We had a mixed experience at Sweet Reserve, but positive overall. If Yelp allowed half stars, they would be a solid 3.5. We ordered a cappuccino, almond croissant, and cherry danish from a very helpful staff member. The pastries were pretty good, albeit on the heavy side. My danish was packed with cherries but didn't have much of the cream cheese I was hoping would cut the sweetness a bit. The cappuccino was the highlight, smooth and not overly bitter. We were there mid-morning on a Saturday, and two people were working. Our pastries came out pretty quickly, but it took a very long time for my cappuccino due to a large to-go order they were handling. It's understandable, and we weren't in a hurry anyway. I've only been here once and so I don't know if that's typical, but something to be aware of in case you're on a tight timeline. I met a friend here a few months ago for the first time and have already been back several times because I genuinely love the food and coffee. This cafe does so many things right, starting with the spacious parking lot located in a large strip mall, which makes stopping by very convenient. Inside, the dining room is bright, elegant, and welcoming, and the staff has been consistently friendly and kind. During my first visit, my friend and I ordered for dine-in, and I immediately appreciated the thoughtful details. The ordering counter displays a variety of freshly made pastries and bakery items that are very tempting. My drink was served in a real glass, and my food came out hot on an actual plate with a fork. I love places that make dining in feel intentional and special rather than treating it like takeout. I ordered the spinach Turkish bread ($8.75), and it completely exceeded my expectations. It was generously filled with spinach, cheese, and garlic, and the flavor was outstanding. You could tell it was freshly made and homemade. Just writing this review is making me crave it again. I also ordered an iced caramel macchiato ($6.25), which had a perfect balance of sweetness and bitterness and paired really well with my food. One downside is that the dining room is not very large, so tables are close together. As it got busier during our visit, I became a bit uncomfortable because I could clearly hear the conversation at the table next to us, which meant they could hear ours, as well. It is something to keep in mind if you plan to stay. Because of this, I now usually order my drink to go. Overall, I am extremely impressed with this cafe. Delicious coffee; the service and pricing could use some work. I got a small hot pistachio latte for $8. It was delicious! Although a little too expensive for the overall experience, the taste did not disappoint. The interior was also beautiful. I came on a Friday afternoon and had no trouble finding a seat. The service and ambiance on the other hand was lackluster. One of the baristas was sitting on her phone watching tiktoks out loud when she wasn't making orders. If there was music playing in the cafe, maybe it wouldn't have been as noticeable or disturbing. Unfortunately, it audible through the entire cafe. The other barista, who took my order, seemed like she would rather be anywhere else. It was a really odd interaction that left me feeling like I was intruding by placing an order. Both of the two workers seemed to be making an effort-- one of them noticed my table was a little dirty and came by and bussed it. I love this super cute cafe and bakery! I live out of state and I frequently visit my friend in the area. We discovered this place recently and make it a point to go there whenever I'm in town. The staff is friendly and food is delicious. We placed a mixed order (we wanted to enjoy some items in the cafe and take some to go) and the staff kindly offered to keep our to go items in the fridge until it was time for us to leave to ensure they'd be as fresh as possible - totally going the extra mile! We've been here for both breakfast and lunch. On the breakfast side I enjoyed the pistachio latte with oat milk and the apple cinnamon danish, and my friend enjoyed the Ube shaken espresso and the quiche, both of which she loved. On the lunch side I loved the grilled cheese with fig spread and my friend enjoyed the ground beef Turkish bread - it's huge and flavorful! I also had the pistachio tiramisu which was HEAVENLY. Went with some friends around 1p on a Saturday. Beautiful, open and welcoming vibe. I appreciated that they both had printed menus to review but also a display case of the food. There was no line and the employee who rang me up was friendly and helpful. I asked to buy a Coke with my meal but since they're more of a coffee shop they don't have soda. I asked if it'd be ok if I drank my own Coke I'd brought and they were fine with it. We all had the Turkish bread - two of us had the spinach and feta while the third had beef. I loved mine. As others have shared, the space is small so it is hard to find a seat during busy times of day. But, I often see people working here or having what appear to be work meetings or school study groups. The savory pastry I tried was a sweet, salty, and flaky Mumbai chicken filled treat. It paired well with an iced coffee drink. Check out the unique, hand-crafted art and jewelry for sale in the corner near the front. The lines and wait times are longer during Friday Farmers' Market Fridays, so don't expect to get in and out quick on those days. (Fridays, June through October). I've been