    SPICY CHICKEN SANDWICH
    Christina P.

My Cafe & Lounge is a beautiful corner café located right in the heart of Glendale. The exterior is elegant, well-lit, and inviting, making a great first impression. One thing I appreciated immediately was the parking. There is plenty of street parking, a parking structure directly across the street, and additional parking nearby, so getting there was surprisingly easy. As soon as we walked in, the owner, who was sitting near the entrance, warmly welcomed us. We initially started walking toward the cozy booth section in the back, but were told that area is reserved for dinner service and wasn't open... We weren't the only ones confused, as another guest came in shortly after and tried to sit there as well. That left us deciding between a few café tables downstairs, outdoor seating, or the upstairs loft. We first tried upstairs, but there were only a couple of two-top tables available. One was occupied by guests working on laptops, and the seating felt a little close together. The remaining tables were reserved for larger parties, so we ended up heading back downstairs. One of the available booths faced the restroom, which isn't my favorite, but I simply sat on the opposite side and it worked out just fine. Once we got settled, everything improved. Our server was friendly, attentive, and happy to offer recommendations. I ordered the French baguette turkey sandwich, while we also tried the spicy chicken sandwich, which both the server and the owner highly recommended. The owner even mentioned it's what he personally eats almost every day, and I can see why, it was delicious. We also ordered fries to share along with two hot lattes: a chai tea latte and a mocha. Both coffee drinks were excellent and easily some of the highlights of our meal. The atmosphere is charming and cozy, making it a great place to relax, catch up with friends, or enjoy a coffee date. Before dessert, the owner recommended the mini pancakes and the waffles, with ice cream. They both looked great, but I've had similar desserts at several other cafés recently, so I wanted to try something different. I ordered the brownie with ice cream instead, and I'm so glad I did. It was rich, fresh, and absolutely delicious. One thing the owner emphasized was that they use fresh ingredients without preservatives and focus on quality. After our meal, I believe it. Everything tasted fresh, thoughtfully prepared, and made with care. Our total for two people, including tip, came to about $120. It's a little on the pricier side for a café, but you're also paying for the ambiance, quality ingredients, attentive service, and the overall experience. Overall, we had a very enjoyable visit. My only suggestion would be to make the seating situation a little clearer for first-time guests, since several of us naturally gravitated toward the closed dining section. Other than that, the welcoming hospitality, quality food, excellent coffee, and relaxing atmosphere made this a place I'd happily return to.

Love this place. I am leaving this review after several try. Store manager is very nice person and he is top of everything. On our first visit he noticed we were kinda lost on the menu and he just helped us with the best and delicious options from the special breakfasts and tea through the deserts which was delicious. He was very friendly and helpful. Staffs were taking care of everything. Beautiful romantic place for date nights and a live music band is playing on weekends which makes it more interesting. Lots of indoor and outdoor on the sidewalk tables are available. This is One of nice and romantic place in Glendale for special nights.

It's always a nice treat when a Yelp friend comes to town and you get to meet for the first time. The spot...My Café - a charming and picturesque eatery in Glendale. The guest of Honor, Ronnald M from Orlando Fl, is as sweet as the house made desserts in the display case. My lovely gals, Te-See & Rosie, joined us too, which made the gathering more fun. The entranceway is stunning - marbled floors, a gold staircase, and a gorgeous cascading chandelier. There is a side room that is also lovely and a lounge area upstairs. Monica was our server and she was an absolute delight. (Jordan was also darling.) Our order consisted of Pistachio Toast, Croissant with butter & jam, Honey Cake, "Rafi" Coffee, Chai Latte, Iced Tea, and a glass of Prosecco. The Pistachio Toast was made with charcoal bread topped with a lightly sweetened pistachio spread and fresh strawberries & blueberries. It was tasty. The Honey Cake was like a crepe cake. It was good and not overly sweet. The Prosecco was crisp, light, & refreshing. Before we left, we had a nice chat with the owner, Tony. He was very friendly and told us they were working on opening a location in Florida. That made Ronnald happy. He also mentioned they have live entertainment on the weekends starting at 7:30 pm. *Free 90-minute parking in the structure across the street. $2 every hour after.

