Refreshing beverage in Pearl Kai Shopping Center, Aiea, O'ahu, Hawai'i... We arrived early for our reservation at the restaurant next door. Instead of waiting outside in the heat and sunshine, I urged my companions to go inside Coffee or Tea? because there was air-conditioning and seats available. The lone employee had to take orders and make drinks. She was very efficient and did as best as she could to keep up. When we were called back to the restaurant next door, she offered to make our drinks later - after we were done with dinner. However, I got permission from the restaurant to let us bring our drinks with us. Thank goodness! We enjoyed our wintermelon tea, cappuccino, and espresso shot. Thanks for accommodating us!

My daughter and I were in the mood for some boba, since this was the closest boba shop, we decided to stop by. When first walking in, it looks a bit bland, nothing special. I do have to say that it is very very clean. No dust on the menu, or the ceiling. It shows the place is taken care of. There was only 1 worker and I felt a bit sorry for her due to the evening rush on a Friday. I wasn't in a hurry, so I didn't mind waiting. We ordered a strawberry smoothie w/ boba and an iced lemon black tea with boba. The flavor was great. The texture of the boba was delicious, wasn't too hard or too soft. This is definitely a place I will continue to visit.

We always come here for the #2 shaved ice! The ice is pretty soft and they put what seems like a brown sugar syrup over it. Then they put grass jelly, tea (or coffee) jelly, custard, and boba. They were out of boba when we went so we added ice cream! Overall it's not too sweet and perfect for sharing between 2-3 people.

Located in the Pearl Kai shopping center, Coffee or Tea offers a wide selection of drinks ranging from bubble tea and shakes to coffee. It's a possible study spot for those looking for a place that opens past 7 pm. Service and Ambiance. It is a casual place with 4-5 small tables that seat 1-3, so it may not fit larger groups. I did spot 1-2 wall outlets. The decoration is pretty simple but gets the job done. There is stable foot traffic, but most are grab-and-go, so I've never had an issue getting a sit-down table for quick work. There was only one worker the last 2 times I've visited, so service can be slow if there are a lot of workers. Price $$: Moderately priced drinks comparable to other coffee/boba shops (~$5-$8 ). There is, however, a minimum purchase of $10 to pay with the card, so either make a group order or have cash. They also have some snacks displayed for sale, but they seem to be a bit overpriced (you can probably get it cheaper at an Asian supermarket/Chinatown) Drinks/Food: Drinks are on the sweeter side, and many drinks can't be adjusted to below 50%, so I've stayed away from most of their pre-sweetened drinks (i.e., winter melon milk tea, honeydew milk tea, etc ). They don't have as many options as other boba places for those with dietary restrictions. Only limited drinks aren't premade to accommodate no-sugar or non-lactose milk options. Boba here is also presweetened in honey/sugar, so no drink can truly be 0% sugar. I've stuck to their original milk tea series (Asam, Jasmine, Oolong) for 0% sugar, and they were all pretty delicious. It's not my best, but it will satisfy my boba tea cravings while getting some work done.

One of my favorite places for a classic Assam Milk Tea with boba. The tea is nice and smooth, subtly sweet and just perfect for my milk tea taste buds. There are some places that have milk teas tasting a little chocolatey IMO, but this place does it right. Their bobas are always soft and chewy and they have a stamp card :)! The lady helping me is super quick, got my drink in less than a minute...so fast haha Can't wait to come back again!

Check in offer doesn't apply to shakes, only for milk tea and tea. 3.5 out of 5 stars Wide selection of drinks. I love how their boba's texture and taste were spot-on. We tried the ube smoothie and the avocado smoothie. The fresh taro was good, full of flavor, and it's nice to know they had fresh taro and not just the artificial ube drink. But the avocado smoothie was pretty weak. When I received it in my hand, I looked at the color and already knew it would taste weak - there wasn't enough green in it, almost like a milky greenish color in the cup. I took a sip and confirmed it. There was a lot of milk or cream flavor more than avocado. Even though they used fresh avocado, there wasn't enough. The price was your average boba price. $7 for a medium and $8 for a large (their jumbo), but they do have an XL. The lady was friendly and the store was spacious and clean. It's mostly empty space with only a few tables by the wall so the shop probably expected people to just order takeout.

Consistent milk tea and boba texture. You will get the same drink every time you visit and that's what I love about this place. I like the oolong milk tea or jasmine green milk tea, you can taste the tea. It comes out to $6 something for a jumbo size with boba. They also have an option to get a gallon of boba and milk tea, great for parties!

The fact that my son and I were given so called cheesecake bobas when in reality it was warm, not blended because they do not have a blender, they just use a shaker. It taste like a strawberry protein shake and the boba was gummy compared to normal.When I expressed how it tasted they didn't want to make it again or give a refund .Considering that I live in ewa beach where there is boba cafe,taste tea, and tea espresso you know what a well shook boba tea would taste like. This was trash and they wouldn't bother correcting it. Rude and a tad ghetto

We like this boba place. I still love their Watermelon Juice with boba when in season and the Honey Lemon Green Tea is a fav too. It's conveniently located in Pearl Kai Shopping Center. Nice workers. Today we tried the Grande Oreo Shake and Grande Ube Shake. The Oreo Shake was a new fav! Sort of reminds me of my Mocha Java Frappuccino from Starbucks. My Ube Shake had creamy Ube Icecream so a bit heavier but still a delicious dessert drink. Glad I got a Grande. I could only drink half and saved the rest.

