Looked for a place to have some coffee, my non-cultured asian ass didn't realize this place was a Korean coffee house. As I entered the place, it became apparently clear that this is a popular coffee house cool Koreans come to to hang out. From looking at pictures posted from my fellow Yelpers, I knew I had to try the Haus Bingsoo. It's a collage of awesomeness -- vanilla ice cream, kiwi, fruity pebbles, strawberries, redbean paste, corn flakes, mochi, bananas, all over shaved ice. You have to check it out! The place has electrical outlets for your laptop needs and three nice sofas with flat screen TVs. The staff there is nice and very friendly. I've been going here since high school and used to get their cantaloupe bubble tea all the time when the previous owners were there. When they changed owners and incorporated the bing soo and ice cream waffle concept, I had to give it a try! The bing soo and green tea ice cream waffle taste great, although my favorite is the bing soo. I usually get the Haus Bing, which is mochi, fruity pebbles, strawberries, kiwi, banana and ice cream over shaved ice. The green tea ice cream waffle is pretty much one scoop of green tea ice cream over one waffle. On this particular night though, I was determined to order my bing soo because it's been so long since I last had it. However, that idea got crushed when the employee said, "Our bing soo machine is out of order." That reminded me of a time when I went to Panera Bread at 8:30 p.m., and they told me they were out of bread. Sigh. I got the Green Tea Bubble Slush, and was pleased with its flavor. The tea still comes from a mix powder, however the slush was smooth and consistent through the very last sip. The tapioca was great too - it stayed soft and chewy even after nursing my drink for about an hour. Overall, It was very good. I'd give 4 stars after i try this Bingsoo people keep yelping about, and when they accept AMEX. I was surprised, that on a Monday night that the place would be very busy as it was. If you're looking for bubble tea, this is it! The menu is a bit overwhelming if you don't know what the funny named stuff is. I didn't, by the way...but I do know bubble tea! I had taro which we Filipinos call ube. Ube rocks! It's purple yumminess! My teen had the green tea bubble tea. We both loved our drinks. First impression on a Monday at 5pm is this is a Starbucks for kids. There were teenyboppers at every other table just hanging out. Old folks like me call it loitering but they seem to welcome it at Coffee Haus. So if you're a kid, this place is for you! If you're over 22 you probably will feel old here. Cute little dessert shop for Korean shaved ice and drinks and a fun place to hangout! Warning though, this place is PACKED almost every time I stop by. However, this will be my go-to place for desserts from now on after years of searching for places to go outside of the city. I got my mom into bingsu and she claims that this place is her favorite lol. We ordered the green tea bingsu to try after going around trying other places green tea bingsus. The pros: lots and lots of toppings: red bean paste, mochi, strawberries, frosted flakes, fruity pebbles, and a scoop of green tea ice cream. The cons: not much ice nor flavor. As wonderful as toppings are, the ice itself was a little underwhelming. Along with that, the toppings that were on it were veeeerry sweet and didn't go well with the green tea at all (fruity pebbles + green tea = ?????). Additionally, the ice cream on top tasted more like vanilla than green tea. We wished it could have more condensed milk, matcha powder, and less cereal. We didn't finish our bowl in the end, but my mom still claims this place is her favorite (I think she just likes eating lots and lots of mochi pieces lol). However, I would recommend this place to friends and would come back to try the other bingsu flavors. This place offers more variety than others and it's always hopping here, so that must be a good sign, right? Plus their presentation is very Instagram-worthy for those who are here not just for good eats, but good pics as well. It's a cozy snack shop/coffee house. They serve coffee, beverages, and food in a Korean fashion. The young ladies behind the counter were very kind to answer any customer's inquiry. I'm pretty familiar with how a Korean-style coffee shops works and quickly placed my order: a bowl of green tea bingsoo. All the food is made-to-order, so I don't think it's an appropriate place for someone who's rushing to get in and out within two (2) minutes (seriously, buddy...get a life and slow down). However, there are comfy seats and couches for you to take a breather. Their bingsoo is a little different from the one I'm Java &Mug in the Chicago North Park neighborhood (see my review on Java & Mug if you're interested). It was an ice cream/cereal combo; it appeared to be a regular bingsoo with ice cream and fruit on top. Nevertheless, there were cereal flakes on the side. On the very bottom it featured milk. I'm not s huge fan of cereals, but this bingsoo was still tasty. I like a cold bingsoo on a very-cold winter day. Yes, I'm strange like that. The entire venue was clean, except they were experiencing a plumbing problem in the ladies' washroom. I believe they were aware of the problem and instructed patrons in detail on how to flush the toilet. I would still prefer the bingsoo served in Java & Mug. The J&M charges a slight more for a shared bingsoo but there is more variety of fruit and ice cream since I can skip on the cereals. read more

