Iced Tea and espresso
Jessica N.

Got the cold brew Moonlight White and it was pretty good. I would've bought some if I didn't already have enough tea to last me 10 years at home. Staff was nice and fast. Some indoor seating and good for studying. Small but cute and has decent street parking.

Great atmosphere and good for reading a book or doing work as they have a good amount of seating. Minimal aesthetic with good coffee/tea.

As someone that's used to how OC & LA county make their lattes, I find myself disappointed with a lot of the lattes here in SD. However, this place has great quality coffee & latte art! I almost ordered another one for the road. I ordered a vanilla latte and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I loved that it wasn't too sweet and the milk to espresso ratio was well balanced. Also, pretty good spot for studying and the music isn't too loud. As for seating, there are tables and bar seating available. The only con is street parking can get a little tough in this area.

This coffee spot? A true delight. The music sets the tone, making every sip a revelation. The staff's warmest, gentlest smiles perfectly complement their thorough drink crafting. It's the unforgettable post-spin/yoga ritual that makes my mornings!

Food/Drinks: 9/10 Service: 10/10 Ambiance: 8/10 This cafe is one of my favorites in san diego! They have really good quality americanos and vanilla lattes which are everything for me! Usually I don't struggle to find seating! And just a good place to either catch up with friends or get work done!

I liked their flash brew, but didn't love the beans. Their watermelon dill refresher was interesting and enjoyable.

Favorite coffee in SD - hands down! Even with the NP parking. Food: - Vanilla Latte (Iced): 5/5 - Black salted caramel: 5/5 - Liege waffles: 5/5 Service: On the slower end depending on staffing. But still worth the wait! Ambiance: Artsy and clean aesthetic. Will be back soon!

Small hipster coffee shop "tucked away" on El Cajon blvd. You can tell the baristas here are really passionate about their craft- every time I've gotten something it's been top notch. I'd recommend an espresso forward drink to get that satisfying hit of a quality pull (the banana latte I tried was good but way too milky/sweet) The pastries are served on a nice plate with gorgeous silverware, very instagrammable - and tasty! Lots of locals and regulars but even so I've always found a spot to work from for an hour or two during the week!

I visited this shop for the first time today. The shop is very cute. The minimalist decor with plants & some art work is super inviting. They have seating at the bar & at the entrance if you're looking to get some work done. The baristas were super sweet & inviting. I didn't try any food this time. Maybe next time! Shout out to the barista with the cool tattoos and potion shirt for the black sesame caramel rec. the coffee is sweet but still strong! I'll def be back.

"lump o coal" (black sesame cardamom milk tea)

I love the feel and vibe of this coffee shop. Doesn't seem like one of the "IG worthy" type of coffee shops and instead more of a locals type of place. They have a decent amount of indoor seating and outdoor seating. I got the "lump o coal" (black sesame cardamom milk tea) which is seasonal. It was an eye watering $7 for a small which is very overpriced imo. The actual drink wasn't too sweet which I loved and the black sesame flavor was there. I liked that they put actual sesame seeds on top which added an interesting texture. The cardamom flavor wasn't there though which was disappointing. Service was a little slow but not annoyingly so. They were very friendly also.

Matcha Latte and Coffee
Lisa K.

Cute coffee shop! The drinks we ordered were a matcha latte and another latte. The matcha latte was tasty, but not enough sweet so it tasted a little bit bland for me. The person who took my order was friendly, so the service was good!! The drinks did not take long either. The seating was spaced out and simple. It hard seating so it wasn't a place I would stay to study or work from home for that reason. Overall recommend!

I came here with my daughter and wasn't particularly impressed with the tea, service, or ambiance. We stood in line for a good 5 minutes (there was no one in front of us) while the staff members talked and laughed amongst themselves. They were not busy preparing drinks or anything. That was a sign that we should have just left and gone elsewhere. The iced matcha latte was really weak in flavor and I have definitely had much better elsewhere. It was very watered down. It was not worth $7.50...

Stopped by this small coffee shop on the way home. It has a very basic vibe to it (a few tables inside, some plants, not very flashy). I got an Iced black salted caramel latte, which was really good. The batista was very nice.

The coffee itself is decent, though not particularly memorable. Unfortunately, the service is where this place falls short. The staff came across as unwelcoming and inconvenienced by customers simply placing an order for an already expensive coffee. During my visit, employees were openly discussing customers, using profanity, and creating an atmosphere that felt more dismissive than hospitable. In a market where coffee shops are everywhere, service is what sets a business apart. I'd rather get a mediocre cup of coffee from Starbucks on University and be greeted with genuine appreciation than pay premium prices and feel like an interruption. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, because the location and concept have potential. As it stands, the customer experience leaves a lot to be desired. If you're going to talk about your customers, go into the back like a normal disrespectful disenchanted individual. I sooooooo want to like the place but Do better.

The two flavors of cold foam flavors are sweet and refreshing then followed by the strong rush of coffee. I really like how balance the coffee itself is. It's not overly sweetened with condensed milk to where that's the strongest flavor. I visited in May during AAPI month and got to order from their seasonal menu. I tried the double jasmine matcha which was absolutely delicious. This perfectly crafted latte was made with ceremonial uji matcha, whole milk, housemade jasmine syrup, and housemade jasmine cream. The floral jasmine flavor intertwined with the lightly earthy matcha. Service was super friendly and drinks are made with precision at the coffee bar. There is a cute Photo Booth and al fresco cafe seating outside too.

They serve traditional coffee and matcha, but the real standouts are their Vietnamese‑inspired drinks like the pho cold brew, pandan latte, ube latte, and more. Definitely a spot to try something new. They're very dog‑friendly, which is always a win. And the logo? A cute dog, who I'm assuming is Chance -- absolutely love that touch. The narrow outdoor patio is small but super charming, and they almost always have some kind of pop‑up happening. There's an events calendar at the counter so you can see what's coming up next. Prices are typical, but they had a summer deal menu with a nicely priced matcha latte, which was a great touch. The cloud foam options are delicious and worth exploring. And one of the cutest features: they have a fun photo booth in the back, perfect for grabbing a little memory with friends or your pups. Laid‑back, friendly, and full of unique drinks -- a great stop for anyone wanting to explore Vietnamese coffee culture or switch up their usual order.

MUSICIANS + COFFEE (4 stars)…read more You get "Vinyl consumption and thoughtful produced coffee"! Chill and cozy coffee shop with a few seats and a selection of coffee and vinyl in the layout. Bought a bag of their beans and it came with a free cup of drip or iced from that same bean. After browsing their selection of beans, I couldn't quite find the type of profile I like but there were a variety of profiles. I bought a bag for a gift for someone who might appreciate their shop style and profile. At the time of my visit there were no decaf beans available. Took advantage of taking the free iced coffee and was surprise of my sipping acceptwnc! RAW POWER - their mainstay coffee which has a profile of chocolate and orange. I had this as an iced coffee - straight up black with no added anything and I thought I'd hate it without anything but I enjoyed the ice coffee as black and plain. From here I could really taste the bean profile very clearly and indeed could find the chocolate and the orange, more the orange than the chocolate. I am not into acidity or tart when I take my lattes but I don't mind that orange flavor when I take an iced coffee. It was an inquiring taste! I'd like to come back and try their decaf beans with with a flavored latte or an iced coffee plain as possible.
