Went for dinner on Thursday night. The food was pretty good, I'd say a little above the average that you would expect. But what made the dinner was the service. Derrick was our server and he was the best server that we've had in a long time. I grew up in the restaurant business so I generally will still tip the obligatory 20% out of habit as long as my drink is kept full and the server was at least not rude. Not a hard thing to accomplish I'd think but many times in this area we don't even get that service. Derrick was out going and had a really good personality. We have not been to outback in years and we were pleasantly surprised. I had the hamburger and it's just too much for one person. And it includes a side which I didn't even touch, but we'll have that later. My husband got the full rack of ribs. The seasoning was perfect cooked to perfection. We sat at the bar and had amazing service. The manager Alex stopped by to see how everything was. Super nice guy and treats his staff very well. I love Outback's food, but I always sit at the bar because I'm usually alone and the bartenders, which are mostly female, never have eye contact with the customer. I have to yell at them to get their attention and then they get mad. And this is not the only bar that does this. I don't know if they haven't had proper training or if this is something they do on their own. I haven't been back there for quite some time because of this problem. read more

The Outback is not a prime steakhouse but it has been around for a long time and serves a decent meal. The steak, chicken and seafood dishes are well prepared and tasty our party ordered the Pork Chops , the Rib Eye and the Blooming Chicken everyone was happy with their choices. The wait staff is professional. The ambience is moderate and the decor features booths and food service at the bar. IMO subtle changes to the menu have lessened the appeal of restaurant along with the cost, as an example the Blooming onion which was an icon is now at a cost close to eleven dollars. read more

Salad was warm when it came to the table. An hour and a half later the server asked us if we needed boxes to go. Told her we had not received our meals yet. Four other tables had come and gone around us. Seemed as if the large tables were being catered to the most. I told the manager to cancel my Alice chicken plate. And the order was put to go. Our dinner was ruined. What a horrible Friday meal. Too late to eat and went home feeling sick. Manager thought he was doing me a big favor by not charging me for the meal I no longer wanted. We always wanted to go and try the steak and lobster special on Tuesday night for 24.99 but never seemed to remember it until Wednesday. I usually get their shrimp on the Barbie entree and always enjoy it, We had Leeann as our server and she was a delight. We happened to be there during happy hour and she informed us of the drink specials which we enjoyed thoroughly. I like Outback's house salad. Everything is fresh and they don't skimp on the tomatoes and cucumber. Love their ranch dressing as well. Let's don't even talk about the bread. Steak was cooked a perfect medium rare and the lobster was tender and quite good. Our waitress was involed in a highly political conversation with another customer that made us very uncomfortable. The waitress realized why we were uncomfortable, yet continued the conversation. I have not been to an Outback in 20+ years. No real reason though, usually there are other options. We decided to try them tonight basically because other restaurants were packed already, it was 5:30pm on a Friday. We were seated fairly quickly, waitress took our drink order quick. Drinks came, we ordered appetizers, Seared Ahi tuna for me, hubby got fried mushrooms. Both were delicious. Our entree's came, he ordered Rib Eye, with French fries and also Mac and Cheese. I ordered sirloin and chicken combo. The seasoning on my husband's steak he felt was very salty as were the fries. He is NOT a fan of salt, so he is sensitive to it. Unfortunately it was too much for him and he did not eat his meal. My meal was not salty, steak had good flavor but because it was a sirloin, it was a bit tough. I only ate half of the steak. Chicken was very good though. Restaurant was clean, typical setting. It was fairly busy tonight, so waitress was busy, we asked for the check. She brought it right away and went about her business. We payed with cash, after waiting for her to return for 10 minutes, I stood up to see if I could see her. I waited another 5 to 6 minutes, still did not see her. A young man, dressed in black slacks and blue shirt, was talking with another waitress. I stood next to them to wait to talk with him, about 5 minutes waiting. They both parted and walked away, I was 2 feet from them! Kind of irritated me a bit. That same waitress walked back towards me, I stopped her and told her I wanted to pay the check and have not seen my waitress for 20 minutes.She started to say that she couldn't take it, I did interrupt her and state that I was not waiting another 20 minutes. We were immediately greeted and invited to sit wherever we wanted. Our server, Jayden was prompt in bringing our menus. When we said to him this was our first time at Outback. Ever. Tried to find waitress, but after a while,I called the restaurant from our table to let them know no one was around. Although they took it off our bill, I must say, disappointing would be my opinion. I couldn't tell the difference between the 6 oz or the 8 ounce. The filets were very tough, which I never experienced before. I may try again sometime as the manager was genuine in his apologies. As far as a chain goes, PC Outback will always be my Go to! We all know food wise what to expect from Outback, so when we look for reviews of chains we are looking at service. Starting with our host, We we're greeted properly and sat quite quickly on a busy Saturday night. Next our server, Jay was exceptionally amazing from the get go! He kept us updated seeing as they were slammed on this Saturday night. He was very patient and kind while we waited for our party to arrive and made sure we were taken care of throughout the whole experience. He is someone we'd come back and ask for EVERY time. Now for Management, We were checked on towards the end by a manager and he was also such a fantastic man. My friend confessed her steak didn't taste like a good cut and without question, got her a new one and with a smile. This was my 1st time here and maybe my last. I just moved to the area and this was the first outback I've been where quality/service wasn't a priority. First, I experienced awful service and my steak was not cooked right. Next, my server Catherine never checked on us, whenever she'd come by it was to drop off food, appetizer or bread quickly without saying 1 word, never to look up. It was really strange. Never once asked if we needed anything. Literally not a sec to see if we'd ask for something and never made eye contact. I asked for medium-well steak when I made my order and I got almost rare. Then she gave us the wrong bill. It was an extremely disappointing night. I observed the poor quality service she gave to everyone. This is outback not McDonald's, she focused more on rushing around slamming plates on tables quickly without acknowledging customers. It was all about speed than quality of service and food. I had to hail her down or ask other staff for bread or refills. She's not personable or has the qualifications to work at outback. Customers care about quality of food/service. I'm a rewards member and was hoping to get my usual email survey but didn't, nor was one on my receipt.
