Found this place just farting around on google, and so glad I did. A cooler full of weird beer, a couple taps, and all coffee and teas are vegan? Yes, more please! This is my new favorite coffee spot near my neighborhood! We didn't realize it was a fully vegan spot until we came in & it was a pleasant surprise, no additional charge for alt milks!! Woohoo!! The aesthetic of this place is SO cute/cool, I absolutely love it. Plenty of tables to sit & work at and the natural light is also great. Very clean & bright. I went on a trip to Portland a few days ago and was excited to try the coffee here. I went to champagne poetry and keeper coffee first and they both tasted flat and no flavor at all when I paid extra for flavor. Truly disappointed on the non-existent flavor and taste. Coffee beer was down the street from where I was staying and decided to head in. I was greeted with unique art surrounding me and a friendly barista. It was definitely a kind and inclusive environment. I have ordered the peach latte and blueberry lavender mocha to taste and both were amazing. Actual flavors that I could taste from what the menu stated. I wish I could've gone back for seconds, but I had to head to the airport. I'm glad to experience this before heading out. read more

Updating my review after I was lectured in a condescending tone by the barista for ordering my drink to go, then deciding to sit inside. Although there are no signs mentioning you're not supposed to order your drink to go if you're not gonna leave the premises I clearly broke some rule. Met up here for coffee, and it was a pretty cool place. Seemed to have a nice selection of both coffee and beer, the person working the counter was very friendly and my coffee came out quickly. This SE Portland (secretly vegan) coffee shop/neighborhood bar is far and away my favorite neighborhood weekend spot--from the drinks and food to the service and atmosphere and and and. They're nailing it on all fronts. They have all the plant-based milk options and give great recommendations on the best way to drink each. And both their breakfast and lunch menus are delish--though I admit, I have been ordering the War Enscramble sandwich and 'Roni pizza pretty much exclusively since I first tried them. Pretty sure most of the foods are from from Snackrilege. The baked treats are all great and hard to resist. There are also endless afternoon bevvie options--beer, wine, kombucha, seltzers, etc. It's hard to decide if it's beer time or coffee time (oh right--hence the name). I really love the space. It's light and bright and filled with plants and perfect for working or reading or catching up with friends. They always have chill music and in the summer, it's nice to sit outside. Sometimes they play sports (no sound) on their projector or old movies--if you follow them on Instagram, you can find out when they're doing movie events. :) The best part, though, is the owner and staff. They're all super friendly. It's like they're hosting a party--they greet all their guests like old friends, make the rounds to make sure everyone is happy, and it feels like every customer seeks the owners out to tell them adieu before leaving. Is it okay to call a place "cute"? Well, it's cute. I joined them opening weekend. This was a Friday afternoon. Mostly I was looking for a beer and a look around. It was bright with natural light, welcoming, friendly. One of the owners, Jessica, was present engaging with her guests. A couple small tables were occupied. I had a Pfriem ale. Pretty sure it was the Citra Pale. In addition to coffee and beer, they offer hard liquor, some nice non-alcoholic options, too. Four draft beers- mostly local and the obligatory Rainier draft. I was hoping for a little snack and I perused the menu. All of their offerings are Vegan. I selected a sandwich. The Notorious BLT. I was a surprised to have been handed a plastic wrapped sandwich, as if selected at the gas station mini-mart grab n go section. It was fine, I just was not expecting that presentation. Made w Seitan, I am not too privy, but that's the Wheat Meat in the sandwich. It was alright. I had it on a plate, no napkin offered. I guzzled another beer and chatted with the owner and another couple customers, I enjoyed the rain/bright sunshine combo out the vast windows. Liked seeing all the people pass thru. I was very impressed with the beer options in the cooler, great variety and loads of n/a, kombucha, wines. Definitely right in the middle of a neighborhood. SE 42nd behind the Safeway off Powell, I cannot recall the precise cross street. I didn't try out the Coffee, they are collaborating with Juniors - and think they are working out their blends. Also, they have a wall of branded swag to purchase. I like their immediate branding on everything and I think they have a lot to offer. The most important thing was they were friendly and have a diverse selection. Prices okay, my sandwich was $7.50 and the beers were between $4-5. I bought a cool looking Coconut, Sparkling Lemon drink for fun. Haven't tried it yet. read more
