BL: Matcha Latte (Iced and Oat Milk) BR: Flat White (strong w/ vanilla) Front: Iced Macchiato (Oat Milk and Vanilla Syrup)

The drinks and baked goods were amazing! I think this is by far some of the best coffee I've had in NYC. I think the drinks has a very good balance of a genuine coffee taste with a great sweetness. The price is pretty reasonable and all the syrups and top shelf baked goods are made fresh (baked goods are made fresh each morning). The matcha is good quality I would definitely suggest stirring more to get out some smaller chunks but a great refined taste. The flat white was a great strong bold coffee taste (a little bitter) but fits my friend taste perfectly as they had asked for it to be made strong. I personally enjoyed the Iced Vanilla Macchiato with oat milk the most as it has a good balance of bold flavors with a hint of sweetness. The Ricotta Raspberry Muffin (there was a nut in there too but I forgot) had good, not over powering sweetness to it. All the ingredients compliment each other well. It was also moist but a little crumbly at the top with real raspberry. I was also able to try the Nutella stuffed banana bread, which tasted great and was very moist. The Nutella gave a great hint of hazelnut to the banana bread. But I personally prefer the ricotta raspberry muffin. The service was definitely the star of the show. The owner was very kind and was open to giving all types of suggestions. The owner is extremely knowledgeable and is a great person in general. I would really hope that if you were to come here to meet him, he is amazing! The ambiance was also amazing. It is quite small, but most cafes are, but this interior is beautiful! Definitely a looker, but on top of that actually good coffee. The place is so clean and has outlets for anyone to use. The tables are pretty close together and there is some "bar side tables" but it was not too busy when I came in (although it deserves to be). Overall my experience was great from the second I stepped in, the owner is amazing, the coffee is amazing, and the baked goods are amazing. I would highly suggest the Ice Vanilla Macchiato with oat milk (or any other milk).

There's a couple of tables in a small store. Above the register there's a menu board resembling a train departures board, cycling through the options (it looks neat, but the printed out menu on your right is a lot more practical). There's a cooler with drinks and salads as you enter on the right. The sandwiches, however, are something special. On my first visit I went with something familiar, the Mean Streets (their Italian sandwich). The bread itself is fantastic (locally baked), and the toppings delicious as well (if I recall correctly the dressings are house made). Pleasantly, they also give you a paper plate with your order, which is a nice touch compared to eating off a wrapper. I enjoyed the first sandwich so much I came back the next day to try the No Sleep Til Gravesend. The sandwich is essentially a hot roast beef sandwich, with a jus on the sandwich reminiscent of a French Dip. Perfect on a cold, rainy day. Overall, 1 of 1 has great (and mostly house made) ingredients and great execution. There's a level of creativity on the menu that you rarely see elsewhere in the city. 1 of 1 is among the best sandwich shops in the city, and a very welcome addition to the area.

Got a TGTG order here. 11/10 I'd do it again…read more Brooklyn DOP actually originated as a pandemic business where my friend's personal trainer started baking pizzas outside of his Greenwood Heights apartment. When the hype got large enough, the owner decided to start a pizzeria and the rest is not history. This is one of the more worthwhile TGTG orders to me. Their pizza is SOOO perfectly crisp and charred, and actually is one of the closest pizzas that reminds me of the famous originals in Napoli.

Expensive though, about $55 dollars for a vegan 18-inch Margherita pie with 3 toppings. Was it worth it for the experience? Yes. Would I recommend to someone who wanted to try it at least once for a good dairy-free pizza? Absolutely, I couldn't even tell this was vegan cheese. Would I get it again? Maybe (?) once in a while as a treat with price being the only barrier. Service 5/5: This was great. I came here the other day to inquire about their vegan pizza and just wanted to try a slice. The person found his manager to talk to me about this. They were super friendly and explained to me the situation. This location only sold vegan options in full pies and their other DOP Fast Life location does sell vegan slices, but they didn't try to push me to buy. I came back today and the staff today were also very welcoming. Ambiance 5/5: Rustic red brick interior with warm lighting. It was definitely bustling on a Friday night. Food 5/5: Delicious pizza. I do regret that I ate it cold after driving 30 minutes to pick it up so I did not get the full experience. But the crust was still crunchy. I do wish the toppings were a little heavier but the tomato chunks in the sauce tasted very fresh. A very classic New York style pizza and I couldn't even tell it wasn't real cheese. Vegan garlic knots were great too.

Konditori, Villager, Bakeri, Hidden Grounds, and now Velvette Brew. First, the space: light, airy and I can imagine with their big windows, a sun soaked place on a sunny day. There are plenty of seats: tables and high top tables. Their menu offers a bit of everything from soup, sandwiches, quiche and pastries. There is a nice option of beverages hot/cold. Today, was a bit damp so I ordered a hot chai with bite size checkerboard cookies to dip. The barista was very pleasant and I found a seat while waiting for my chai. I see a lot of patrons working in laptops, some meeting up to talk and sip and even the barista chatted with a local patron. Love it! My chai was piping hot and absolutely delicious. The chai was frothy, rich, the black tea leaves infused with cinnamon, ginger, cardamom, cloves, sweetener, and milk. I savored every sip and complimented the barista. It is always great to find a new coffee place. I expect to be a loyal local at Velvette Brew. They also host music events and have a collaboration with Cry Baby Ice Cream.
