The Lighthouse is bright, airy and warm all at the same time. I visited the cafe on a Friday morning right before 9 am, and the space was still fairly empty. There were plenty of tables by the windows looking out at the willow trees and I was happy to snag a spot in the sun. Even though the parking lot right outside was full, there were plenty of spaces in the big lot across the street. I will note that the large lot was completely full by the time I left at 11 am though. I ordered an iced chai latte with oatmilk ($7 after tax) and I thought it was so sweet that the server brought my drink when it was ready. I also appreciate when cafes don't charge extra for alternative milks. The WiFi was fast and easy to connect to, with no password like other folks mentioned. Although the drink was nothing extraordinary, I was happy to have such a pleasant space to work in. This cafe is very spacious, clean and not too loud. They have free wifi with no password under "Alexandria." I got there at around 10:30ish am and parking was already full. Parking is quite limited but there is a huge parking lot across that's free. The restroom for women was very clean and beautiful. The doors for the restroom were fully closed with no space for somebody to take a peek. They also have a basket full of free tampons and pads (even pads meant for a heavy period), which was very thoughtful of them to add! There's also a lot of seats so you don't have to worry about that. Most tables came with a plug in on the floor but I found that the tables near the big window didn't have one. Maybe it was just mine though. I ordered a hot chocolate w almond milk and 2 shots which came out to be $10.16. It tasted very standard and not good at all. Great place to work and study, as noted by many other Yelpers and myself. The place itself is very spacious, and the workers are friendly. There's a few outlets but many work tables for people to drink/eat and spend a day out of home and out of office. My friend and I were able to snag a table, and while a majority of the tables remained full throughout the day, there was always space for someone new to come in and work. I recently tried their Iced Chai on a weekday afternoon and loved the flavoring and how sweet it was. I was planning on eating dinner at another place, so I wasn't able to try out any of their foods. They play music inside, so it may not be the best to take calls, but you can go outside to take any calls. The bathroom is fairly nice as well and there are sanitizer dispensers throughout the area. The service was great, shoutout to Hai Tien. Tables are cleaned regularly and food is brought to your table. WiFi was good, and I was able to take a few work calls with little to no lag. The breakfast burrito and latte were good - not amazing but definitely gets the job done! Beautiful, spacious cafe. Situated walking distance from the South SF Caltrain, so the transportation there is quite easy. There didn't seem like a lot of parking spaces available so parking could be a bit difficult. I saw this place on Instagram (an influencer I follow came here) and so I had to--but it took time! I don't have a car in SF and was wondering how to get here. Luckily for me, I was car-sitting and came down with a friend (another Yelp Elite, Christina L.!) Parking was easy, ample, and free (there's a few EV chargers too!) We admired the surrounding lush greenery and the tall, modern biotech buildings. The Lighthouse building is wooden, modern, and cavernous as well. When you walk in, there's first some side seating and an auditorium--walk to the left of that. There's floor-to-ceiling windows and large doors that open and let in light. There's an outdoor sofa and seating outside, but most people were working, chatting, and sitting inside. Lots of people coworking--lots of outlets here. We each ordered the $8 pistachio cream lattes--I got iced, and Christina got hot. They were good but I didn't taste the pistachio much. The employee said the order didn't print so they forgot our order and we had to go up and remind them. Oh well, we were camped out coworking there for a few hours. In addition, I ordered a Lavender Oat Iced Matcha. The Grilled Cheese & Tomato Soup is the perfect serving for one person, though I kind of found it a little small. The matcha was great! The flavor and the dark green color were there which indicates good matcha powder was used. I would probably order the same drink again if I come back, or try their iced lattes. You can order your food and drinks at the register, and they will give you a number so they can deliver them to you. The space: Beautiful, spacious, lots of natural lighting coming in through the floor to ceiling windows. There are plenty of outlets in the floor for those, like me, who are able to WFH. Additionally, there is free Wi-fi which I have been able to use for calls/work. In fact, this is probably my favorite cafe to work at during the week. That being said, I would say that you are paying for the space and not really the food/coffee. Food/coffee: The coffee selections are better than most, but the latte options are limited to the syrups they have on-hand. I have been to this cafe several times, but the more I go, the more I realize that it's the space that makes this cafe/restaurant and not the items on the menu. The most recent time I visited, I got a 16oz drip coffee but was surprised to see a ton of clear rectangles floating at the surface? I did not drink it after that and got a cold brew instead. The sandwiches and pizza are good, but I would not get these again. I got their tomato soup and grilled cheese, but only got half of the cup filled with soup! If I pay $13+, excluding tip, the least I expect is a full cup - especially since this was under the "Lunch" section of the menu. For reference, a cup of soup is $5 on its own, so this tells me that the grilled cheese is worth $8? This wasn't just a one-time thing either, I gave this a couple of chances until ultimately writing this review. Overall: 3 stars I love the ambiance, outlet accessibility, and staff/service. I would go here for work/studying or to chat with friends. Again, it is one of my favorite places for to work. On the left side of interior is the cafe part. The right side is more of the conference space. Inside altogether, the layout is simple, well kept and clean. The cashier/barista with the long brunette hair is the absolute sweetest. She made my experience here, even just by ordering a lavender matcha latte, which was delicious by the way. For a party of 3 we ordered the margarita pizza, a chicken and avocado panini, peach and walnut salad, and a spinach artichoke dip. All of the dishes were very well presented, and tasted good. The pizza however was a disappointment, as the sauce wasn't flavorful and there was a sparse amount of basil. I would try the mushroom one next time. All of our food came at once after almost half an hour, not sure I would recommend this place if you're looking for something quick. Highlights: the salad was a great starter, really fresh greens and a citrusy dressing. The spinach and artichoke dip was the surprise favorite. It's yogurt based, I believe (healthier?) going heavy on the feta and dill flavor, paired with toasted pita chips. I believe their menu may change seasonally so watch out for specials. I've yet to try their beer on tap or any coffee bar drinks. There is plenty of parking since it is in the heart of oyster point and is surrounded by all the biotechnology buildings. Note they are closed weekends. If I was still a student I would definitely come to study with coffee. I highly recommend The Lighthouse for business lunches, working, or studying! I worked at the building next door and would frequent The LH for quick lattes and lunch outside of work. The building features modern architecture with beautiful floor to ceiling windows, making the overall ambience relaxing and pleasant. There is also free WiFi available. The food is pretty decent overall, but some items are a bit pricey for what you get. (Also, some items can be a miss) I wouldn't consider it a restaurant, but a nice spot for lunch. Their menu options are limited, but do have a good variety. I enjoyed the hummus as well as the mushroom pizza. The overall dining area has lots of seating, but can get busy during lunchtime. Best time to go is in the early morning or afternoon. The cafe also occasionally closes off to customers when there is a business event going on. Parking - there is a small lot in the front, but it is oftentimes occupied by the early am. The outside surrounding lot is reserved for employees with permits. 5 stars for ambiance, but the price and the quality of the food takes it down a couple notches. This is a decent option for lunch or happy hour if you work in the area, but that's all I would consider this to be - your local biotech lunch cafe. I would not go out of my way to stop by.
