This is our fifth or sixth visit to Prime Serious Steak as we live in the Miami area. It's sad to read anyone has ever had a negative experience here because we have only ever had super positive experiences each and every time! We've been visiting this restaurant since 2018 and gave celebrated birthdays and anniversaries here! Our last visit was January 2026 to celebrate my husband's birthday. He enjoyed the prime rib which was cooked to perfection. I enjoyed the Mini Beef Wellington as an appetizer, since it's no longer offered on the main menu. I had it a few years ago. I also enjoyed a Filet Mignon Oscar style which again was cooked to perfection. The Strawberry Basil Martini was delicious and our server Lindsey was the best thus far! She's was super sweet and personable, very attentive and just fantastic all around! We've always been blessed with great servers and Lindsey was really a star! If I could give this a zero I would. One star is too good for this. For background - me and my parents came here to celebrate me buying a house. We had reservations at 7 and arrived at 6:50 and were promptly sat immediately. We were sat in the back of the restaurant and immediately were overwhelmed by this horrible gas/sulfur smell. We immediately asked to be moved and were moved to a different table at the front by the door and the smell was gone. We were greeted by our waitress, I believe her name was Nicole, the moment we sat down and she took our drink orders. Our drinks came out pretty much immediately, and she took our food orders. Me and my step father got the 2 for $50 and both got wagyu flat iron steaks, both medium rare, his with fries and mine with au gratin potatoes. My mother got a burger with a baked sweet potato. About 5 minutes later she comes out with the popovers and house salad. The popovers were BURNT and black on the bottom. They tasted like char and none of us finished more than a few bites. We tried to ignore it as we were mostly excited for our steaks. About 5 minutes later, roughly 10 minutes after we were sat, a couple arrives at the table behind us. We end up waiting until 7:50 with NO sign of our waitress, no drink refills, never comes to check on us, no clue where our food is. About 15 minutes after that couple behind us was sat, they end up getting their food. Still nothing for us. She finally comes by and says, "I just checked on your food guys and it'll be out soon!" We were visibly and audibly frustrated at this point and she immediately snapped an attitude with us and was extremely rude. We continue waiting and our food ends up coming out at 7:56. I cut into my steak and it's RAW. Not rare, RAW. My step father's steak was ice cold and overcooked. His fries were also ice cold. Another thing, me and my step father ordered the same cut of steak. The Wagyu Flat Iron. My steak was skinny and tall, my step father's steak was flat and wide. they looked NOTHING alike. My mother cuts into her burger and it was overcooked and ice cold. She tries to eat her potato instead and the inside of the potato was stringy and had clumps in it. It looked like vomit and was extremely unappetizing. We call over the waitress and ask for the manager who ends up coming over about 5 minutes later, I believe his name was Mike. My step father explains our issues to him and he is dismissive, argumentative, and rude. I brought up the fact that a table behind us sat 10 minutes after us got their food and finished it already and he says that doesn't matter and overall was non-empathetic and rude. We ask him to take our food off the bill and that we just want to leave. It takes 10 minutes for the bill to be brought to us and it was by our waitress, not the manager. She says that the burger was left on and all our drinks. No sort of extra compensation or even a simple APOLOGY for our horrible evening. We express our frustration and the waitress once again begins being sarcastic, argumentative and rude. Me and my stepfather get up to leave the restaurant while my mom mother pays the bill. As me and my step-father are leaving, not paying any mind to her or anyone else, the waitress is behind us at the hostess stand and ANTAGONIZES us for NO reason saying; "I mean this is ridiculous guys, this is getting out of hand." My step father turns around and says "I agree, it is ridiculous. We had horrible service, our food was horrible, and we had to wait an hour to even be served." She starts trying to argue with him and we just turned and walked out. While my mom was inside paying, the waitress tried to walk away with her card so my mom followed her and asked her to leave her card if she was going to go to the back. The waitress does a sarcastic laugh of disbelief and says "What, you don't trust me with your card?" and gives the card back and walks away laughing. This was the most unbelievable, rude, horrible restaurant service I've ever had. I mean it seriously felt like I was eating at that vital "Dick's" restaurant where the staff is supposed to be ironically rude. I attached a picture of my raw steak that the manager apparently "didn't see an issue with." Feel free to eat here if you want to smell sulfur, be abandoned for 45+ minutes, interact with rude wait staff, and be served raw food! read more

