14 for the 2 of us, so the price was very good. We were so full we didn't even finish everything. I just feel like if the staff had better organization they would definitely be a 5 star establishment. There needs to be someone in charge. I feel like they were all just running around figuring out what was going on. It wasn't that busy when we got food at 2pm. They were just very confused.

This is a great family business that has great dishes, lunch special and fresh, hot food. I love stopping in and filling my belly with delicious curries and doubles!

Came by for some Trinidadian food in a road trip in Florida. The shop is casual and located in a small strip mall. There's parking in the front and very ample parking in the back as well. The staff were extremely friendly and food came out lightening fast. We got two doubles which were a delicious mess of chickpeas and roti. They were generous with the filling and gave us a healthy splash of their hot chili sauce as well. The beef pie was good but not as differentiated and a bit skimpy on meat filling, but the doubles really stole the show. Interior has some seating but is mostly take and go. Prices are very affordable for the portion sizes.

I went to Ali's roti this afternoon and ordered a shrimp curry with tamarind sauce on the side. It was a large portion and pretty flavorful. The tamarind sauce was my favorite part! The service was fast and the woman who took my order was very kind. I would go again and next time try their homemade ice cream for dessert

Vegetarian double on the left (with spinach, pumpkin & chickpeas) and curry goat double on the right. Oh so good!

Went here for the first time, we love Caribbean food overall but there are so many different cultures & we're unfamiliar with Trini food. The waitress was very patient & helpful explaining the different dishes. My husband had the lunch special: fried swordfish, rice & beans & a salad. He enjoyed it but wish he would've gotten some kind of curry. I ordered 2 doubles, one was goat curry, the other was vegetarian wirh pumpkin, chickpeas & spinach: og my goodness, SO DELICIOUS!!! The atmosphere was very warm & friendly, it's a really small spot (seating for about 10-12 folks maybe) but you can taste the love in the food. We definitely plan to return to try more dishes when were on this side of town.

Fried Aloo, Chicken Pie, amazing fresh Pineapple Ginger juice. Definitely try this place!

It's a small, mom-and-pop-like shop which of course is the best kind of restaurant IMO. When I walked in, everything smelled amazing and all the food was covered up, which I can appreciate for cleanliness purposes. I was greeted by a smiling and upbeat Simone, who is super warm and welcoming. This was a very pleasant surprise given how my beautiful Jamaican people do not always get the best rep for customer service (IYKYK). I ordered the oxtail, rice and peas and some jerk chicken. Simon gave me a beautiful, and packed plate. The rice and peas was SOO good, I was happy just eating it by itself. The oxtail pieces were big and juicy and FALL-OFF-THE-BONE good. The cabbage had a distinct color and flavor that I LOVED. I give the overall plate a 9/10 only because I didn't get any carrots with the oxtail or sweet plantains in my order which I personally prefer and personally feel should come with oxtail meals. Also because while the jerk chicken LOOKED AMAZING and was nice enough, it didn't pack as much flavor as I would like and they didn't have a signature sauce with it (again, a personal preference, try it yourself, to see how YOU feel). Overall, this was an awesome experience. I would definitely eat here again and strongly encourage you to give it a try if you haven't yet, even just to experience the pleasure of meeting Simone.

