The prices can be high, because there's limited batches and they change these out quickly. A place to pay more attention to the beers than the atmosphere. It's a quieter place to drink. There's a bar and a patio. Basic looking. It's about $8 a pint. Can be expensive, but many of the beers are made in small batches. There's many beers that change depending on the season. Best one we had the last time was the Brews For New Avenues. This is a pale ale, and proceeds are donated to charities for the homeless and others. It has notes of citrus, guava, and red berry. The other beers include some with floral flavors if you're into that kind of stuff. For sure it's a place with high quality beers. It's located on SE Stark between 10th and 11th. They're closed Mondays and Tuesdays.

I have to say it was lovely to grab a bright drink and sit outside with the good weather while snacking from the food trucks. I got the electric city cocktail and I really enjoyed it. It was fruity but not very sweet. A lot of cocktails i usually get are a bit too sweet so this was a nice change of pace. The bartender was helpful and quick with preparing drinks. So i definitely would recommend giving this place a visit.

Coulda been a weirdly off night I guess but - The brewpub: I came alone often and either had a great chat with the bartenders or I struck up conversations at the bar with strangers. People from the neighborhood but often people from across the country who came to experience the best brewpub in town. It was on many lists of best of, it was hopping, the patio dominated the intersection. This visit was a quiet late afternoon, notably different and no servers in sight. Which leads to... The food: I came for the nachos. I was bummed to learn that they closed their kitchen. They have another vendor using it which operates via QR code - scan, order, and pay (and tip?) before receiving your food. It's smashburgers and wings. I miss the nachos and the buffalo chicken. I miss the servers. I miss the buzz of a busy dining room. I miss actual service of a sit down restaurant. I don't resent them making changes but if I wanted a food cart experience I'd go to a food cart. And in general, I'm not interested in paying $16 for a burger, no fries, and no service. The beer: this is why you're here, right? Right?! Turns out I do still like the beer but not when it's divorced from the rest of the experience. I can get this beer at bars across Portland and in the grocery store - the special thing about it was the beer AND the brewpub. Also, it's summertime. Where is the Rainbows and Unicorns? Why does the grocery store have the classics and the pub itself does not? Having not been around to support this place I feel bad that I am reporting negatively on the changes. But I also feel like it's important to be real about what you're paying for and what makes your business attractive, and the now ubiquitous smash burger and indifferent service isn't it. We ordered Farmer and the Beast, and the interaction with the staff was frustrating. The guy with the long hair who delivered our food was flat-out rude. When we asked where the silverware was located, his response and attitude were just as rude. I understand that restaurants can be busy, and I'm not expecting special treatment, but basic courtesy and customer service should still be a priority. The food was one thing, but the overall experience was significantly hurt by the attitude of the staff and the lack of actual service. A good brewery and good food can only go so far when customers feel like they're an inconvenience for asking a simple question. We've been to the establishment plenty of times over the years - would recommend the NW location over this one.

Perusing the menu, I chose a Hazy IPA and decided I wanted to try their peach cream salad. My fiancé chose to have their lunch special which entails a beer, a burger, and their fries. The beers were great! Hazy as it should be with hints of fruit. Yet, their salad was not good. Do not get their salad. Their salad was very salty, the peaches weren't sweet nor was the cream. It was salty overall as if the kitchen accidentally doused it with too much pistachios and couldn't clean it up, I'd say skip it. My fiancé's burger was way better. Service is okay. They don't really check on you at all. Overall, it was a cool experience to drink and eat in a church. I'd recommend it!

We were here for several hours and sat outside at first because it was a lovely day and then migrated inside once it was a little darker and cooler to play some games. Unfortunately it was way too loud in the back room to enjoy the music, and there was a rowdy FIFA game on, so we headed out pretty quickly. Second visit, we came back on Sunday night for dinner. The vibe was significantly more laid back. We were able to sit in the booths in their main bar area and enjoy pizzas and a sandwich. Across both visits, service was consistently good, the food was solid and satisfying, and the beer was excellent. It's great neighborhood taproom with a fun energy. Just know what you're walking into depending on the night's entertainment!

Also very much needed for the texture. The fresh peppery arugula give the whole burger more crunch and that special freshness kick. So it's a good burger. So, a great burger? Not in my opinion the meat and more importantly the cheese hide in the background almost hard to taste. Which is a shame. I think a different cheese or at least double amount of it would benefit and would take the burger to a great one.