First of all the hostess at the front and our server Alex were both very nice. The steaks and salads were good, and the boys enjoyed their meals (pasta and filet strips, NY strip and mac n cheese, and buttered noodles and fries). However, the panko crusted red snapper was too well done. Our main issue was that it smelled bad in the restaurant. We couldn't figure out what it was, but it was a musty smell or almost like the smell of some sort of gas. We sat for about 10 minutes without our server coming over or anyone bringing us waters. So we ordered right away, but the entrees did not come out for 45+ minutes. It was hard to get over the bad smell. They need to do something about that. read more

We really enjoyed our Anniversary dinner tonight at Prime. Made a reservation online, started with a drink at the bar and (as always) the bar staff was friendly and entertaining. Once we were seated for dinner, our server Brian took over. He was attentive, knowledgeable and extremely funny. Dinner was delicious! Worst part was that I forgot my doggy box. Unbelievable. Just incredible! Kelli ROCKED out our experience! My father in law is super selective and he didn't say a word through dinner. ;) Kelli paced us so nicely and was so professional and friendly. He was so polished and very comforting to my in-laws. He was a gem. We'll be visiting again in February and we'll be back again. The six oz filet was divine. Broccoli on the side. Another of Brussel sprouts for the table. Stuffed mushrooms were DIVINE. I understand it can be a little challenging to take the right temp on a thin NY strip, but you know, with experience and timing, you can definitely make it to the customer's preferences. We were asked, "How do you like your steak?" My wife chose rare, and I said medium rare. Unfortunately, both of us got pure raw meat. They didn't even make an attempt to cook them differently. Glad to know that you guys are taking reservations now. I wish I had known that earlier lol but it was worth the wait. We waited an hour and got Cameron as a server. We've been to this location several times in the past and honestly, Cameron is the best Server that we've ever had pretty much anywhere in Port Charlotte that we've been to. He recommended the prime rib blackened, and he couldn't have been any more correct. Probably the best steak I've ever had in my life. We were a group of seven for dinner. We went about 4:30 because they don't take reservations. We love this place! Delicious large popovers delivered as an appetizer with regular and cinnamon butter. We ordered the onion loaf and calamari as a starter. The onion loaf is huge and easily shared. We all ordered prime rib. We thought all our ribs were slightly overcooked as we like more pink. So make sure to mention your pink level when you order. You get one side with dinner and they make a delicious salad table side with peppercorn dressing. Alli- our server - was friendly efficient, and quick service. It is a busy place so the atmosphere is loud but we were able to have easy conversations. Plenty of parking. I'd give this establishment 5 stars had their parking lot lights were on. It's very dark. The reason they deserve 5 stars is the fact the Ambiance, Service & food was Amazing! The establishment has a very strong Black & Red decor. Very nice. From the walls having those color tones to the metal top tables with wood platters on top. All is signs of fine dining. The carpet has snags in it and could be replaced. But, you're not looking down while dining. The food was amazing! Specialty menus created by a Chef. Our waitress Crystal, was spot on! She presented the menu in a very professional manner. She added humor to her service and was very attentive as well. We tipped her very well as she took care of my wife, daughter, son in-law & myself. She made it a point to thank us for the tip as we were already in the parking lot about to enter our vehicle. Great friendly service by Brittany made our experience. I appreciated the atmosphere and nice touches of the wooden platter, the knife board displaying steak knives and salad mixing presentation. The popovers and Caesar salad all The lamb chops were very tasty and plentiful, augratin potatoes and a side of Asparagus, with Béarnaise sauce. A perfect Cabernet juggernaut for me and a red sangria for mom with the salmon complemented our meals. Thanks GM Brenda for the nice welcome and remembering my mom. Prime Serious Steak 6-11-25 Wow I can sum up this place in one word amazing, amazing, amazing. Well, that's 3 Words but it describes our experience