I have a fear of heights so go figure...I chose to do this, but glad I did. With that said, the guides and the others in the group were extremely supportive, fun and safe. We rappelled from two rock formations: the first I considered the practice run; the second the real deal at about 100 feet. Be ready for a full day - we met at 7:45AM and ended about 2:45PM. A few of us from the group and the guides went to lunch afterwards. It was an awesome experience, am sure to do it again and would recommend these two guides (Olga and Carlos) for anything. RP

Made it up the smaller wall and we signed up for Flips & Tricks classes. The staff is THE BEST. My son has difficulty making/keeping friends and "doesn't like to talk to grownups", but he loves the staff here. As a middle-aged mom, I would call the coaches themselves "kods" because they are at least half my age, but they are AMAZING with my son. He "got hurt" his first class and yelled/cried, but the coaches let him have his feelings, got him ice, and taught him how to avoid that situation in the future. After only 2 official classes and 2 longer events, my son has more confidence and says that he "loves the coaches". Hopefully he will make some friends his own age soon too because they have the same love of literally jumping off walls. The teachers actually pay homage to the history of yoga and most will use Sanskrit terms. They are welcoming and friendly, and have two rooms to practice yoga. I really love Andrea's classes, but all of them are good and have their own personality, so it's about choosing which one that works with your schedule or vibe. Most of the classes are heated, and they have a variety of classes from restorative to heated vinyasa / power classes. Oh! And for savasana, they hand out these cold towels drenched in lavender and it is so amazing and I look forward to it every time! My schedule is a bit limited w kids, job, grad school, but when I can, I try to make it to the studio!

There is a bathroom with a shower and other toiletries you may need. The only thing is that parking might be difficult? I've been lucky with street parking. It felt really refreshing spending time at Harbor City Recreation Center when I visited with…read moresomeone, because the whole place has this open, energetic atmosphere that teenagers would enjoy a lot. The fields and courts looked so inviting, and I noticed right away how many teenagers were hanging out there, playing basketball, skating around, or just relaxing with their friends in a way that made the whole area feel lively and welcoming. What surprised me the most was how easy it was to move from one activity to another without anything feeling crowded or rushed, which makes it a perfect spot for teenagers who like having space to be active and creative. Even though I had been aware of this recreation center before, I didn't realize how much there was to appreciate until I walked around and saw how naturally people were having fun there. I really liked how comfortable it felt to just enjoy the environment without any pressure, and how the whole place seemed designed for people to make their own kind of fun. I never doubted that the experience was going to turn out the way I hoped it would. I only visited Harbor City Recreation Center one time in my life before making this review, but it stood out to me as one of the most enjoyable and easygoing public spaces I've been to in a long time, and I would highly recommend that even teenagers go there because it gives them a place to play, hang out, stay active, and feel free to be themselves.
