Usually I don't care to write reviews but this place was absolutely unprofessional. A few weekends ago I came in and as soon as you walk in there's an odd smell,and if you look behind the counter where the drinks are being made you can see how unsanitary it is. I think that's vile considering that's where the drinks come from. I got a thai tea with boba and the boba had the worst consistency out of all the shops in the springs. The thai tea was bitter because I think they forgot to add sweetener. Which leads me to my next point which is that the workers had no clue what was going on and did not care to demonstrate good customer service, especially this young man with long curly hair. He seemed to be annoyed when I was confused on what to order which caused me to feel uncomfortable, and I can tell he put no care or thought into making my drink. Okay, so I love boba, but I recently ordered a jasmine strawberry tea (no milk), expecting a refreshing green tea with strawberry syrup. Instead, I was given a strawberry milk tea which I didn't even ask for but maybe the menu is like that. But it tasted really off. I watched them make it and it looked like the base was premade. I actually work at a boba shop, and we always mix the milk in fresh, never let it sit like that. I still gave it a try, hoping it'd be okay, but honestly, it was gross. Coffee & Tea Zone is a great place to order a coffee or tea. I ordered a chai tea, it was delicious. It was a bit on the sweet side, but in my opinion it tasted better than Starbucks or any of the main stream coffee shops. Where do I even start? I went into this store on Saturday a little after 10, and the service was absolutely terrible. The girl working was unbelievably rude -- she kept giving me dirty looks the entire time and had the worst attitude. My drink was awful, and honestly, I wasn't even planning on saying anything because I figured maybe she was just having a bad day. But today I met up with my friend, and she told me she went in on Sunday and had almost the exact same experience. From her description, it was definitely the same girl -- bigger build, brown hair -- and she said this girl gave her nasty looks too and acted like helping her was such an inconvenience. If it were just me, I'd let it slide, but hearing that she treated someone else the same way tells me this isn't a one-time thing. This is seriously the worst service I've ever had anywhere. I don't know how someone like that even has a customer-facing job. Hire people who actually make customers feel welcome -- not like we're bothering them just by walking in. read more

I dunno what's going on with this place. But it's really been going under. My boyfriend and I used to love going here. Unfortunately the last few times, our drinks have been awful! The smoothies aren't very blended. We get very big chunks of ice. If I wanted to drink a cup of broken up ice I would've ordered that instead. Will not be going back. Highly don't recommend. My boba drink was great. I had wanted a Thai tea with boba, but asked for it to be blended, which wasn't offered on the menu. They had no problem customizing my order. My husband had a berry smoothie and he liked it. My complaints were that the cashier was rude. I was trying to figure out the menu so I read out loud what one of the items had listed, and he cut me off mid sentence and responded very rudely with "I KNOW WHAT IT SAYS." Okay? Then some of the furniture in the place is broken or needs repaired. My toddler almost got hurt sitting at one of the tables where the table top was broken and wobbly. read more

So I come in ask on a Saturday night Nov 16th at 6:05 pm for a toasted coconut Boba, I asked for extra, extra Boba I get a strange look from the employee a large male kid, I said it doesn't matter how much extra I like allot of Boba please, I was very nice I even tipped the younster a couple dollars of course as he watched me tip and said nothing as most kids do these days. Makes me never want to tip but out of habit as I'm older I just do it.. either way I then watch this kid place one scoop of boabsla then drains the rest of what's in the leftovers in the bucket into the strainer and place in my cup. That was the extra, extra. He had a smug look at I literally watched how much of a lack of quality he provided for what cost me a total of $14. Dollars. The owner should be ashamed he has employees that not only do not care about what customers pay for but have such poor customer service. I wouldn't reccomended this place ever. read more

I looked for a local spot to meet a friend for coffee / tea and found this place. There was a line out the door, and the service was fast and friendly. The boba was just absolutely old and gross. I always ask "When was the boba made?" And they said it's made "every hour, on the hour" which seemed a little far fetched to me, but who am I to question such a claim? Turns out the boba were hard as bebes. I avoided them at all costs after that, taking up valuable drink real estate. I HIGHLY recommend Teapioca up the street instead. read more