we had there. We arrived on a Wednesday at 4pm when they opened to celebrate my wife's birthday. There were a couple people waiting outside to get in. Once inside the place was neat and very clean. I loved the Wine wall and the Butcher Shop. Our waitress Felicia was on the ball with taking our drink orders and answering any question we had about the menu. She came back fast delivered our drinks and took our food order. I ordered the Blackened 12oz Prime Rib med well; Fully Loaded Baked Potato and the Salad comes with all entrees. My wife ordered the Surf & Turf, (6oz Filet & 6oz Maine Lobster Tail) Baked Sweet Potato with brown Sugar and Cinnamon Butter and a side of Asparagus, the Salad came with it. They asked how she wanted her Lobster cooked she asked them to Grill the Lobster and the Filet cooked medium. For an appetizer I ordered the Lobster Bisque for the both of us. Our Bisque got delivered first to us. This Bisque was the best I have had in this area. Next time I am not sharing it as I will order one for my wife and one for myself it's just that good. Shortly afterwards Felicia delivered Popovers which is Puffy Bread to our table. I believe they had a cutting board on the table just for this bread. She also brough a cart to mix our Salad to our liking right at our table, what a nice touch. The Bread & Salad were fresh and very good. Our main food ordered came out at a reasonable time and looked amazing. My Prime Rib was done perfect, and the Loaded Baked Potato was just that. My wife's Surf & Turf looked very good. Her Filet was done perfect, and the Grilled Lobster was gilled perfect and very tasty. Her Asparagus was not over cooked it was great. All our food as hot and so good. Felica kept checking on us and made sure our drinks were filled. My wife ordered a Pina Colada even that was good. The Manager even stopped by to make sure everything was ok. Felica brought out a Happy Birthday plate which had a little Cake and whipped Cream on it for my wife. I tell you even that was good. Very seldom a place hit on all cylinders, but this place pulled it off, they hit it out of the park. If I could give this place 6 stars I would. It had been awhile since we'd been to Prime, and I get it, like everyone else they're trying to save money, but part of the atmosphere was their table side salad preparation and presentation. I guess those days are gone, cause the server just carried out a bowl and put it on our plates, which was a smaller portion as well. The guys liked their prime rib and us ladies enjoyed our fish. The popovers didn't seem fresh and we didn't get bread plates to put them on so we were managing them on top of our salads. Overall, it just wasn't what it used to be. Don't waste your money. I previously gave them 5 stars. Not now. The popovers are usually served ice cold. If you want a steak medium rare, their definition is blood rare. This is not just on one occupancies, but after the third time of getting a raw steak, they have lost my business. When you send a steak back, everyone in your party is eating and you are staring at a cold popover. Not worth the money any longer. It all starts with the manager and she couldn't care less. From walking in the front door, before we even made it through the threshold the greeter asked us "how many in your party?" I was a little bit taken aback by that. We got attitude when we said we didn't want to sit by the front door but further into the restaurant. Then our server was short with us and disregarded the fact that I was even there with my wife, several times! We asked the server for water without ice and he brought my wife one glass again disregarding me, and left the two glasses of water with ice in them on the table and said "someone will drink these!" and walked off. At this point my wife was frustrated, and it being her birthday, she lost her appetite for anything on the menu. He then comes back several minutes later to ask her if she wanted anything else to drink and finally asked me if I wanted anything! So I kept it short. Malbec. He came back with the drink and later came back with their specialty bread and told us about the specials. And then walked away! He didn't ask us if we wanted a starter, or if we are even ready to order. After about ten minutes of sitting there looking at my wife's face of anger and frustration, I then decided we are going to leave. I got up to ask him for the check and told him that he had upset her and she didn't even feel like ordering and at that point he handed me a check for a glass of wine that I didn't even get to drink. This has been my favorite steakhouse for five years. I had the worst experience tonight because of the manager. Bartenders are awesome. Usually eat there with no problem. I order a custom cut ribeye every time. Ate with friends tonight at a table. Same order. Took an hour for food. My $50 medium rare steak was medium well. Everyone