matcha latte, coconut cloud with matcha shot, matcha latte with pandan cream top

My family & I came here for a pop-up and got some drinks while we waited. I can tell they're not known for their matcha since it was pretty watered down and the milk or artificial sweeteners overpowered the drinks. I also asked for a double matcha but got a regular matcha latte. While they offered to remake it, they said they would charge the difference so that was a bit of a turn off as it was their mistake. I want to support local viet owned businesses but I can't say I was impressed or that I'd come back. Perhaps if I was in the area & wanted to try their coffee.

Amazing Asian cafe in the heart of north park! It was popping on a Saturday morning - incredible vibes and energy. Shout out and thanks to the homie alex on the recommendation - loved my pho cold brew. So bold, smooth, and flavorful. The outdoor seating was such a vibe. Can't wait to return to try more of their offerings!

Chance's Vietnamese coffee

I have no words, 10/10 for their Vietnamese coffee topped with Ube and pandan foam. Will definitely revisit to try their black sesame latte. It's a little on the pricier side but well worth it.

The Chance's Vietnamese coffee tasted pretty good--smooth, flavorful, and what you'd hope for if you like a classic sweet, strong iced coffee. The Pho Cold Brew, on the other hand, was a bit of a miss for me. It was definitely interesting and I could taste the coffee, but I can't say I loved it. It also didn't really hit on the caffeine side, though that might just be me building up a higher tolerance lately. What stood out more than the drinks was the vibe. They had a DJ playing music, which made it feel more like a hangout spot than just a coffee run. Another plus: very dog-friendly and clearly a pro-dog coffee shop. Overall, a decent place to chill and try some creative menu items. I've had stronger coffee elsewhere, but this place might be worth checking out if one's never been.

Pho spice matcha

Yummy matcha not too heavyily creamy. I Got the pho spice, one it tasted nice not too flavorful mostly tasted of the oat milk but I didn't mind the light flavor because I appreciated it being not too sweet. The cinnamon roll was really good, a good level of sweetness and didn't taste too indulgent. The bagel sandwich was flavorful and the bagel was high quality, a little more toasted would improve it. The photo booth was a nice touch and the openness and outdoor seating were great too.

Love this legitimately dog friendly cafe! It has an indoor and outdoor area where dogs are allowed to hang out. Came in on a Sunday afternoon and it was quiet and relaxed atmosphere. The drink selection is something I had never experienced before. They take inspiration from Vietnamese and American coffee styles to create something unique.

Double pandan latte is perfect for people who want something sweet but not too sweet! Service was fast and friendly too

Stop by to grab a drink. Wasn't feeling coffee or matcha but my sister got it and she enjoyed it! I opted for the Lilikoi jasmine green tea - OK YUMMM. It was super refreshing and love the tea leaves they use here! Parking can be alittle tough but the place itself is super cute!

I know there are so many coffee spots in San Diego but I think this place is a great addition to north park. They offer such a great space inside and outside and host plenty of events with different groups, especially for pets. The ube and pandas cream tops are worth the addition and the coffee is good and strong. I also tried their savory scone and really liked it. Key recommendation: if you ever pass by they have a photo booth outside that you can stop and grab photos with a friend!

Cafe is cute inside! It is clean and also has both indoor and outdoor seating. The employees were so nice and patient. All of the drink offerings sounded amazing. I loved the emphasis on Vietnamese flavors. The drinks are definitely not your average coffee shop and I loved the innovation. I ended up getting Chance's Vietnamese coffee which is supposed to be a pho-flavor inspired Vietnamese coffee. It was delicious but I do with I got more spice/pho spice flavors from the drink. Overall it was yummy and I would love to visit again to try all of the other drinks!

I came across this shop's IG profile and decided to stop by today. It is located next to McDonald's off of El Cajon Blvd. Parking can be very tricky in this part of town. The shop is very clean and minimalist, with indoor and outdoor seating available. They offer a minimal selection of drinks and bites, like mocha waffles and pastries. Doggie friends are also welcome to this space, and they even have puppuccinos on the house for them. There was only 1 barista working, taking orders and making the drinks. She was polite and helpful. After i ordered my drink, I went into their outdoor area to take pics in their photo booth (2 strips for $6). Unfortunately, the barista forgot to make my drink since 2 guys ordered after me and kept her preoccupied in conversation for a good 10 mins. She made their drinks right away, and also made the other 3 person's drinks that came if after them. She was very apologetic once I asked her about my drink. I ordered an iced double pandan latte with oat milk, which was pretty good. I'm not sure if I'll stop here again anytime soon.

I stayed at the Lafayette Hotel next door during my quick stay in San Diego. I needed caffeine after my flight and convinced my teammates to try Chance's Coffee. I saw that it was hot & new at the time and was intrigued by their unique flavor offerings. At the time of our visit (in December), they offered a soft opening menu with pandan latte, pho cold brew, Vietnamese coffee, as well as a few snack items like mochi waffle and Viet coffee cinnamon buns. I regret not trying the snacks! They looked and sounded amazing. For my drink, I opted for the pandan latte. It was slightly sweet and strong. The pandan flavor was on point and not overwhelming at all. The cafe is small, but bright and offers ample seating. The staff was wonderful and patient. I highly recommend Chance's Coffee if you're in the area!

Finally got to try Chance's during their AAPI heritage celebration with Kaphe Muna and Ming Oun's food. The interior is well designed, with the coffee bar to the left and ample indoor and patio seating. Street parking is available within a few blocks, and the drinks were about $8-10 with tip. The quality is great, and I would come back with my pup next time!

The coffee itself is decent, though not particularly memorable. Unfortunately, the service is where this place falls short. The staff came across as unwelcoming and inconvenienced by customers simply placing an order for an already expensive coffee. During my visit, employees were openly discussing customers, using profanity, and creating an atmosphere that felt more dismissive than hospitable. In a market where coffee shops are everywhere, service is what sets a business apart. I'd rather get a mediocre cup of coffee from Starbucks on University and be greeted with genuine appreciation than pay premium prices and feel like an interruption. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, because the location and concept have potential. As it stands, the customer experience leaves a lot to be desired. If you're going to talk about your customers, go into the back like a normal disrespectful disenchanted individual. I sooooooo want to like the place but Do better.

My only beef is the small size, as it's really hard not to down the drink in the span of five minutes or less. They also have some really cool assorted pastries if you get there in time. Bought a bag of their beans and it came with a free cup of drip or iced from that same bean. After browsing their selection of beans, I couldn't quite find the type of profile I like but there were a variety of profiles. I bought a bag for a gift for someone who might appreciate their shop style and profile. At the time of my visit there were no decaf beans available. Took advantage of taking the free iced coffee and was surprise of my sipping acceptwnc! RAW POWER - their mainstay coffee which has a profile of chocolate and orange. I had this as an iced coffee - straight up black with no added anything and I thought I'd hate it without anything but I enjoyed the ice coffee as black and plain. From here I could really taste the bean profile very clearly and indeed could find the chocolate and the orange, more the orange than the chocolate. I am not into acidity or tart when I take my lattes but I don't mind that orange flavor when I take an iced coffee. It was an inquiring taste! I'd like to come back and try their decaf beans with with a flavored latte or an iced coffee plain as possible.