arrived for a coffee at 0940 thinking it was open because the sign says "Open." after 20 minutes waiting for a black coffee, I had to leave as I had plans. the young laFt apologized and when I asked why the store isn't ready, she shared that they technically are NOT open. When asked why they require her to have the Open sign on and doors open, she shared it's required. the young lady was very nice and kind. This review is not against her at all! My boyfriend and I wanted to give this place a try bc we love boba drinks. Coming from California we didn't expect much and we were hesitant. Needless to say we should have went with our instincts. We asked them for almond milk bc we don't drink cow milk and they messed that up on both drinks. They completely messed up the green tea boba,,, didn't know that was possible. They also didn't remake my boyfriends drink so he wasted $6. They should have made him something different or refunded him. Pretty much all of their bubble tea is made from powder. I've been all across Asia and the US and I have to say that this place serves the worst bubble tea I've ever had. They charge extra (.75 cents) for light ice (I've never heard that one before) I guess the cost of adding an extra one cent of tea is worth it to lose some customers forever? I haven't written a review in ages, but thought this was an appropriate time to do so. I came from Oklahoma (with two friends) to visit a mutual friend who moved to Colorado Springs with her husband. We decided we wanted bubble tea because we are avid drinkers. We each ordered 4 different drinks: a coconut drink, cookies and creme coffee (with boba), a green tea matcha (with boba), and a milk tea (with boba). The service seemed to be quite patient and kind, until all 3 of my friends received their drinks within 5 minutes. I was pondering where mine was, but realized there was a rush of around 8-10 people who walked through the door. Mine was finished, but sitting on the back corner. I understand this was because of the unexpected rush, however when I went to the counter to ask for my matcha (sitting on the back counter) there wasn't an apology from either of the two employees. My mom is from Taiwan, where bubble tea originated from, and milk tea is really the 'classic' boba drink and should be perfected before being served. Unfortunately, my friend's milk tea was incredibly sweet -- he was able to finish his, but was dissatisfied. The coconut and cookies and cream boba was actually quite tasty. The final drink, my bubble tea (green tea matcha) was incredibly too sweet. I went to the counter and politely asked if I could receive a newly made matcha with half the sugar. The worker looked a little perplexed and said that it was against policy to remake a drink. I asked if they pre-make the matcha with sweetener. She replied yes, and shared that she had also put additional sugar in the drink. Needless to say, they did not remake my drink -- I told them it wasn't a problem. I only drank 1/4 of my drink and threw the rest in the trash can dumpster a ways away from the store. I'm giving 3/5 stars because I understand how important and even detrimental Yelp reviews can be. Yet, I want to make it clear that the bubble tea needs work -- 2 out of 4 of the drinks were far, far, far too sweet. The purpose of milk tea and matcha is to place tea at the forefront and sweetener as an accompaniment. I certainly don't place blame the workers, as they were only following store policy. I would just recommend working a bit more on the bubble tea and being upfront about the sweetness. read more

This is the PERFECT place to come, hang out and watch K-Pop and other random videos while waiting for your movie next door. I'm thrilled there's a place in Colorado Springs that offer bubble tea, chai tea, and frozen slushes mixed and cooked to perfection. It's so hard to get really soft tapioca balls and properly mixed chai and bubble teas. You sometimes get crunchy crap on the bottom of the cup, chalky and overly sweet concoctions and all at the wrong temperature. I've only had the bubble tea and the chai tea but my friend tells me their mochas are delicious and better than Starbucks. My only wish for their menu was more add-ins like pudding, crystal jellies, or mini pearls. Also, a panini couldn't hurt either. They're open late nights, there's free Wi-Fi and plenty of comfy seating so you can chat it up with your friends and kick back. read more

Great boba, but terrible service. It's disappointing that anywhere we go now people feel entitled to a tip for making a beverage or scooping ice cream. I walked in at 10:00 on a Monday night and received a lack luster greeting, but still somewhat friendly. After ordering my drink and paying It seemed like the cashiers attitude changed. It dawned on me why once I left. The cashier saw that I put a "0" on the tip line. I am all for tiping for good service. However I don't think a tip is necessary with any retail transaction. A tip is to show appreciation for being served not being an order taker. Ive been to the coffee and tea zone downtown and they are much more friendly and personable. Coming from someone who has gotten bubble tea from the likes of Southern California and other cities that are more "authentic" to the bubble tea scene, this place is not too bad. I enjoyed the chai tea, it was made into a slush/frappe and the added on boba was decently soft and very good. I love to grab a drink and put it in my purse before movies too because of the sealed cap! It's all that we have around here so make the best out of it and try this place. read more

Ordered the guava smoothie with extra boba and it was very refreshing! The boba was a little less flavorful than most I've had, but the price was fair. The gentleman at the counter was very nice and even though he was the only one working, managed to get my drink made in under 5 minutes. Will def be back again! read more
