First off, I believe that yelp needs to get the company's name correct with the "?" because I've uploaded my photo to the wrong place in McCully. This review is for the Pearl Kai Shopping Center location. A friend and I decided to come here after finishing a movie. I was amazed to see a vast selection of different coffee and teas. Not only do they have a huge menu on their walls they have a huge take out menu which looks like a display board for high school projects. These workers are a delight because if you are waiting for your drink at one of their tables, they remember your drink order and deliver your drink to you. Wonderful service. I decided to get their Thai Coffee and it was wonderful, somehow I wish that the coffee was a tad bit stronger. You could also customize your drink by changing the sweetness level (I tend not to add any sweetness because it just deprives the taste of the original flavor or the coffee and tea, if you are a real tea drinker--you know what I mean). My friend and I also shared a chocolate parfait in which kind of resembled a tiramisu but all chocolate and a light pudding texture that tasted like mousse. I can't believe I wrote such a short review for coffee or tea. Shame on me! Coffee or Tea was one of the few milktea place about 16 years. Today there's many milktea joints but Coffee or Tea is one the best milktea place in Hawaii. My usual here is the jasmine green milktea with half sugar. That means half green tea & half milk tea so I feel better about drinking milktea often. Coffee or tea has the best soft Boba but I usually skip on that. Their milktea is smooth & flavorful. My children loves their green tea shake and mango smoothie. If you like mango smoothie on slushy side you can ask for no milk. We've also tried their peach, grape, lychee, lemon smoothies as well. As for service, they are awesome. Staff here work hard and keep this place neat & clean. The atmosphere here is modern and classy. It's a nice place to chat with your friends or do some quiet work. Coffee or Tea is a go to for Milk Tea. They make a better milk tea than most, I've even bought a gallon to take home to get my fix. If you are not going to drink it right away, don't get boba or ice and it will keep in the fridge for later. My other go to is their Honey Green Tea Crushed Ice Drinks--think slushy--which come in flavors like Plum, Lychee, and Mango. Coffee or Tea has always been one of my top milk tea places and has been great with helping us get through our milk tea cravings during this whole pandemic. They are located in Pearl Kai Shopping Center with easy parking access. You'll normally find a mini crowd, but don't worry as the staff works efficiently and makes everyone's orders quickly. For anyone who hasn't tried Coffee or Tea, both their milk tea and smoothies are great but I always go for the regular or honeydew milk tea starting at $4.25! Depending on the mood, I'll choose boba or custard for my toppings. They have a variety of drinks and are always adding more curations so there's always something for everyone :) read more

I was craving a boba drink and hubby found this place. I was eager to try it out. I ordered a large mango green iced tea with boba and it cost me $7.00 and some change. It only took a few minutes before my drink came out. I took a sip of it and the flavor of the tea was off. The boba was good and soft but the mango green iced tea didn't taste right. First of all, I couldn't taste the mango. It was bitter and sour. The green tea flavor wasn't there. I was highly disappointed in my tea but happy with the boba. I ended up drinking all of the tea because I did pay almost $8.00 for a large. I should have gotten a small. Oh well! I know not to order that flavor. I walked out disappointed. The inside was clean and there were tables around. It was a small area and it was cute! The ladies working here were nice. Parking is up front and you can only park for an hour as signs are posted. I like coffee or tea! There is several locations that I did not know about. This one is located in Pearl Kai, across from downtown Pearlridge mall. Same shopping center at Kuru Kuru. There is plenty of parking on the side and in front. They have coffee and milk tea. The coffee is pretty strong here, it actually keeps me up all night compared to other coffee places. I mostly come here for the milk tea tho! They don't have my usual lychee jellies but I still enjoy a cup of plain milk tea. They have boba and other jelly! I'm not sure if they adjust sweetness, but I'm sure they can. They didn't ask me when I ordered my black milk tea, but the sweetness level was perfect! read more

Preferred the smoothie in terms of flavor--ginger milk tea was okay, but ultimate preference is the matcha milk tea that I've had in the past. I went here all the time when I lived in Hawaii, best boba and milk tea!! However, I gave 4 stars because they use plastic lids to cover the cups, and usually my drink spills a little in my car. It would be nice if they upgraded and got one of those sealing machines like most boba places have. I was craving dessert after my dinner in the same mall and found this place on help open till 10:30. I walked in 10:10 and waited a couple min because cash register needed a change of paper. Then I proceeded to put my order in, which was the shaved ice with coffee Jello and coffee ice cream on top. A girl working at the register asked me for here or to go, so I said for here. Then she said "well we are closing in 15min.". So if you don't want me to stay here and eat or drink anything before closing, why would you ask me in the first place? So I was semi forced to order to go, waited for my order for 5min, then started eating inside. 5 min later at 10:25, they came around the tables and told everyone that they were closing and we got kicked out. The shaved ice was fine but I wasn't really happy with the way they handle the whole closing time. I love a classic milk tea with boba, and this did not disappoint. We also got a peach iced tea with pearls and that was delicious as well. I wish they had more syrup flavors. They only had three flavors. The ice cream was very good, but it was a little weird to eat chocolate ice cream with the rest of the flavors. The portion was huge. Coffee or Tea is located in the Pearl Kai Shopping Center, towards Powerhouse. I like this place because I noticed they use fresh fruit in their drinks, which is a plus for me. I like both fresh and fake lol, but fresh trumps fake all the time for me. I didn't have a drink though lol, I got the rainbow shave-ice with vanilla ice cream. I don't know what it is about vanilla ice-cream and rainbow shave-ice, but it's always so good. I especially like that their shave-ice is powdery fine. The ice-cream is on top rather than on the bottom, which was a change for me and honestly, I liked it better that way, instead of working your way through the shave-ice, to get to the ice-cream, you get a bite of ice-cream all the time, when you want. They have different milk teas, fruit teas, and coffee offerings to choose from. They are pretty pricey for their "grande" which is pretty much their small. You can get a jumbo or super jumbo if your thirsty enough. I come here for their milk tea. I've tried a few flavors and prefer their Winter melon Milk Tea or Almond Milk Tea. It's a decent place to go, very clean and quiet. They have some dessert items also to go with your drink. If you want something simple but good, you're in the right spot. read more