Some restaurants serve food. Others serve memories…read more For me, Joy's Roti Delight isn't just the best Trinidadian restaurant in Broward County--it's a place that's been part of my life for years. I've been eating there since they were in their original location connected to Lauderhill Mall, and no matter how many restaurants I've visited as a chef, Joy's has always felt like home. Walk through the front door and you'll see the large photo of Mr. Vishwanath "Joy" Sawh. That picture is more than decoration--it's a reminder of the man whose kindness and passion built a place that has fed generations of South Floridians. I'm grateful I had the opportunity to meet him. He was genuinely one of the nicest people you'd ever want to meet. And the food? Simply outstanding. Their doubles are, in my opinion, the best in Broward--soft, fresh, perfectly balanced, and packed with authentic Trinidadian flavor. It's no surprise they're one of the dishes people rave about over and over in public reviews. The curry goat is tender and deeply seasoned. The curry chicken is rich and comforting. The curry duck is phenomenal. The stew chicken tastes like it came straight from a family kitchen. Pair any of them with their flavorful rice and peas, curry potatoes, or curry chickpeas, and you understand why Joy's has built such a loyal following over the years. But believe it or not... my favorite side is the pumpkin. Funny enough, I used to never eat pumpkin. Mr. Joy himself convinced me to give it a chance, telling me how good it was for me. If you know what I mean I finally listened--and I've been hooked ever since. It's funny how the smallest conversations can stay with you forever. Don't leave without trying their homemade pepper sauce either. It brings just the right amount of heat while letting the flavors of the food shine. As an Executive Chef who's fortunate enough to eat at restaurants across South Florida, I know great food when I taste it. But what separates Joy's isn't just the cooking--it's the heart behind it. The recipes, the consistency, the culture, and the people have made this place a landmark for Trinidadian cuisine. Rest in peace, Mr. Vishwanath "Joy" Sawh. Thank you for the meals, the conversations, and the legacy you've left behind. Your name still brings people together around a table, and that's one of the greatest accomplishments anyone in the restaurant business could ever hope for. Some legacies are written in history books. Yours is written in every plate that comes out of that kitchen.

We arrived around 11 PM on a Friday and the place had great energy. It was lively without feeling overwhelming, and a few tables looked like they were celebrating special occasions, which added to the vibe. The music was excellent and honestly brought back a bit of that nostalgic, high school party feel in the best way. We ordered a couple of drinks and they were definitely strong and well made. The service stood out just as much as the atmosphere. The owner was incredibly pleasant and attentive, checking in with us several times to make sure we were taken care of. You could tell she genuinely cared about the guests. I also learned the owners are Trini and Guyanese, which I loved because it added a nice personal touch to the experience. As a first time visitor, I really appreciated that she thanked us for coming when we left. It made the experience feel welcoming and personal. I'll definitely be back to try the food. As a vegetarian, I'm hoping to make a special request since there aren't many Chinese vegetarian options on the menu, but I'm confident they'll accommodate it. We left after 1 AM and people were still coming in, so it's clearly a popular late night spot. Great location right off University with plenty of parking, which makes it super convenient. No matter when I visit, it's always a warm, hospitable experience--honestly reminiscent of The Ritz-Carlton. Surrounding businesses could learn a great deal from them. I first met Chef Juliette during a visit from DC in September 2025. My best friend introduced us, and immediately I felt the love of a mother and the passion of a seasoned chef who genuinely loves what she does. And that passion? It translates directly through the food. A few weeks ago, I was back in town visiting again, and the energy was exactly the same. We stopped by to pick up a catering order for an event, and Chef Juliette sent us off with pork chop sandwiches so big--and so good--I barely touched the catering food that day (thank goodness for to-go boxes and a freezer). I was able to bring back BBQ chicken, ribs, and the "Turn It Up Rice"--which is out of this world. Perfectly cooked rice layered with crisp vegetables, shrimp, chicken, and brisket... smoky, flavorful, and such a creative spin on fried rice. Then, the day after, Chef invited us back for a VIP experience--and when I say the love is real, y'all... it's real! She prepared a savory seafood étouffée enriched with shrimp and lobster, served over creamy polenta--an elevated take on traditional shrimp and grits. Paired with fresh-baked buttermilk biscuits, sausage from her brother in Georgia, and perfectly crispy bacon... everything was divine. The kind of meal that evokes emotion--the kind that makes you feel genuinely cared for. The restaurant itself feels cozy and welcoming--rich with history and personality. Every time I visit, I discover a new layer of her story which is told along the walls and decor. Chef Juliette is truly something special. If you're ever in the Pompano or Fort Lauderdale area, do yourself a favor and visit Lickie Stickie! The macaroni and cheese was cheesy delicious. The rice and peas were bland. I enjoyed the corn bread bombs. One of my dinner guests (1st timer) wasn't so sure about them. Customer service was the usual welcoming, friendly, prompt service that makes a customer feel like family. Along with complimentary samples of the daily soups and lemonade.
