This little area has a few gems in the way of eateries. I was more than happy with my vanilla latte. I venture to say, my latte was the BEST I've had in a very long time. Ordered with almond milk and it was perfection. Also ordered this huge cinnamon crescent which was delicious. Be prepared, the line moves rather slowly, but it's worth it! You can't hurry perfection. My one complaint was the cashier. She was not friendly, nor was she helpful. She hurried me as well as all the other patrons behind me. Rolled her eyes a few times because she was annoyed when people asked her questions. I would say, this place is worth coming to, but to make it even better, teach someone to smile and provide better customer service. You can up-sale more of your goods with just a little kindness and patience. I will be back to order food next time. It looked delicious! read more

Some of the other reviews on here are really off the mark when it comes to customer service. They were very polite and approachable. I had no issues with hearing my name when called out or with the cashier getting my order down correctly. I honestly noticed an issue with customers being rude when visiting, not staff. The pace of the line is a little on the slower side because there is one cashier. However, I think it's because some people didn't get to view the full menu until they were in the front of the line. Maybe having a large printout or QR code at the door can help. I just looked up the menu on Yelp. If I were to rate just the food and drink, it would be a 4 instead of a 5. The Angelino burrito is listed as having habanero salsa, which made me initially think it was going to be spicy, which it wasn't. I can't blame the restaurant since it looks like most of the clientele aren't the type to eat much spice in their food. I would just change the "habanero salsa" as just "salsa" on the menu. The lavender matcha was also delicious but I wish it had a more earthy than sweet flavor. Again, it might be because of their target demographic. read more

Came here on a weekday to grab lunch and it looks super cute inside. I see a lot of people coming here to do work as well so I assume it's study friendly here. The restaurant looked very cute and they also had outdoor seating which was nice. It's located in a little town ish looking area. I got a brisket burrito and it came with chips and salsa. I don't even know why I'm reviewing this place. They don't need it. It's always packed and always a vibe. I've been coming here for years and it's one of my favorite places to drink coffee and get work done. Their food is good too - see below. Service: The baristas are helpful and know their coffee. Food: freshly baked soft cookies and salted caramel Rice Krispies.... Trust me. Do it. If you need something more savory, I've only had their breakfast burritos. Not the best in town because we have a lot of fire in town, but still great. I actually like their veggie breakfast burrito. Coffee: their hot coffees are great. Whether you get their drip coffee or pour over or one of their lattes (oat milk latte is good), you'll be happy. One area of improvement I found is in their iced coffee - it's good enough.... Yesterday, I was with my friend, and we had a gym class. I went in to buy a bottle of water, and the young man was very rude to me. This is the first time I've been in such a situation. I usually don't stay silent, but I didn't want to ruin my mood dealing with someone who seemed mentally unwell. I took out a hundred-dollar bill, and he responded and rudely and angry , repeating himself three times as if I were a child in school, saying, "We don't accept hundred-dollar bills." I took out my card to pay, and he just stared at me and repeated the same thing. He was a young man, and I think he has mental health issues. You should teach him how to deal with customers. I also work, and I wish you would come and see how we treat all our customers with love, respect, and appreciation, always smiling. I'm not his maid to treat me like that. Service is okay, coffee is not bad but nothing special, but sheesh the experience! I came by to do some work with friends and the music is so insanely loud we all made comments about it. and quite frankly, the choice of music is horrendous. I don't want to hear every cuss word in the book while I'm just trying to do some work, and can't even put my headphones in because again, the music is that loud it wouldn't even matter. We had to yell at eachother sitting at the same table. Chairs inside and outside are so uncomfortable, and the bench along the shop wall has the tables attached by a rod going under the bench so with the size of the table it's just awkward to sit right or straight. Coffee Commissary is so cute to come and work, and it's in the suburbs of Glendale right by Brand Park. I LOVE their pink branding, pink mugs and pink coffee bags. This place is always busy and finding a good spot is lucky if your come late, so come early and don't come on a time crunch. They sell pastries and local art, and have a full food menu that is very good. However, the coffee is not good (the man next to me was drinking Starbucks lol). The matcha, turmeric latte, chai lattes etc are pre-made and pre-sweetened, meaning you can't customize them. This makes for overly sweet drinks that are missing the earthy flavors I love and overpowered by agave syrup. I tried to avoid this mess by ordering their bottomless drip coffee, but the coffee was harsh and the oat milk coagulated in the cup (I'm not sure why that happens, but it only happens sometimes and every time it does I know the coffee is going to taste bad hahah). Anyways- go for the food, go for the ambiance, go for the free Wi-Fi and plugs- but don't go for the coffee! Three words. Best coffee ever. Worth the traffic from coming from Hollywood. Flavor and Quality: I can't explain it but the ROASTED flavor is what makes this place so unique. I literally couldn't finish the potatoes because there were so many of them, would much rather have more of the sandwich! To be fair the menu does accurately list it being on two King's Hawaiian rolls--which if you've had before, you know each one is pretty small--but you can go to Dog Haus and get a full size burger on four of them instead, for about the same price. Been coming for years and consistently declining in service and quality. A cappuccino is not a latte. Cashier with back turned to door chatting with Barista took a good minute to realize customers waiting. Both chatted and then took breaks to continue without multitasking. The shop was not busy just a couple of early customers. My cup of latte was a weak espresso pull and no foam hot milk.
