The lady at the front door counter was so helpful and courteous. We waited for less than 5 minutes before their names were called. The ladies at the license counters were also helpful and courteous. I was allowed to assist my parents when needed. The whole process from getting out of the car to getting back into the car was less than 15 minutes. There was approximately 40-50 other people in various stages of getting their license. It appeared to be a smooth process for everyone.

I don't usually carry change so I probably couldn't use it...the deputy on duty said that people rarely use them but they do get quite a number of call on them at various times all throughout the day. A side note: no cell phone use and absolutely no photos allowed inside the building. They strictly enforce and and I suppose if I violate the rules they'll throw my butt in jail... Ten Eyck Brown who also built The Fulton County Courthouse in Atlanta, GA. It's one of few surviving buildings in Georgia that was built using marble from the area. (I believe the marble is from Tate, Ga) If you look up you can see four eagles above the column thingies and they were sculpted by two local sculptures David A.H. Couche and B. Maloni. It's an impressive structure with it's gleaming white marble and it's formidable presence. I almost expect a bunch of men walking out of in white robes speaking Latin....it looks like it belongs in Athens, Greece... It's located in downtown historic Canton not far from the Historic Canton Cannon Park. Next to the courthouse is the Cherokee Justice Center as well as the superior court. It now houses the Cherokee County History museum and visitor center. It a pretty cool building to check out for a photo opt. If you're ever in the area.

A new voting place in Canton which was really put to the test this week as record turnout was the…read morenormal every day. Many volunteers both inside and out made the experience much better. Parking attendants throughout the entire parking lots with walk-in talkies communicating with one another and directing cars to open spots. Line volunteers making sure people were orderly. The voting booths were many, spread out and plenty of privacy. And the elderly and handicapped were allowed to the front of the line to make their voting easier and quick as possible. A very clean and well organized voting facility. An excellent addition to the County. Tip - Drop boxes also available

The location is right off of 575 between Cumming Highway and Brown Industrial Parkway. Nearby businesses includes, GA department of Driver's Licence, Must Ministries and Cherokee County Juvenile Court. The library has a capacity of 110 people and is one of the larger libraries in the area. Only Pickens and Woodstock locations are larger. Some of the features includes over a dozen public computers for patrons with a current library card or a guest pass. They also have several tablets and laptops that you can sign out for in library use. Free wifi is also available. Just ask a librarian for the current password. One of the unique feature at this library that I've not seen in the other libraries is their jigsaw puzzle collection. They have a whole wall of puzzles that you can check out like you would a book that you might like to read. It's a great a idea for developing and sharpening one's cognitive skills.
