Our server, Pulkit, was outstanding. He was friendly, attentive, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our meal. His excellent service made our visit even more enjoyable. The food was delicious, and the portions were very large, offering great value for the price. Very dissatisfied. I ordered for the first time with Cody's. I ordered their Country Fired Steak. It came with no gravy. I called and the gentleman in the other end said it doesn't come with gravy. I explained that it's in the picture and all Country or Chicken fries steak comes with gravy. He told me the guy was new. I said ok how are we going to make it right. They asked if I could come pick it up. I can't that is why I ordered it. He went and talked to the owner. They offered to give m 20% off my next order. This order is not edible. An Extraordinary Experience at Cody's Roadhouse in Port Charlotte Our family recently celebrated my grandpa's 98th birthday at Cody's Roadhouse in Port Charlotte, Florida, with a party of 35 people. What could have been an overwhelming evening for any restaurant became an unforgettable celebration because of the extraordinary service, hospitality, and care we received. One server--G--served all 35 members of our party from beginning to end. To say that G did an outstanding job would be an understatement. Every meal was correct, every ticket was accurate, and every plate arrived fresh, hot, and delicious. The food came out consistently, back-to-back, without anyone being left waiting for an unreasonable amount of time. Serving 35 people at once is an incredible accomplishment, and the kitchen staff deserves tremendous praise for preparing every meal with such quality and precision. Our drinks remained full throughout the celebration and were quickly refilled whenever needed. G was attentive without ever being intrusive. He checked on our table at exactly the right moments, patiently waiting until no one was eating or speaking before asking whether everything was satisfactory. He checked in again while clearing the plates, ensuring that every guest had been taken care of. There was not a single complaint from any of the 35 people in attendance. Every adult in our party was extremely impressed and deeply pleased with the genuine hospitality we received. Throughout the evening and afterward, our family continued discussing how remarkable it was that one person had served such a large group so professionally, efficiently, and graciously. One moment, in particular, will remain with our family forever. When it was mentioned that someone needed to cut my grandpa's steak, G immediately offered to do it so no one else would have to delay eating. He did not treat it as an inconvenience or simply another task. He carefully cut my grandpa's steak with the patience, kindness, and attention he might have shown to a member of his own family. That simple act of compassion spoke volumes about his character. G was genuine, thoughtful, attentive, patient, and remarkably skilled. Other servers could learn a great deal by shadowing him and observing how exceptional customer service should be delivered. A score of 100 does not feel high enough. Five out of five stars does not feel sufficient. No words, rating, or tip could ever fully express the gratitude we feel. Cody's Roadhouse proved that it is the restaurant you want to visit, regardless of whether your party consists of two people or 35. If the cooks can prepare 35 meals at the same time and ensure that every order is correct, hot, fresh, and delicious, one can only imagine the care and quality given to a smaller table. Cody's Original Roadhouse Port Charlotte This place is in Port Charlotte Town Center Mall. It looks cool from the outside and even cooler on the inside. We got there on a Thursday night about 5ish. This place was hopping with a lot of people. It was neat and clean, and I loved the interior decorations. Our waitress Brenda was on the ball with our drink, our food orders, and any questions we had because of our first time there. I got a beer, and my wife got a Pina Colada, both were cold and very good. I ordered the 1lb Prime Rib med well with a side of Mashed Potatoes. My wife ordered the Filet Mignon wrapped in Bacon with a side of Baked Sweet Potato in Cinnamon Butter. For an appetizer I ordered the half stick of Jumbo Onions on a stick. Brenda stated she would bring out warm Rolls with Cinnamon Butter and a bowl of Salad that she would mix for the both of us right at the table. Our Onion Rings were very good and very large. The Salad she mixed and served on cold plates it was so good. When our Steaks came out, they looked amazing. Both are steaks were done perfect and they were so good. We could practically cut them with a butter knife they were that tender. Our side of Mashed Potatoes and the Sweet Potato was also very good. All our food was hot and flavorful. Brenda kept checking on us to make sure everything was perfect even a manager stopped by and asked us how the food was. Our food was some of the best we had in this area in fact the entire experience was one of the best yet. Special thanks out to Brenda for such excellent service and the good vibe of this place. This place is spacious, standard booths and tables, staff members are pleasant and it has the potential of being a fine restaurant. Do not eat here-something has changed. Salad straight from a bag, including the brown slimy pieces. Tomato so old it just mushed in your fingers. The 1 pound burger was a pretty good value. I had read a lot of reviews online and the consensus seemed to be go for the burger. It was pretty tasty. It was cooked, medium rare exactly how I wanted it. The bun was good and so were the vegetables. According to their menu online, there was supposed to be a giant slice of fried onion ring with the burger, but it seems as though they forgot to add that. Why can I not give this place a zero? Two of the six steaks ordered at the table we ordered medium rare, but came out blue rare. One of the steaks was ordered, medium rare and came out like shoe, leather chewy and absolutely disgusting. Another one of the steaks came out tasting like seafood. No seasoning on any of the steaks. We ordered another steak that was cooked way beyond well done. Some of the chicken that we ordered was tough and dry. But at least the bread was good. The rest of the food is absolute trash, just like the restaurant. The restaurant itself was filthy and disgusting. The place smelt like cockroaches. We had to ask for the area around us to be swept. It was that dirty. The seats were sticky and nasty like one of them back room, film places that nobody talks about going to, but they do. I would never go to this place again. They have a huge place / sitting. Went there Friday afternoon and there was an outdoor live music. We were party of 13 and we got group sitting area. They have special bites menu before 6pm. Their refreshment is peanuts, and they serve bread with cinnamon butter (so good!!). I got salad and coleslaw as sides as well. The sirloin steak cooked well. I'd recommend this place. They have variety of food and friendly price. Service was great as well. When we finished, there were lot of people. So we arrived on time at 5pm. read more