Coffee Haus is great! This is a nice place to bring your lap top or hang out with friends, and enjoy a tasty treat. They have comfy and cute bench chairs and tables too. Last time I was in they were playing some great music and had Ellen on one of their two TVs! The name Coffee Haus is a little misleading if you ask me, because they offer so much more. Truthfully, their coffee is my least favorite thing. I ordered a decaf iced latte and it was pretty bitter. I like a bold coffee, but honestly it was a bit hard to drink. Their smoothies on the other hand, are delicious! I've had one with peanut butter in it that was really good. My favorite discovery here though is the Bing Soo! I had no idea what this was, but by the photos on Yelp it looked delicious. The woman at the counter helped explain the ingredients to me (it's a Korean dessert). I specifically asked about the Oreo bingsoo and the strawberry bingsoo. Both sounded just delightful but at the end of the day I was choosing between cookies or fruit and well... I went with cookies! Bing Soo comes in either a cup or a bowl and I thought the cup size was just perfect. The Oreo flavor included a layer of shaved ice, then cookie crumbles, then shaved ice, another layer of cookie crumbles, cookie ice cream, chocolate sauce, and an Oreo on top! YEAH. It was heavenly and not to mention totally Instagram-worthy. My husband really enjoyed their coffee bubble tea. So much so that he almost ordered a second beverage but then decided... betta not. I appreciate that they have power strips everywhere which makes plugging in your lap top really convenient. Parking is easy and the service is quick and friendly. Love this place for their 100% fruit smoothies with/without tapioca (boba). Tried to visit this restaurant a year ago for coffee as the name suggests. However, this place doesn't open until 11:00am! Too late for coffee after dropping off kids at school in the morning. Fast forward to late March 2018. Needed a smoothie and didn't want to go to Jamba Juice at the Streets of Woodfield. This place make AWESOME smoothies! Try the pineapple, it's refreshing and delicious! My son came with me for my second visit here and he picked two fruits: pineapple and mango. He loved it! When ordering a smoothie you have your choice of one or two fruits from a list of options. They also serve...coffee ha ha! Have yet to come back and try those tempting options. Bathrooms are clean and available to use in the back of the store. There's a nice but small seating area to work or talk while enjoying your drinks or desserts (yep, they also have those on the menu). read more

I've been a few times before but believe I ordered some sort of coffee or frap that didn't blow me away. I don't remember lines being as long as they were before (out the door both days this weekend). However, they move it pretty quickly. There's plenty of tables and couches to enjoy your treat on, mingle or study/work. We had the weirdest experience here. Totally unrelated to the joint itself though. There was a dude who stood at the door blocking the entrance. When we confronted him, he just mumbled something and continued to stand there. Another group came by and the process repeated. There we stood outside waiting to enter thinking there's a wait to get in when someone sitting nearby clarified there wasn't a wait. Weirdest thing. Anyways, once inside, you'll learn it's worth the wait. It was my first time here and the menu doesn't exactly clarify what's in the bingsoo so I had LOTS of questions, like LOTS. I prepared the cashier helping me that I had LOTS of questions and boy was she an angel. I can't imagine a more thorough, knowledgeable, and patient person explaining and helping me select my bingsoo. Unfortunately, my short memory is not able to retain the entirety of every item in the bingsoo, but I remember shaved ice (duh!), a red sweet tart syrup, some sweet white syrup, a scoop of ice cream, fruity pebble, mochi, mango (we ordered mango bingsoo, so yeah), and I may or may not be leaving off something. The whole thing cost about 10 dollars, but it's definitely more than enough to share with another person or two. The whole thing to my palate is a smidge too sweet, but they seem willing to accommodate adjustments, like omitting some of the syrup and such, which would probably help with that. I debated taking off a star for the fruitty pebbles getting soggy and wish they served the toppings on the side, but I know all bingsoo place serve their toppings on the shaved ice and I didn't specify or ask for toppings on the side, so who know if they accommodate that. If the TV show Friends were set in modern day Schaumburg, this would be the Central Perk of the show. It's a great place for friends to hang out and drinkcoffee, bubble tea, or eating bing soo. I came here today to try the mango bingsoo and it's as great as everyone says it is! It's got mango ice cream, mango fruit pieces (not frozen pieces!), fruity pebbles, red beans, and shaved ice. It's so good! You can either get it in a cup or bowl and I got mine in a cup. They give you a decent amount, but I do feel it's a tad bit pricey. Someone mentioned on here that the place isn't that clean but I disagree. The place looked clean to me. It was a great place to get away from the heat outside! I could see myself coming back here with friends and just hang out while eating bing soo or drinking a bubble smoothie. read more

I love the idea! The set up but ... Bad service! I told the cashier that we will be sitting outside since our order will be ready in about 10-15mins But he said you can just wait by the door.