Coffee Or Tea is my favorite bubble tea shop. The Pearl Kai location offers the same menu as the original location in McCully Shopping Center. You can't go wrong with anything, especially the milk tea. I always get the lychee calpico smoothie with tapioca. It tastes like sweet lychee and the tapioca has a great consistency. The shave ice is also delicious. PROS: The store is always super clean. There are tables inside where you can enjoy your food and company. They also have a shelf with snacks for sale if you want more than just a drink. CONS: Cash only. Parking can be difficult to find during peak hours such as dinner time. TIPS: 10% your purchase when you check in on Yelp! read more

Came in 30 minutes before closing. No one else around aside from a group of teens hanging around outside. Ordered 1 large black milk tea with boba. Service was quick and the cashier was nice. Took a picture with the large boba cut out near the back. There are pillars that double as trash cans-- which I found pretty interesting. I didn't care much for the milk tea. Could be how they cook the boba. Could also be that I didn't order the right thing. Not sure if I'll return.. But if I do I'll update my review accordingly. read more

I was in need of a caffeine pick me upper so my boyfriend and I found this place on Yelp. The minute we walked through the door, we were greeted by two nice ladies at the counter. Because it was our first time here, they helped answer any questions we had about their menu. They have a variety of coffee, tea, and milk teas to choose from. I ended up ordering the special iced coffee with coffee jelly. It was good but a little on the sweet side for me. I typically like my coffee on the bitter side. I was also able to check in on yelp and get 10% off my drink. Overall, this is a good coffee & boba spot with friendly service. I'll be sure to come back and try their boba teas. read more

Dont bother! I'm sure there are other places that you can get just as good quality sugary drinks but won't get kicked out bc you didn't order something for each person in your party. We came and ordered two drinks for the two adults who wanted some (2 of 5). That took forever because the person did not understand English (no English in Hawaii?????). We had two kids so we brought milk in that we purchased from 7 eleven next door. The place was pretty much empty except for two tables of couples on their laptops. We sat down at the big table in the back as we had the kids drink milk. About one minute later the waitress came to us and showed us a card saying we have to go unless we order more food from them. Each person had to order a dish or drink if you wanted to sit. We had just come from dinner so some of us did not want dessert. So they kicked us out. Again don't bother. read more

I got the winter melon milk tea with boba. The boba I would give 5/5 stars but the milk tea only 3/5 mainly because it was too sweet for me and didn't felt like it was enough wintermelon taste. Also they almost gave my drink to someone else, maybe they should write names or call out the name of the drink or something. read more

Love this place! The teas taste good, an even amount of flavor and sweetness. And the tapiocas are sweet, never hard. It's not over saturated with sugar, but I do taste the tea. Only thing it's cash only. read more

This place is legit! They use real brewed tea and coffee for their boba, and make a very pleasant almond tea boba drink to boot. I've had the majority of their boba menu and everything that I've tried have so far been really good! Popped in tonight and got a Thai tea boba with extra Thai fat because I can go to the gym to work it off (bad reason for getting extra anything but whatever). Only thing I can really complain about is that they only take cash and the store is a lot of times unusually frigid. read more

They're pretty cheap compared to other places, and their kiwi smoothie is probably the best smoothie I have had on the island(very sweet). the environment is very nice (and so are the employees)and the establishment very, VERY clean. 5/5 no regrets. Wish I could put no stars. After complaining about them charging me for boba and not putting any in my drink, they put boba in it along with a shard of glass. This was really dangerous and had I not found it I would've swallowed it. If it weren't for traffic I'd go back right now and get my money back. Really upset Bc this used to be my favorite boba place. read more

Pros Easy to find Drinks we tried were good (winter melon and strawberry) Fast service Cons REALLY BIG CON - they don't have a restroom to use. You need a key to use the public restroom which is located across the parking lot. Aside from its distant location, the bathroom is FILTHY! And Smells VERY bad! Staff not friendly. We weren't greeted when we walked in and they didn't ask if we needed help/samples of items on the menu. Wifi wasn't working Go to TEA TIME on Kaahumanu instead. They have a clean restroom, wifi that works, and offer samples if you're not sure of what you want. I took off another star. Came in for a drink cause I was close by. I ordered my drink not realizing that they only take cash! I didn't have any cash on me and they pointed me to the mini mart across the mall to get cash. Really??? Who takes cash only?? It's 2015!!! I would expect cash only from maybe a food truck, but these days, even food trucks take debit/credit card! I left and didn't get anything. read more

