If you know coffee or espresso, you're going to LOVE Coffee Corral. Let's face it- lots of people who go to the national chain coffee shops order the coffees with flavorings and milk/cream. It's the taste of the flavoring, sugar, etc. comes through, and you could use just about any kind of coffee and get the same result. But if you know about (or want to learn about) the subtle differences of coffee beans grown in various countries and at various elevations, you need to go to the in Coffee Corral. I don't know of another place like it in Monmouth County. The baristas are knowledgeable and are more than willing to teach you. They'll grind the coffee beans in front of you, and tell you why the fineness of the grind needs to be adjusted multiple times during the day. Try a cup of their "single source" coffee to get a taste that you just won't find in a blend of coffee beans. I really love visiting here but because I find them to be a bit pricier it has become a rarity. It's more of a special stop, a treat you could call it. Yes, it is just that - a treat! Everyone is super nice and friendly, the coffee is spectacular. I'm in love with the Nutella coffee made with real Nutella! They have soups and snacks, smoothies, coffees yada yada yada = yummy. One suggestion would be to add some more seating. I think they would definitely get more business if they had ample places to sit or for locals to grab coffee & meet w friend (like me). Was supposed to have a light afternoon snack at The Danish Cafe with my friend but they were closing within the hour so we re-routed to Coffee Corral by the help of Yelp. Might I add that the address on Yelp is wrong and it's 177, not 117. Easy street parking, free standing building (apart from other stores). Walking in, there is literally one high table to sit at with 4 bar stools. Everyone ordered their coffee to go, so my friend and I thankfully were able to sit. Definitely not a place to sit and study or bring with multiple girlfriends (do guys go on coffee dates?). Got to talk to the owner for about 10 minutes about the business. She was very honest about the costs and risks of things, but also shared with me the investment that she and her husband made into this coffee house. They'd done 2 years of research prior to opening while traveling to Washington, Oregon, and Iowa to learn about beans from all over the world. Basically, one word to sum up Coffee Corral is integrity. If you check out the bathroom, they have huge posters and charts about varieties of beans. It made me feel extremely dumb and like a child because I had no idea there were so many different ways to categorize and describe coffee. But also good because I know the business owners have a passion for it. I had a single source Bali (barista will be glad to do a little shpeel for noobs). It was strong and I determined that by the almost immediate laxative effect LOL. I also love that they have a variety of milks and sugars for coffee to customize it. I will definitely be back. I hope in the future to see their seating expand, even to outdoors, especially being that they're approaching 2 years of being in business and should start responding to the demand. What a disgrace of an establishment. The coffee is decent and thats about it. I would highly recommend going to Rook Coffee instead of here. The coffee is beyond overpriced and they actually have the nerve to charge extra for almond or oat milk. Basically, if you don't mind paying 8 dollars for a cup of coffee (no im not exaggerating) then this is your place. Nestled in the heart of Red Bank, there is a reason this place hasn't expanded like their competitor, Rook. Go visit here and you'll understand why they will never EVER will be as successful as the other coffee shops in the area. If it wasn't for the regulars that come in every day this place would be out of business, and rightfully so. Also, vegans/vegetarians beware, the employees don't properly clean the areas and cross contamination is rampid here. OSHA needs to pay a visit to this establishment and enjoy a 8 dollar coffee as they watch the raw eggs being prepared on the disgusting cutting boards that aren't properly cleaned. Very disappointing for the price I paid for my order. Where's the flavor??? The chai latte tastes like plain milk, the arnold palmer tastes like dirt and was very bitter, and the specialty drinks had no added flavor- the pomegranate rose tea espresso tasted like a bad latte and the lavender honey chai also tasted like straight milk. Staff was also very unorganized not knowing who paid for what. They only get a star for being nice and pleasant to talk to when ordering. read more

