Really liked the coffee lodge. This place is a quaint hidden gem tucked between a pharmacy and a plaza. Although the selection of product is limited and the menu can be overwhelming due to being a drive through the coffee lodge is worth the visit. On my first visit I had there take on a java chip frappe but only with caramel and some form of Heath to which left delectable desire to return. My second visit was almost as good as the first. Finally my third visit leaves very little room for the lodge to improve, however I'm eager to come again. The coffee is great the staff are amazing and served with a smile. read more

No. Nope. Nyet. I really should have known better, but when I peeked in the window and saw a Simonelli espresso machine and grinder, I thought there was a chance of getting a decent shot. I was oh so wrong. I asked the friendly and pleasant barista at the window who roasted their beans. She didn't actually know, only that they came from somewhere in Oregon. Not a good sign. I was battling a caffeine headache at that point, so I went ahead against my better judgement and ordered a shot with room for milk in case it wasn't drinkable otherwise. The shot wasn't tamped. There is this small projecting knob at the base of the doser that she briefly pressed the portafilter on. NO NO NO NO NO that is not how you tamp espresso. Less than 30 lbs of pressure and you have no extraction and an ashy tasting shot. I was not looking forward to my drink by that point. Sure enough, it tasted like someone had put out a cigarette in stale coffee. Not good. Not even remotely drinkable. I asked for more milk to make it palatable. Which it still wasn't. I don't do flavored syrups or whipped cream or caramel drizzles with my coffee, but that's what it would have taken to make that shot remotely drinkable. The location is cute, has a convenient drive-through, and the lady making drinks was pleasant, cheerful and courteous. I thanked and tipped her, then dumped my drink and went into the auto parts store next door to get a caffeinated soda. If you basically want a Starbuck's drink, go ahead and enjoy this place. The drive-through kiosk is charming and convenient. If you actually like coffee, keep on driving. read more

Evidently they have summer hours and winter hours. The winter hours means they close earlier. We finally managed to be in Rolesville earlier in the day. Once we noticed they were open we decided to stop and grab a couple of hot drinks. I don't know what kind of coffee they use, but it does not taste bitter or over-roasted like some other chain coffee place that rhymes with bar ducks. Maybe it was just the skill of the barista (the owner) but the decaf turtle I had was the absolute best coffee drink I have ever tasted. The husband loved his drink as well. I believe he got a Chai Latte. We were very impressed and will be finding excuses to go to Rolesville earlier in the day so we can hit the Coffee Lodge for a tasty coffee! read more

This place is a little difficult to get to because of the cramped road, margin, and constant traffic, but I find it worth the visit. They have a little area for outdoor seating and a good number of coffee choices. Next to this, they serve Daylight doughnuts and ice cream as well. I don't really write reviews, but this place left a huge impression on me because I came there completely tentative and new and unsure of what to get and the server was patient the entire time and offered suggestions (which I requested). Even though I wasted her time and didn't even choose anything from her suggestions, she was still very kind and good service makes me like places eons more than I usually would. I was having a really bad start to this week, but the coffee is delicious and paired with the doughnut, it was a good start to my day. read more

I loved this place! It's such a cute little coffee shop! We happened to find this place while passing through the area. We were in search of a cup of coffee and happened to just see this place and thought it would be the perfect place to stop. It was definitely a great choice! The coffee was great, and we enjoyed sitting at one of the little outdoor tables while we enjoyed our drinks. The people working there were very friendly. I really enjoyed stopping here. I really like this place. It's run by the owners, and I love supporting local businesses. The drinks we ordered were fantastic. We had the Turtle Latte, Chai Tea Latte and Cafe au Lait. I asked for my chai to be brewed instead of a powder, and was pleasantly surprised to hear that is how they do it anyway. It was delicious. The turtle latte (I think a signature drink) was a flavorful standout. The flavor is spot on. Nothing but wonderful things to say about that drink as well. The cafe au lait was tasty, but I have to admit that the person I got the drink for added more milk to lighten it. Other than that, they enjoyed that drink as well. To sum it up, I highly recommend this coffee shop. The owners are friendly and knowledgable, and the drinks are great. I'll definitely be a regular patron when I'm in the area. read more

Just moved into area about a month ago and was in the area and son was craving ice cream. Walked up and sat at window for two minutes or so before anyone acknowledged our presence. Window opened and would told they would be right with us as apparently someone entered drive thru at same time. The girl working window acted completely put off that we were there and whole experience was not pleasant. Maybe she was having a bad day? Not sure but if I'm spending $5 for a milkshake, I do not expect the window to be slammed in my face after the transaction is complete. For quality of item, son loved milkshake and said it was delicious. I likely won't return just from poor customer experience alone. read more

The coffee lodge is a great little spot for a smoothie, latte, or muffin. I do feel they can be a little over priced. Some days when I have gotten a muffin it was warmed for me and so delicious, other times it wasn't. Sometimes it tasted freezer burnt.... it's hit or miss. read more

I drove by this place this morning while out running errands and did not know it existed. So, having not had any coffee yet I made sure on my way home to stop by and try it out, and I am so glad I did. They have an extensive drink menu, but I just went for a medium coffee with cream and sugar. They either french press or just brewed this batch because it came out piping hot and so fresh. It was a fabulous cup of coffee and I am afraid that I will now be craving this coffee which is not very convenient to my house! read more

This place is great. I got my usual White Chocolate Mocha and they made it just the way I like it. 180 degrees with whip cream! I typically go to Starbucks but I actually like the taste of the white mocha better here. My kids also like the different ice creams they serve. This place has one of the best if not the best Jelly Donut I've ever tasted! This donut melts in your mouth. It was absolutely amazing. Their lattes are so good that I can't stop at a sensible caffeine threashold. A quaint little place with nice people. Unfortunately, my first experience was a disaster. I hate to write a poor review based on one experience, but I won't be going back. The drive-through line was very slow, they forgot to process my food order, then when I told them they forgot the food item, they charged me for the food, then told me they were out of the item they had just charged my card for. The credit card refund process seemed to create a bit of chaos and I'm not sure what my credit card statement will say in the end since I received no receipt. I'm probably just being grumpy since I didn't get breakfast and the 'bold' coffee they served me, tastes like hot water. I do hope this was an anomaly and that this café continues to thrive. Rolesville needs more small businesses to retain its small-town charm. read more

Very cute little place! It is drive thru or walk up only, but their staff still manages to make you feel welcome. Prices are pretty typical for specialty coffee places. I've tried a couple iced lattes, and they've been good. Their smoothies sound amazing; I can't wait to try those. read more

I have had to acquire a taste for their coffee. It's definitely not Jubala or even Starbucks. And they are incredibly slow. I have had to back out and give up in the morning. Often times, I give myself and extra 30 minutes in the morning and with only 4 cars ahead of me, that's not enough. They are the only coffee in Rolesville, so you are trapped. Thankfully they are pretty cheap and if you train yourself into thinking it's good, you'll be fine. Especially if you can wait 30 minutes for one person to make your drink. read more