at table was done eating when I got my recooked steak. When I cut it open it was obviously rare, but I wasn't sending it back again. Ate what I could, put most of it in by container to go. When bill came, manager said I'm taking off your drinks. $9. I told her it was not acceptable. The waiter told me she saw it was undercooked. We watched her chirping at him for telling us she saw it was undercooked. I tipped him well, good service. I will not be going back until there is a new manager. We were a table of 10 last night and the waiter was very good but the food for most of us was sub-par. Afraid we have found this the last few visits. The food took so long to come out and the steaks were overcooked and both orders of stuffed shrimp were so dry. I get this frequently and have never had the shrimp like this. It was a Saturday night and our waiter was so busy plus with how long it took for the food to come out we didn't send anything back. I was told by a few of our guests that the macaroni and cheese was very dry too. Something is going on in that kitchen lately and it's not good. Disappointing. read more

We had dinner at Prime yesterday. We arrived at 4 when they opened, perfect time! No wait, no rush and by 5 they were pretty well packed. We both had the petit filet and each was perfectly cooked to order. Our server, Hannah J, was a delight. Very knowledgeable about menu and menu items, attentive and fun. The asparagus with bernaise sauce was very good and the table side salad was delicious. The atmosphere was relaxing and we appreciated the special touches to the meal, the knife board and cinnamon butter with the popovers were a pleasant surprise. While not inexpensive, I think that the menu items were reasonably priced and a very good value for our meal, which we thoroughly enjoyed. We will definitely be back! read more

Food and service were overall very good. EXCEPT.... The $68 steak was ordered medium, came well done, no hint of pink. Manager's solution was to reduce the check by $16. Total check for four was $450 plus tip. Apparently the chef does not take pride in his craft, nor does the manager expect much from his kitchen staff. Server was great. read more

Service was attentive and kind. Ambiance of the place is nice, we were out in a little corner which was great because it drowned out the noise and made it feel less busy. When we walked out, it seemed like a lot of tables are put close to eachother. My prime rib was your average prime rib. Nothing I didn't like and what I expected. French onion was amazing and so was the Caesar salad. Husband ribeye was little overcooked on the outside. Kinda gave a burnt taste. But wasn't unedible. Overall would recommend to someone! The steak I was served was so tough and stringy it was almost inedible. The menu made BIG promises, and gave tiny returns. The appetizer was what I'd expected, but the rest of the food served to the members of my party was approximately the same quality a a "family buffet" like Golden Corral. I've dined at high-end steakhouses across the country, and my experience at Prime in Port Charlotte was, without question, the worst I've ever had -- not because of the food alone, but because of the open hostility and unprofessionalism from the manager. My friend ordered a steak medium-rare. It arrived well-done, dry, and gray throughout -- clearly overcooked. When he politely pointed this out and asked for it to be remade, the manager approached the table with immediate defensiveness and aggression. Instead of apologizing or offering a solution, he: * Argued that the steak was "perfect" and "exactly medium-rare" * Spoke in a condescending, demeaning tone, implying we didn't know how to order steak * Raised his voice and refused to replace the dish without additional charge * Made sarcastic remarks like "Maybe you should go somewhere else next time" This wasn't a miscommunication -- it was verbal abuse from someone in a leadership role. The rest of the table was stunned into silence. We paid full price for an inedible $50+ steak and left humiliated. To make matters worse: * The sides were lukewarm and under-seasoned * The "prime" cuts were chewy and lacked marbling * Prices are 30-40% higher than comparable steakhouses with zero justification in quality or service This isn't about one bad night -- it's about a toxic culture starting at management. No customer should be berated for giving honest feedback. I will not return, and I strongly advise others to spend their money elsewhere (Ruth's Chris, Capital Grille, or even local independents treat guests with respect). I have eaten at this restaurant three times. The previous two times I was very happy. Today I had the 14 oz Ribeye, ordered medium rare. The steak could not have been more than 8 oz and was over cooked because it was so thin. Reminded me of Ponderosa steak house 30 years ago. Server was very good but my food was not good.