here a couple times now. The first time I went, I ordered a london fog, which was very good. I happily came again and ordered the ube matcha. For 10 dollars, it was ridiculous. There was barely any matcha and it still managed to taste cheap. There wasn't any ube flavor to it either, just tasted like milk with food dye. Sweet Reserve Bakery & Cafe is exactly what it's named. It's tucked away in the same center as Bonefish Grill. They have a very nice barista coffee bar where they make really good lattes, cappuccino's and espresso drinks. They have a nice place to sit and enjoy your coffee and sweets too. The deserts that we tried were all excellent! The XL sugar cookie was the perfect amount of sweet, was nicely dense and soft in the middle. The key lime tart was made with fresh limes and a light meringue on top. The mini pecan pie was loaded with nuts and had a simple biscuit like crust. The brown bomb (I call it) was a beautiful mousse enveloped by a decadent thick ganache' coating. The pistachio tiramisu was pretty good but I just returned from Italy and of course no tiramisu is going to come close to this! But they did a nice job and made it authentic with pistachios and I liked the rose petal garnish they put on the top. The individual cup style was perfectly packaged. They offer breakfast items and have cakes you can order or choose a ready made that can be personalized. Also huge variety of macaroons. All in all the prices for the items I felt were good as they are using all top quality ingredients. Everything tasted Devine! Very nice packaging and the sweets are very impressive too if you're bringing to a get together. I definitely will be back to try other treats from them. Stopped by real quick on my way to my next meeting to grab a coffee and a sandwich. I was a bit surprised (and honestly a little confused) that they didn't have regular drip coffee only Americanos. I went with a cold brew instead, but it unfortunately tasted more like water than coffee. Personally, I wouldn't recommend coming here for drinks. On the upside, the food and desserts were much better. I tried the tiramisu, which was absolutely delicious moist, rich, and flavorful. I also got the chicken salad croissant sandwich, which was generously filled with chicken and tasted fresh. Servers were kind, younger staff. And the place was well decorated, could use some music. Even with people in it, seems quiet. Overall, I can't say I'd come back for beverages, but it's definitely worth visiting for the pastries and baked goods. The food/drinks and sweets here are very good although it seems that they never change the variety for the sweets meaning they always have the same thing, sometimes though they do have a packis day every 6 months. The ambiance in here is very nice and it is the best thing among these 3 reviews they have very nice lights it can sit around 20 people and it is easy to dine in there. The space itself is on the smaller side and I was surprised to see how they were able to add as many tables/chairs as they did. This CAN be a great spot to huddle up and work out of. If you're looking to charge your laptop that will be challenging. There aren't many/any outlets to utilize. I was here with 2 other gals and 1/3 of us were happy with the food/drinks. I tried the Kashmiri chai and wanted to sub the milk for oat but wasn't able to. The staff member let me know that particular drink is made in bulk/large batch so there's no way to sub anything. I decided to try it anyway as I've seen the Kashmiri chai as a popular drink. It was a miss for me, didn't taste fresh and the quality was underwhelming. I had about 3 sips before I completely stopped trying to see if my mind would change. This is not to say others won't enjoy it! Just wasn't for me. I also tried the pistachio croissant and thought it was OK. It's very sweet and a generous portion. Sweet Reserve is new to the Schaumburg area and it has sooo much potential. I had high hopes for Sweet Reserve coming to the Schaumburg area but this was a miss for me. The inside had a main pastry/dessert display, ordering counter, coffee bar, banquet seating, and tables. The aesthetic was very modern with black chairs, globe accent lights, turfed leather, and wood/stone accents. The place feels large but there isn't enough seating offered for the sq footage. They were quite busy for a Friday morning with groups working and coming from the local farmers market. We had to quickly snag a table when entering if we wanted to stay and work. It was disappointing to find out no seats had adjacent outlets to plug in and the wifi was spotty. It was also noted quickly that they were understaffed and not equipped to handle an influx of people. There were three staff members: cash register, coffee bar, food prep. With only (1) available register to take orders, the line grew quickly. I ordered the Rose Cardamom Latte with Oatmilk which felt like mostly milk and lacked noticeable flavors. Iced drinks only come in a 16oz size whereas hot drinks come in 8oz or 12oz options. I also got the pistachio croissant (heated up) which came out luke warm and harder at the ends. None of the items overall impressed me and cost $15 in total. Sweet Reserve has so much potential but my visit unfortunately didn't leave me wanting more. read more

