New spot in my neighborhood just opened, we came after Easter dinner for a couple drinks. The owner was very gracious the bar was about to close but he kept it open longer for us very appreciated. Ambience is could be improved - the bar has very large windows so can feel a little bit intrusive. Will be back to try out the food!

A solid little menu with delicious food, a casual atmosphere and friendly folks working here. A great place for a date or to stop in when your just off the train. You'll love it!

Went there yesterday, and got an americano! Tastes amazing, this is exactly how the coffee should taste like! The quality can compete with blue bottle or %arabica. Def recommend! P.s. for those who complain about the price, you pay for quality not for quantity product.

Nice lil spot to grab coffee and get some work done ... The coffee is actually worth a sip lol... My friend and I grabbed a bag to go... not to mention the branding is pretty slick. No complaints here.

A local coffee joint that is responsibly sourced, has a laid back vibe, and is just a great place to meet up with someone. do some work, or just grab a coffee and a Small snack. Love how convenient it is to get to on my commute to Newkirk Plaza.

The vibe is cool, music, light and flowers. Barista is cool also. But a bit overpriced

Weak coffee and no flavor. Wanted to like this expensive cup of watery brew but quality worse than Dunkin Donuts.

I've only been twice mainly because the pasty case is sparse, the coffee is expensive and the service is beyond pretentious. Not a fan!

Solid desserts, espresso, baristas, turntables in the back, etc. If you're looking for a cool coffee shop in the neighborhood, this is it.

The coffee taste watered down and has little flavor. I like my coffee rich and full of flavor. Currently, my favorite coffee is Stumptown.

I've been to Toby's, Culture, Madman, multiple times to Stumptown, and am always at least a little disappointed.

As I walk in, the friendly lady behind the counter asks me what I would like. I respond: A cappuccino please. Then, I carefully inquire further for what baked goods are available with a smile. In her reply, she tells me sadly that there is only croissants. So not being picky, I tell her: Great, I'll have one. Next, she brings me a cappuccino on a glass saucer and my croissant on a dish. Also, there are numerous napkins, sugar, long stemmed spoon given to me as well. I felt like a sports lounge vibe with many tables and chairs (probably enough to seat 35 people at least). Most demographic would be elders, mostly men, in their 40's to 60's kicking back and enjoying the hot, lazy afternoon. It was around 3 pm and I just got off a flight. Now, I know how the other half lives and it's nice!

I found the service impolite and dismissive. And the coffee pod, yes a COFFEE POD AT A CAFÉ is outrageous. Well aside from me noticing a bit to late to stop the process I watched her make it and seen the liquid coming out beige at best. I actually thought she was running a cleaning of the machine, because the color just wasn't the color even a blond roast would be. I mentioned it looked light, to which she replied it's not light it's black coffee it's dark. Well I took my sip, left a dollar tip and left the coffee on the counter. With the myriad of cafes in Brooklyn these days, I would have been better with mud from the bodega.

I ordered the Journey to Baku salad, the Turkish bread, and the Guru Khingal. The salad needed a pinch of salt, but there was a shaker on the table and with that addition, it was a decent refreshing appetizer. It's sort of a spread so I would recommend ordering some bread to eat with it. The bread came out steaming hot and smelling amazing. It was soft and fluffy on the inside and delicious. I took the extra home and ate it all immediately when I got there. Delicious bread. The Guru Khingal is honestly one of the best things I've ever eaten in New York City. I wasn't sure exactly what to expect, as I have never eaten this type of food before. The tender, handcut pasta seems to be layered with flavorful lamb fat like the most decadent possible buttered noodles and the ground lamb topping is rich and perfectly seasoned. The yogurt sauce gives the dish balance. It's a fairly large portion that could easily be shared between two. I highly recommend this spot, the glowing reviews are not exaggerating at all. I often like to try new and unusual restaurants, and sometimes I enjoy them mostly for the novelty. That was not the case at Village Cafe. My meal here was delicious and I am eager to return, even with the 75 minute commute from north Brooklyn.

She checked on us multiple times and was just overall very nice. We ordered the Oofte Arberia, small grill plate, afjar condiment, and French fries. Everything was delicious. The French fries, wow. They were so delicious - perfectly crispy and not oily at all. The perfect shape too. I don't even like French fries like that but I couldn't stop eating them. They also have fresh bread that was made in house - that was delicious with the eggplant dip that we ordered (afjar). The grill platters were so delicious. I would recommend the grill platter so you can try different types of meat. But each meat was flavorful and perfectly cooked. We got a house salad with the meat and it was nice and refreshing. I had a really pleasant and delicious experience. I would definitely come again.

Having never tried such delicacies as flija anywhere else before, how could I know if they were being exalted for their own execution or for the dish itself? After trying another interpretation at Arberia, I believe the answer is simply that flija is one of the most delicious savory cakes out there. It's the original Lady M - layers of crepes clearly stacked with copious amounts of butter. I wish the ajvar came with it, but it's worth shelling out a few extra dollars to add a bit of color to the dish.
