Love me a no frills local diner. This one is no different. The service was on top of their game and the food came out fast. You really just can't beat a coffee, plate of eggs and hash browns from these type of places. The sausage gravy and biscuits were also outstanding. Pretty affordable place to go as well.

A Classic & Wonderful pancake, at a great price.....!

A fantastic, classic pancake at a great price. I've eaten at the coffee carrousel since 1986 & it never disappoints. No better price for a wonderful breakfast in Sarasota.

    Favorite counter.

Consistently old Florida local diner with standard breakfast plates and sandwiches. Pancakes are flavorful. Service is family run and has been woman owned and operated for over 35 years. This is where you go and really meet the Sarasota city condo dwellers catching up on local city gossip. Always hot coffee and food cooked to order. Bring the groups too for outdoor seating can accommodate them.

We stumbled upon this place and decided to check it out. It's a cute old school diner with great food and service. It's a bit of a tight squeeze inside so it's a little difficult to properly social distance. Definitely recommend sitting outside, it's perfect. You can't beat the prices at Carousel, you're really getting more bang for you buck. Biscuits and gravy, omelettes, pancakes, bacon/sausage/corn beef hash for less than $30! Food was absolutely delicious and we would 10/10 recommend if you're in the area. Plenty of parking on the street.

I found this little gem while was looking for some coffee. This little diner on main st was a perfect spot for breakfast. They keep it simple. Good customer service and hearty food. They opened in 1987 and were celebrating 35 years in business. Employees still there from day one! Come find this little place. You won't regret it!

Fluffy pancakes, the best sausage links I've ever had and perfectly done eggs!

Unassuming, and almost hidden except the locals are regulars. We just happened to find it by accident. And we kept going back because it is so good!! They do diner food to perfection!! The staff are really friendly and efficient.

Definitely the cheapest breakfast spot in town. Nothing fancy, but the food is decent and the service is excellent.

I had the most delicious breakfast. Everything on my plate was perfectly prepared. I had the traditional breakfast which was 2 eggs, bacon, potatoes (or side salad) and toast. I swapped the toast for a croissant and had the eggs scrambled with Swiss. The eggs were out of this world....super light and fluffy. The potatoes were crispy outside, soft inside and the bacon on the crisp side, but not too much. The way i prefer. The while meal was absolute perfection. I live Sarasota and go every year so I would certainly go back. The assortment of pastries and quiches looked amazing. If we didn't have a 3.5 hour drive ahead I would have brought an assortment back. Our waiter, Bryan, was lovely. He was very personable and our order was brought out exactly as ordered. My son had a veggie burger on a roll with lettuce and a yellow tomato slice with a side of fries. He enjoyed it very much and actually said he was full (he is never full). The cafe is open 7-2 for breakfast and brunch and it is adorable. Nice assortment of coffee and tea as well. Make a point of stopping in if you're in the area. You will not regret it

Actually, just get there early anyway because the pastry items are fresher/better. There's indoor and outdoor seating. I typically skip trying to park next to it and just go to the garage and walk over. The service is more attentive than a typical French cafe overseas but not as on top of you as a typical place in the US. You can definitely order at the counter in French if you want to and I've had a waiter there flip between English, French, Spanish, and another language (maybe Romanian?) in one order. The sandwiches I've had were all lovely, and had a little side salad that could benefit from a better dressing (they serve an okay vinaigrette though). I've yet to encounter a single bad pastry - the elcairs, mousse cakes, and flaky pastries like chausson pommes are on par with the typical boulangerie/pattisserie in France and don't make me think US adaptation at all. Prices are reasonable.

I got the poularde crepe, wanting something savory. This was solid and tasty. Everyone else got nice little meals as well. I do feel like the portion and the quality is a little lacking for the price. That being said, I don't know that there are better French options in the area. I also got a palmier pastry and I should have gotten a croissant, the palmier tasted a little stale. The locale was adorable, with beautifully tiles tables really setting the scene. Overall, not terrible! Worthwhile if you're really feeling French.