Schaumburg is my hometown, but I live in NYC. I love that Schaumburg always feels like home when I visit, and when I meet up with friends to catch up we like to go to our local favorites. I noticed Sweet Reserve Bakery and Cafe had opened up next to the F45 gym and decided to check it out as a meet-up spot. I am so glad I did! The cafe is warm, inviting and beautifully decorated inside with ample seating and a surprising selection of chai, coffee and tea as well as pastries. I wasn't familiar with some of the chai flavors and the barista was kind enough to offer me a sample of the kashmiri chai both with and without pistachios (it's traditionally served with pistachios). I opted for without, and I was not disappointed! I thought Kashmiri chai is traditionally pink, but I could be mistaken. Either way, I found it to be flavorful and a nice compliment to the scone my friend ordered. I will definitely be adding Sweet Reserve Bakery and Cafe to my list of meet-up spots with friends on my IL visits! read more

Yay, Sweet Reserve is in Schaumburg! Much closer to me than their other location I am familiar with in Lombard. I hope they keep expanding! We stopped in for a cold drink and a tartine one morning. I got the Iced Cinnamon Oat Chai, which was as tasty as what I've previously gotten from their Lombard location. It's sort of reminiscent of a horchata, minus the rice. I also got the Buratta Caprese Tartine, which was beautiful and delicious. The combination of the burrata, balsamic, and sundried tomatoes makes the flavor oh-so craveable. Finally, someone who I assume was the owner walked around with a tray of blueberry desserts for us to sample; it was light and delightful. She let us know she would be leaving the sample tray on the counter, in case we wanted to go back for some more. Now that's some nice hospitality. I went for the hot chocolate after I had seen so many rave reviews on TikTok. Well I got there and they were out of hot chocolate. I was just visiting family in town so I wasn't there for long and don't live in Schaumburg. So I was kind of upset that what I felt they were known for they were out of?! Like how do you even run out! Whoever does the ordering seems like they goofed. Anyways, my mom and I ordered a couple bakery items but nothing was worth is in the end. I got an apple cinnamon scone and a cranberry orange. Both were insanely dry, seemed like they were old or just miscalculations in their measurements. I wouldn't recommend. I also got a cranberry orange macaron and that was not great either. It was very artificial. We got my sister a Dubai brownie and she liked it. Also got her a red velvet cake jar and it lacked any flavor other than cream cheese icing. Definitely not worth the money. Betty Crocker cakes taste way better. My mom ordered a couple other items for her and my other sister and neither enjoyed what they got. I'd also say the staff were not friendly. Sorry if spending $80+ on baked goods, that weren't even good, was inconvenient for you to box up. Next time we will definitely take our business to other bakeries. Starbucks baked goods taste better and have way friendly staff. Your staff seeming rude and inconvenienced by our order is insane. Poor quality management is likely to blame for the staffing. I will not recommend and will not ever return. Just an average bakery with baked goods you can get almost anywhere and downright poor quality service. read more

Overall, I got a 12oz Kashmiri chai with pistachios and it was good. I appreciated the drink was hot but it took a solid 15 mins after ordering to get the to go drink which was a bit too long in my opinion. About a 1-1.5: I'm surprised at the multiple locations of Sweet Reserve in the Chicagoland area. We had checked out their Skokie location, and that visit was not a great experience. However, we were meeting some people in the Schaumburg area and decided to give this local chain another try for some desserts and beverages. We ordered their popular Gulab Jamun Cheesecake and their Ras Malai Tres Leches. Unfortunately, it was literally the same exact experience on repeat - considering it was their opening week, their desserts did not taste fresh and dried out - the drinks that we ordered tasted like flavored water, and the request for these to be 'extra hot' was ignored. Service was off-putting, as the place seemed to be in a chaotic state - it seems as if this chain has a loyal following, but our group just could not understand. The high reviews of this place seems to be sus. Staff could have better training in terms of their communication and their process of fulfilling orders - there was no sense of urgency nor being fair on serving patrons in sequential order. Would have given 5 stars if their coffee is better. I saw they are using La Marzotco coffee Machine which is supposed a high end coffee maker. The coffee has no taste of coffee, no coffee aroma and the foam is not thick enough for the latte. But the bakery is very good, with a lot of varieties. Been here a few times the first couple times was a pleasant experience. The last couple times it was not. As petty as it may seem when ordering we tell them we plan on staying inside the establishment with our order. Each time they gave us our drinks in paper cups even after we asked them to put it in their ceramic cups. Not sure why they would do this considering that the rest of the people around us were drinking coffee and other drinks in ceramic cups. Again might be a little petty, but I think the customer most of the time is right and I think they have children working there and they do what they want.
