    Raisins and walnuts bread
    Jin L.

Always good to support this cozy little cafe. This time, I tried a few new breads. The raisin and walnut bread was especially good when toasted with some butter--just as the owner recommended. It was delicious. I usually enjoy the salt bread on its own, but this time I tried the salt bread with red bean. The buttery, salty bread paired with the sweet red bean created a really nice balance. The owner always kind and welcoming. I arrived a bit late on this visit, so I didn't order coffee. But next time I'll definitely come earlier to try their new ube latte.

Salt bread and sweet potato brioche loaf

Listen, salt bread IS worth the hype, and I was so stoked to have access to it without having to fly to Korea. Mine came right out of the oven, so it was nice and toasty. It's a gorgeous marriage between a croissant and a butter roll seasoned with just the right amount of salt. As I was leaving, the owner gave me a bag of salt bread croutons dusted with cinnamon sugar. The sweet potato brioche loaf was pretty solid, too. Pass on the matcha cookie. I was bummed that the coffee bingsu is no longer a menu item.

    Strawberry matcha, chestnut latte

Very cute atmosphere to walk into right off the bat. I got the strawberry matcha with coconut milk which is VERY good. My friend got the chestnut latte and she said it was quite good, and quite nutty. The service was amazing the lady at the counter was extremely nice and helped us with what to get. She said they make their strawberry puree in house! I definitely recommend if you're driving through Lakewood, very worth it.

My first time at this strip mall Korean coffee shop was so pleasant. I tried a sweet potato latte with a shot of espresso added along with a custard bun- both were great treats. I wasn't able to finish the 16oz coffee due to how rich it as but I really enjoyed it! My friend got an ube coffee and WOW it was great.

Final stop for the Lakewood 3.0 road trip was Coffee Kitchen (10/19/24). It was a good sign on the window that they featured Victrola coffee beans. I was so full from lunch that I had to pass on any treats from the eye catching pastry case, display bins, and the speed rack. I stuck with a 16oz mocha. Well crafted and balanced. I also bought a cube of milk bread. A day later, it was sliced and tasty whether toasted or not. CC had a 12oz mocha and a chocolate chip walnut cookie. However, as we sat at one of the last available tables at this popular, lively cafe, her attention was diverted to something an adjacent table was sharing. It was so compelling that she had to order The Mammoth too. I have to admit it was well named. An aside, turns out a nice couple from Olympia also dined at the same earlier lunch spot. They were very gracious, shared their culinary faves, and opinions regarding spots in Everett, Seattle, Federal Way, Lakewood, and Olympia. Coffee Kitchen had a friendly person dealing with the volume of customers. Upbeat vibe. People with laptops. People having convos. People having group meetups. Very lively! Amazing selection of fresh baked goods from Leia Bakery. Had a mocha, but managed to have a full on cafe experience at Coffee Kitchen. Enjoyed this detour before we headed back onto I-5 North.

    Hello!!!!!!
    Crystal C.

This place is a hidden gem in South Tacoma Way, Lakewood, located in commercial complex behind 7-11 store, so it's not easy to see from the main road but the commercial building itself is very large. It's also across the street from Pal-do World and across the other street from Boohan Korean Market. I'm so blown out of water by the quality of breads, pastries, and most importantly, their coffee. All of the breads are baked right in their kitchen by the owner and they're fresh, warm and after trying a few of their bakery items I can tell they use high quality ingredients. They use Victrola Coffee beans from Seattle and I love Victrola, and the coffee is AMAZING. I've tried just about all basic coffees from Americano and different Lattes (both iced and hot) and the consistency and quality is there. See how many times I used the word "quality" already? : ) time to try it for yourself! The two ladies (one lady who takes order and the other lady is a barista) are so kind and they never stress even when there's a rush of customers. Batista knows what she's doing and will make your coffee and matcha drinks aaaand smoothie right. One more plus is that the parking lot is ample and huge. Lots of cozy seating inside, quiet atmosphere to get some studying or work done too. They have quite a menu of beverages and they can deliver!

Amazing little place! It may seem like not from the outside but once you get inside it's a cute, clean, and aesthetically pleasing. My family was looking for matcha and found the right place. Matcha was Delicious and she makes fresh bread daily. Cute desserts and everything about this place was cool!

Updated Review: The reviews are no longer accurate, they changed owners and revamped most of the menu in August. The options are a lot more limited now. They no longer have waffles which was one of the only reasons for going here. Didnt post any announcements of the changes so I wasted my time to drive here only to find out its essentially just a different cafe using the same name and location.

Cute place open when they are are open! Random place as I was visiting in Tacoma and super cute find with A M A Z I N G coffee. Professional expresso machine with the weight and technique for best tasting lattes. Korean owned with food options too! I would have hung out because they have cute sitting like where you to get coffee and chat. Recommended!!!!

Stopped in on a whim and I'm so glad I did! The baked goods are exceptional and fresh and the black sugar cold brew was the perfect balance of sweet and savory. Very kind staff, 10/10!

When we entered on a Thursday afternoon, we were welcomed by two different female employees. We looked around and they still had a good amount of stock left for their baked goods, hot foods, and other snacks. Inside is definitely dim and very quiet, no music or TV playing to give it any ambiance. The staff seem friendly but also didn't really offer the most welcoming or warm presence that you would typically find in a Filipino establishment. The prices here seem fair and affordable, which was great as we were looking for a snack to hold us over until we had lunch. We ordered a pork siopao, chicken siopao, and an order of their pork shumai. Unfortunately, I don't think the cashier heard my boyfriend as we only got the pork siopao but he was to tired to correct her. She did try to sell us on turon a few times but my boyfriend isn't a fan of turon (I don't know why this is but he is Filipino and just tells me that he isn't a fan of a lot of Filipino desserts). We got in the car to eat our food. Our dogs were with us and were enticed by the smell as well, so that's a good sign as we complimented the smell too. I wish the food was kept just a bit hotter, but that's my minor gripe as I just don't like lukewarm foods. Now I will admit that the shumai is decent, but the sauce that comes with it is the star of the show. It has some spice while having this tangy umami kick that brought out the flavors of not only the shumai but also the siopao. My boyfriend and I were really impressed and tempted to go order more but we will definitely be back to get more of the hot foods and try some of the baked goods.

I know they do not have regular open hours for just walk in purchase, but rather, they're custom order type business, but I have yet to place any custom orders so I cannot speak to that experience. What made me write this review is how accurate the owner (Brianne) described cake and desserts in the description and the baked goods taste matched 200% of the description. The pistachio cake was out of the world, so was the whoopie pie!!! I got to meet Brianne in person and she was very friendly, and was kind to explain everything about each of her baked goods she had out that day. I've tried their baked goods from pop tarts to cookies to housemade Twinkie and the creation and taste are unmatched. Single serve baked goods were more on pricier side, but well worth every bite. I would definitely order custom baked goods from here, knowing the quality and taste of products from this shop!!! Currently, you can find Spilled Butter baked goods at Cosmonaut coffee, Outer Dark Coffee, and at Tacoma Farmers Market (also known as Tacoma Broadway Farmers Market) from time to time. Enjoy!!!