Yay for Coffee or Tea being open on Christmas Day!! We were able to place an order in advance for their advertised 2 gallon party pack! woo hoo! We had a milk tea party for Christmas with 2 gallons of regular milk tea, a container of boba, a container of coffee jelly & a complimentary custard from the Facebook promo with cups, lids & straws included. It was a great time & my family enjoyed being able to customize their milk teas. My favorite was the coffee jelly while everyone else including the kids went for the boba. read more

Can't believe how they cheat people when using a gift certificate. You can only buy $10 or more but if you don't use the full dollar amount on the certificate you will not get your remaining balance back. What a rip off. Will never return to this place. They need to take lessons from taste tea or get with the program and stop ripping off people. read more

First time here and first time trying a milk tea drink. I got the caramel milk tea. It was pretty good. Forgot to ask about the discount from the check in. I was there around 9 am it was pretty empty with lots of places to sit. They had 2 outlets to use. I'm assuming a lot of people come here to study but it can get very loud when they start making drinks with the blender. Me and my friends tried using the WiFi but it wouldn't let us on. And after an hour kicked my friend off. Don't know what's up with that. There was only one person working, strong accent and took a while for me to understand what she was saying. But she was very nice. read more

CASH. Bring CASH. I had to start by saying that because I never have cash on me. I came here after grabbing some Italiano next door. I ordered just a Espresso it was good. A friend of mine swears by their boba here. I'm not the biggest boba fan. Something about squishy balls in my mouth just doesn't feel right. I did try a sip and the flavor is good. I'm just glad I didn't suck a ball into my mouth. If I would try it I would get just the milk/tea next time. I would love to try it minus the boba. read more

Pretty excited that this place is branching out throughout Hawaii! Originally situated in McCully Shopping center and probably the best place for Boba Milk Tea IMO. Also, to give your boba a kick, add some egg pudding to it! Trust me, you won't be disappointed....UNLESS the ran out of the pudding! haha. read more

This place is awesome! Don't usually like bubble drinks or milk tea, but this place changed my mind. First, I ordered the mango iced tea with no bubbles. It was the best I've had, not too sweet and you could actually taste the mango, unlike others I've tried. The lady who made the drink actually brought it to the table, which was really sweet, along with some samples of the milk tea with bubbles. After trying it, I had to come back and get a regular sized one! It was so good, the bubbles had a good, chewy texture and the tea had a pleasant flavor. Although, the prices run about $4 for most drinks, you're paying for the quality. Which is amazing. Def coming back here :) read more

You know this is my go to place for late night boba. I will drive all the way from Ewa Beach when I have a late night craving because they make some of the best milk tea with custard!! Some of my favorite drinks include the hazelnut milk tea and the taro milk tea. Definitely check this place out, it's worth the crazy parking lot! read more

I stopped in to this business today to check it out. It was a great experience. Bring CASH. I, as well as many others, learned the hard way! I ordered a caffeine-free concoction of papaya milk tea. It was AMAZING. After I finished my small version, I went back and ordered the bigger size to take home. The two ladies were very friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful! Best on island but sometimes service can be slow. Super excited to find out they give you a 10% discount when you checkin and it's good for a 4 hour window. Just remember that if you come with a friend to get rung up separately because they only give you 10% off one item per transaction. Also don't forget that they only take cash. I wish they would just get a square reader. They even have those at farmers markets now a days to make it easier. read more

Amazing coffee, boba drinks, and smoothie style drinks! Great consistency, well blended, spot on taste, just the right amount of sweetness, and boba boba boba. Great customer service, clean place, plenty of seating, helpful staff. Only gripe? They only take cash! What? Why? Are you serious? It's 2017!! We've got phones with NFC, applypay, Google wallet, come on guys, just pay the credit card monthly fee, i guarantee it will boost your customer base, improve business, and make you more money in the long run! read more

Chelsea wears many hats as the greeter, server, barista and overall front of house manager. It can be extremely busy, but Chelsea hustles and does her absolute best. So bring your appetite and a dose of patience. Online ordering is a great option. On your initial visit it may be difficult to find, but the discovery is well worth the hunt. tried this place today. hoping to get another usual spot in the area. this place is a little pricey for 2 grande size drinks ends up around $9.00.we were standing by the cashier for 5mins waiting for someone to come over and order our drinks for us. there werent that many customers in store as well. finally got our drinks. on the other side. they make fast drinks too. since there isnt much to shake like the other tea place in the area. they pre-make all the drinks. all they need to do is just pour the drinks into the cups. in my drink notice there were some black tiny things on the bottom of my drink. i ordered a winter melon milk tea. barely tasted any winter melon only has milk tea taste. the sugar wasnt even mixed evenly. there were a ring of sugar on the bottom of my drink. which is kinda gross. didnt even finish my drink and tossed it away. it was kinda a waste. dont think ill be back. i rather go to tea time than coffee or tea. read more

Coming around 2:30 pm today, they was super busy, the line is crazy long, and only three people working today. We have party of 4, and my friend don't wanna wait on the line because he think will take half hour to get the boba tea! But, guess what?