Okay, so we must talk about the coffee first...The "Coffee Queen" give this place 5/5 for their coffee...Why, you might ask...Well, first of all this is owned by Tony who is Armenian, and one of many things Armenian's are known for is their coffee! Spot on! Now let's talk about the decor...WOW! Spectacular! As soon as I walked in I was greeted by Jordan. He showed me around as I took in the high ceilings, spacious feel and the huge gorgeous chandelier hanging high above the stairs that led to another dining area where you can reserve it for private events/celebrations:) Let's get back to the food! They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner with LIVE Entertainment on the weekends starting around 7:30pm. The baked goods including the cakes are all made by the staff off the premises. YUM! Dennis made my delicious "Rafi" coffee: Espresso, vanilla, sugar, oat milk. My croissant was very flaky and fresh. The others ordered & shared: *Pistachio Toast - Black charcoal toast with pistachio spread & fresh fruit - 5/5 *Honey Cake - light and tasty, not too sweet - 5/5 *Chai Latte - 5/5 *Iced Tea *Prosecco Our server, Monica, was very sweet and took great care of our group! Will be back for dinner so I can hear the live music! *They are looking to expand to the Miami area , Sunny Isles, Florida. *Parking is FREE for 90 minutes in the lot across from the cafe - then $2 for every hour after that ~ and that's all I have to say about that...

Place is super clean, and aesthetically pleasing. I ordered the watermelon salad and the coffee and the fruit was fresh. The only thing is I wish I knew prior that there were time limits at this place. I was only informed after I had ordered my food. I was recommended this place by my Armenian coworker who is a regular at this spot and she was surprised when I texted her after that there was a time limit. I did bring my laptop with me because I didn't want to leave it inside the hot car and used it for a few mins so unsure if that made a difference in information. There needs to be a sign unless I missed it.

We stopped by for coffee, smoothies, and pastries, and everything we ordered was delicious. The pastries were fresh, the smoothies were great, and the coffee was the highlight of my visit. I ordered a coffee with two shots of espresso, and it absolutely hit the spot. You can tell they use high-quality coffee beans. The shop was clean, the staff was friendly and attentive, and the overall atmosphere was welcoming. They also have a hookah area for those who enjoy it, which adds a unique touch. Their menu offers a good variety of options, so there's something for everyone. Overall, a great place to relax, enjoy a quality cup of coffee, and grab something tasty to eat. I'll definitely be back.

    Italian Pizza
    Sal C.

We started with the French fries and the portion was good. They were golden, crispy, fresh, and paired well with their really good ketchup. My wife ordered the tiramisu latte and said it was delicious. We also tried the Italian pizza topped with arugula, burrata, and prosciutto. The ingredients tasted fresh and high quality. Personally, there was a little too much arugula for my taste, but it was still really good overall. The absolute star of the meal was the spicy chicken sandwich. One of the owners even came up and told us he eats it every day, and after trying it, I completely understand why. The bread was toasted perfectly, the chicken was tender, juicy, and flavorful, and the melted cheese brought everything together. It reminded me of an amazing buffalo chicken sandwich. Easily the best thing we ordered, and honestly, I'd eat that sandwich every day if I could. We also finished with the bird milk cake, which was really tasty and a great dessert to end the meal!

As much as I want to love these luxury-looking spots in Glendale and give them a fair chance, I end up regretting it every time. My friend and I stopped in for a simple coffee, she ordered an Armenian coffee and I asked for an espresso. The staff speaks Armenian to you regardless of your preference, which is fine, but just something to note. I grabbed a bottled water and asked for two glasses. Unfortunately, my espresso was extremely sour and clearly not made correctly, and both water glasses had a strong egg-like smell that made the water undrinkable. When it came time to pay, I noticed there was already a credit-card fee added, so I chose to leave a cash tip instead. I skipped the tip option on the machine because I had cash in my hand, but the gentleman ringing me up, who seemed to be the owner or manager, actually asked why I skipped the tip. I explained that I was tipping in cash and also shared what happened with the glasses. He insisted I was wrong and said it was impossible because they "use four types of chemicals" to wash them. I asked him to check the glasses still on our table; he said he would but then walked away and ignored it entirely. This is the second time I've experienced rude service and overpriced food here. I truly want to support local Glendale businesses, but experiences like this leave me no choice but to leave an honest review.

It was such a vibe here! And all of the desserts we got were delicious! Honestly I think it's a great option to catch up and meet with friends, family or even for a business talk! Only thing to note is it is a little pricey but you get what you pay for! The atmosphere is wonderful and everything was yummy!

Service was excellent, food was average, ambiance was rich and posthumous. Its is not the type of café to lounge at...even though its name says otherwise. After an hour ordering food and coffee, I was asked to leave.