I absolutely love this place. Russell is a great guy and is always willing to chat with customers while we wait. The baristas are also very nice and happy to make small talk if one is so inclined. I am also enrolled in the frequent customer loyalty program that CC has. I've given pounds of CC product as small gifts for coffee snob friends nearby and far away (Baltimore & Philly areas) - CC *always* receives high praise. Rook just opened not too long ago (behind Starbucks) here in Red Bank. I've gone a few times to see how it compares since I work on Broad Street. It's good, but honestly, CC is better. The man who took our orders for curbside pickup was extremely rude before we even gave our orders , did not know what the term "unsweetened" meant, and rushed our orders even after we said we were looking at the menu. And to top it off he completely ignored our request for almond milk in our coffees. He also was not wearing a mask. One of the best in NJ. I have lived in NJ all my life. I love Starbucks. But when I visited my friend in Oregon. I discovered even better coffee at local coffee houses. So I went to some popular coffee houses in NJ to see if they were better than that green and white cup. And they were not. Coffee Corral, however, with its location a little off the beaten path, looked REALLY promising. And it delivered! A Northwest-quality coffee shop right in NJ. The espresso was perfect. Coffee made by the cup will change how you view coffee. I got a mocha-cino, which is a cafe mocha. And it was rich, chocolatey, and had a perfect espresso shot in it, way better than Starbucks cafe mocha. I got my father a decaf coffee, and they had a selection of at least three decaffeinated brews, which is way above what anyone else usually has in NJ, and my dad thought his coffee wasn't fresh because the brew was darker than almost any decaf brew he's ever had. I also got an iced chai for my mother who doesn't drink coffee. And she loved it. Overall, can't rave enough about this place. They're the real deal. Sadly, I live 40 miles away in Toms River and can't make this a daily spot for me. :( TRY IT. read more

I always enjoy the smell of this place as soon as I walk through the door. I like the fact that I can text in my coffee order and it will always be ready. When it is crowded, it does tend to take a little longer to get your coffee. Coffee Coral has all different types of beans, from all around the world. The staff is very knowledgeable and will happily help you choose a great bean. Prices are definitely a little higher than I'd like, but I still treat myself to a coffee here every now and then. read more

When my favorite place got shut down after a fire next door, I had to find a place real fast to get my caffeine fix. Tried rook, however my mustache was not curly enough and my shirt was not the right kind of flannel. I really tried even got a fixed gear bike. So rook was out. Then driving through Red Bank one day I noticed Coffee Corral. I figured I would give it a shot. I am now a convert! By far the BEST coffee in the state, and one of the top 3 in the country (I am a coffee snob)! Phenomenal coffee that is roasted right in store, and ground with a pour over. Extremely nice and knowledgeable staff and a cute barista make it go beyond 5 starts! Do yourself a favor give up whatever swill you are drinking and take a trip to Red Bank. read more

The coffee is freshly made for each cup and I love that they don't use plastic filters. They also have organic options which is great for many reasons. The customer service here is amazing. Everyone is extremely courteous. My boyfriend is here almost every order and they basically has his usual order ready when he walks in. They have a HUGE selection of coffees to choose from. They also have your healthy, gluten-free snacks as well as delicious cronuts (a mini obsession of mine). This is a good place to have a cup of Joe. I recommend the house blend it is bold strong and even good without milk or sugar. They have a wide selection of exotic coffees that are pretty competitive in price. This is a step above Starbucks. Because it's unique, It's very staff friendly, and a good selection of pastries and sandwiches. The staff are very attentive to the customers concerns. The morning rush can be time-consuming, but that is because of the success of this place. I heard a lot if good things about this place, and all I can say is that I was really disappointed, I either like my coffee with a little bit of cinnamon or hazelnut flavoring, they didn't advertise hazelnut which is my favorite of the two so I got cinnamon, my coffee tasted like big red chewing gum, I was not happy, then I asked why they didn't have hazelnut because I was upset of the taste in my coffee, and they said we do. They never advertised it so I was upset, I just would not recommend this place, if your looking for coffee go to rook. read more

I ordered Costa Rican twice online. Flavor is fantastic. Price and shipping are very reasonable. However they don't say when to expect your order, so it is difficult to estimate how far in advance to place an order for fresh beans. I had to call to get the second order re-started, they sent a receipt but not the coffee. Order was handled by customer service, excellent response.