Drinks are not very well made, specialty drinks listed as available but they also don't have the ingredients to make them. We no longer go because the last 3-4 times we were there, same items they are still out of, and the food and drinks are not worth the money. One of the times we were there there was a larger party celebrating a birthday, some children were with this party running all over, jumping on the boths. I asked our waitress about it, and to see if they could maybe not have the children screaming but evidently they were friends with the owner who didn't seem to care about tha ambiance or the remaining guests in the restaurant. Halee was a great server for our visit today. We like to get here before 6 o'clock to enjoy Cody's specials, which are of a particular value in this post-COVID era. BTW, the BOGO on beer is great as well! My wife and daughter had the sirloin. My wife's medium rare was over-cooked; my daughter's was accepted. Halee saw to it the my wife got her sirloin replaced to an appropriate medium rare. I had the barbecue chicken, which was especially tender and tasty. I was given no marinara for my mozzarella sticks, no dressing for my salad, no fries in my tenders basket, and my buffalo shrimp had no sauce! My tenders were more like nuggets...not one was a strip. I had to call 8 times to get to someone to place my order. I can tell they are short staffed but damn. That's a lot of issues. There's no spot on the 'tell us what you think' part of the website to actually submit a complaint...it cuts off when it asks you to submit a phone number. The food was amazing. But the service was the best. McKayla was our server. She did a fabulous job of taking out orders and serving us. The whole restaurant works like a well oiled machine. Very busy, we went on a Friday, but we were seated with in 15 minutes. The waitress was very busy and it took another 15 minutes to get our order. She could have been a little friendlier. After we ordered food came out quickly and it was delicious. I had the prime rib and it was cooked perfectly. Overall a nice place with good food, will definitely go back. read more

Use to be an okay place to grab an early dinner when shopping. I think today was our last visit sorry to say Ordered a frozen margarita with salt . It came in a water glass looking like a slushy. There was salt all right, on the rim ok , but the bottom of the so called margarita, tasted like a salt shaker spilled. The quesadilla was luke warm . The server was a jerk with an attitude the entire time. They didn't have peanuts anymore. They moved potato skins to only being available in the bar. The rolls were dry and over cooked. Our blackened fish was covered in spice but not seared or blackened at all. The medium well steak was significantly undercooked. We had to ask for boxes, rolls, water, etc anytime we needed something 2-3 times before our waitress brought it out. This was a horrible experience and enough to make it my last trip to Cody's. Save your money and go anywhere else that has a steak or fajita and you will be a lot happier. read more

Took my mom there for something different. Food was okay, no complaints even though my T-Bone was over cooked. The waitress (Nicole) however was pretty bad. Constantly told us she would go get things (to go boxes, refills ect) then never brought them? We had to keep reminding her as she blew by. This was our first and last time here. All I can say is thank goodness the tables are topped with disposable butchers paper. From the crumbs all over the seats, the gross sticky condiments on the table, to the gnats flying/landing around us, this just wasn't a good dining experience at all. As for the food... it was ok for the price (earlybird), nothing at all to write home about. Oh wait, yes there is... there are hard boiled eggs in the pale green iceberg lettuce salad.