I love this cafe. First of all it is a cafe in Glendale that is open late and this is So rare ! And always , it is busy . The staff , they speak English Armenian and Russian and I think Spanish so it is comfortable environment for me . My favorite is their fancy lattes like tiramisu latte , ferrero rocher latte , etc . They have delicious desserts . Honestly it is kind of expensive , but worth it to me because I love to come by myself or when I have to study for exams , and everyone is so nice . Last time they treated me to a free item so I left very happy

This was also my very first time at this location, and I must say it was quite a treat! The coffee shop is conveniently located right across from the Americana, so you can easily street park or park at the mall and walk over. When I approached the counter, I was greeted by the friendly employees who were busy preparing orders. This gave me the opportunity to peruse their unique menu and settle upon a latte to order. My sweet tooth was in effect and I opted for the Tiramisu latte with oat milk and was asked if sweet was ok! I thought it was so cool how you're able to customize the drink as you please and bonus points for no charge for nondairy milk. It was very affordable at $6.85. My latte came out pretty quickly and I marveled at the cocoa powdered topping. It truly tasted like a dessert and was so rich and indulgent yet somehow I didn't feel gross after drinking it. The oat milk was creamy and perfectly frothed and the espresso was well balanced. I had a dance class that night and it gave me just the right amount of energy to make it through the class yet still manage to sleep fine that night! I will definitely return next time I'm in the area as a few other menu items sounded equally enticing and the customer service was so impeccable!

So many people define themselves as experts. Sadly, many of those same people will walk in and say things like, "Gosh, I'm tired, could you make me a double espresso?", clearly assuming that stronger taste automatically means more caffeine. My wife and I simply like a good coffee in the morning. Which leads to the obvious question: what do we define as "good coffee"? For us, it helps us get into the day, tastes pleasant, and does not leave a bitter note. We are absolutely not coffee experts and can discuss coffee, at best, at what we Germans would call "Thekenniveau" -- bar-counter level. I do understand, however, that it may make a difference whether beans were roasted weeks or even months ago somewhere remote, then shipped and stored, or whether they were roasted locally and recently. So we asked ChatGPT, and one of the recommendations was REGENT Coffee in our neighborhood. We went. Our directive was very clear: we explained that we knew little to nothing about coffee, which was precisely why we had come in and were looking for advice. The lady helping us started with: "Well, it all comes down to the settings of your coffee machine when you pour your espresso." I responded that we are not really espresso drinkers -- we drink Americano. She gave us "the look" and explained that an Americano is espresso with more water. The information: fair enough. The way it was communicated: not ideal if your goal is to win me as a customer. From there, the conversation did not really lead anywhere. We were asked questions such as whether we preferred nutty or fruity coffee. That may be a perfectly reasonable question for someone who already knows what those terms mean in practical taste terms. But we had just told her that we did not. That was the entire reason we were there. We were not looking to prove our coffee knowledge. We were looking for someone who had the expertise to guide us. In the end, we bought an Americano. It was served so hot that my wife burned her mouth in the car, and it took almost the entire 45-minute drive to Santa Monica before it had reached what we considered a comfortable drinking temperature. It cost $5. And we did not even particularly like it. Would I go again? No. Would I recommend REGENT based on this experience? No. What makes this particularly disappointing is that this was a tremendous lost opportunity to turn us into long-term customers. We like expert advice. We drive to Farmers Markets to buy fresh produce knowing full well that we may pay 200% more for something that is perhaps only 15% better. But we can taste the difference, and that makes it worthwhile to us. Coffee could have been exactly the same. If I specialized in coffee, I would make it incredibly easy for people like us to enter that world. I would offer tastings. I would explain, in simple language, what "nutty", "fruity", "chocolatey", "bright", "smooth" or "low acidity" actually mean in the cup. I might offer a short class on how to set up a home coffee machine properly. Maybe even machine-specific sessions. Maybe in the shop. Maybe at the customer's home. Because there are customers walking through the door saying, quite literally: "We know very little. We want advice. We are willing to spend money." And even better from a business perspective: Not just money once. Continuous money. Imagine if the conversation had instead started with: "I totally understand where you are coming from. Coffee can become unnecessarily complicated very quickly. Since you mostly drink Americano and want something smooth rather than bitter, let me give you two small tastes so you can understand the difference. Then I'll recommend one bean to start with." We would almost certainly have bought a bag. Possibly two. And if we had liked them, we might have bought beans there for years. Instead, they sold us one tiny cup for $5 over the counter, while the payment screen suggested an 18-25% tip. And two potentially very loyal customers walked out frustrated. That, to me, is the real business lesson here. It is not about whether REGENT makes good or bad coffee. Taste is subjective. It is about recognizing the customer who is standing right in front of you. Especially when that customer is effectively saying: "Please teach me how to spend more money with you." And then making sure you do not send them home without doing exactly that. Small caffeine footnote: espresso is more concentrated in caffeine per ounce, but a normal serving of drip coffee usually contains more total caffeine than a single espresso because the serving is much larger. Stronger taste does not automatically mean more caffeine.

I ended up with a house coffee and a jalapeño cheddar bagel. The coffee is ok although I think their specialty coffee drinks are a little better. Can't go wrong with a bagel and cream cheese. I notice they now have a sign where you can only work on a laptop for an hour (I've worked on a laptop there in the past and stayed for2 but I don't think it was a rule back then). With that said, this is a nice place to grab a light bite and read or chat with a friend while there.
