Nice little carnaceria with a restaurant attached. We came in for dinner on a night of the NHL Stanley cup finals along with a world cup game. We asked the server if we could watch the hockey game on one of the TVs that wasn't showing the world cup game. She gave me the remote and told me to go for it. I found the game and was able to watch the end of the 2nd period as well as the entire 3rd period I enjoyed the carnitas, tender, flavorful, and plentiful. Their Refried beans were fantastic. This was the perfect end to a long Mother's Day weekend on the water. Portions, especially the carne asada fries and burritos, were very large. The enchiladas were more like wet corn tacos, but still extremely good! Their salsa bar was good and all the sauces had great flavor. Heading out from a weekend in Parker and came to Tierra Caliente based on the reviews. The place is very clean and the food good. My husband and I both got a breakfast burrito. We stopped in for lunch and as always the food was delicious! Authentic Mexican cuisine! It's where the locals eat. They even have a deli with marinated meats, salsas, fresh tortillas... this place also catered my dad's 80th birthday party a couple of years ago! The atmosphere is calm, inviting and friendly. Since we ate in we were given a basket of warm salty tortilla chips! Goes perfectly with their complimentary salsa bar! My favorite was the salsa verde and guacamole. Great place with a decent Menu of choices. Lorreta went for The Rolled Tacos with Beans & Rice. Nice plate with tasty Rolled Tacos. I chose The Machaca and Eggs that were very well seasoned with moist Shredded Beef, Tasty Beans and Rice. Nice way to start the day. The food was much better tasting than it looked in the photos. We stopped for lunch and shared a tamale plate. We had one beef and one pork tamale. Excellent tamales and the beans and rice were seasoned perfectly. We enjoyed the variety of salsas at the salsa bar. The service was the best. Definitely a place to stop. read more

****VEGAN REVIEW**** My parents were craving nachos so we stopped by this place for lunch on our way back to LA from Lake Havasu. Great service and great food!! The lady who was working the front was so helpful in answering our questions and even helped us customize a burrito to our liking. FYI: their rice is made with chicken broth and they re-fry their beans in lard. However! Ask for whole beans!! Great sub for the retried beans! The burrito we had was amazing! Tasted homemade and was super filling even tho I split it with my boyfriend. Our order: 1) Burrito: Bean burrito, no cheese or rice, add French fries, pico de gallo, lettuce, and guacamole. 2) Chips and salsa: Their red and green sauce are not spicy at all which was perfect for my mom (she can't have anything that is slightly spicy).