At 21.1 miles from where I live in Mililani Mauka (42.2 miles round-trip!!), it's more like a journey for me than a drive!! This place is set up almost the exact mirror image of the McCully location, with the exception of having no outdoor seating. Inside barely seats 22 people at the absolute most, and it always seems to be crowded in the evening. Hmmm... What to get? Now, that's a really good question because they pretty much have every tea and coffee drink known to man!! Okay, maybe that's a little bit of an over exaggeration, but there are a lot of choices here!! I normally opt out for my personal favorite... Green Tea Shake with Tapioca Pearls. There's something about the matcha flavor that is quite addicting to me. Now, this doesn't come with a few setbacks... And it's mainly PARKING!! I've said it many times already that PARKING HERE SUCKS!! Sometimes I have to wait more than 10 minutes for a parking spot to open up... But it's because they share a parking lot with a bunch of really good restaurants, and all the fitness freaks trying to get their workout on at Powerhouse Gym. They do have an overflow parking lot just behind Liquid Metal Tattoo & Piercing on Lipoa Place, if you don't feel like waiting. Looking at the menu, there were lots of compliments on their custard milk tea, so I dragged my bf here after eating dinner for some yumminess. As soon as you walk in, the cashier is on the immediate right. Im not sure why the owners thought that was a good idea, since the door gets blocked when customers are ordering, but ok. There is a variety of goodies here. There are coffees, teas, milk teas, shave ice, cheesecakes, cream rolls and shakes on the menu. All are customizable with add-ons of azuki beans, condensed milk, tapiocas, ice creams, custards and various fruits. I got a shave ice combo of condensed milk, custard, ice cream and strawberry. When I chose strawberry, I thought I was going to get real strawberries. Just a heads up, it's strawberry PRESERVES. I didn't like it that much. The combo of strawberry jelly and shave ice was kind of weird. The rest of the shave ice toppings went together awesome though. The custard was okay. I am a big Ice Garden custard fan and spoiled by their awesome custard, so the custard here was okay, but not awesome. My boyfriend got the ginger milk tea. He said it was really good. I don't like ginger so I did not try it. He mentioned that it would probably be good for people who are having stomach problems since ginger soothes tummy aches. The prices weren't that bad. The shave ice was about $6 and you can choose up to six toppings. The milk tea was under $4. There is a tip jar by the cash register. If you choose to dine in there is a 15% surcharge for table service. Free Wifi is also available. This place is a good alternative when Ice Garden is closed and you want some shave ice with custard. Known for its consistent and creamy milk teas, this establishment did not falter on its quality when they opened up their second store. The bubble tea and service is exactly like the one in McCully: tasty, good quality, consistent, quick service. Best off all, this store does not have its 1 purchase per person policy, which has often upset people who go to the McCully shop. CoT is cash only! So be sure to withdraw money before arriving. If you check in on the Yelp app, there is a 10% discount on your purchase. Parking can be found in the Pearl Kai shopping center. You may have to circle around a few times, but a spot always opens up. Overall, a nice addition to the Westside and a worthy competitor in the bubble tea market. read more

Coffee or Tea has a very inviting vibe. The place is well lit, everything looks organized, and clean, there's ample amounts of seating for patrons. Parking isn't too bad to find or at least wasn't for us each trip we've made. The staff are really friendly, helpful, and patient (especially when you're unsure what to order when staring at their vast offerings of goodness). My dad loves this place and makes a stop quite frequently. I've grown to love it too. I've come to prefer it over some of the other Tea places in the area. Plus you don't have to drive to town for your Boba fix. Just head near Pearlridge! Great place to stop by if you're already shopping in the area. There's lots to choose from. Obviously they have coffee and tea. But then there's bubble/boba tea/drinks, shakes, shaved ice, fresh fruit, and I'm sure other things I've overlooked. My past two visits I had the Hazelnut Milk Tea and then the Pudding Milk Tea. I'm open to trying other things they offer but those will likely be my go to choices.
