My fiance loves Coffee or Tea. When we found out that the newest location opened close to home, we were ecstatic. The location in Waipio is roght after Pearl Hawaii FCU. I don't think many businesses are there yet. Just like the other locations, they do NOT accept credit cards. It is still cash only. The good thing is all the great beverages of teas, coffee, smoothies and milk tea are all available. The taste was consistent to the Mccully location. The baristas were pretty fast. There were only 2 with a line of 5 customers. They were able to take the orders and make the drinks without skipping a beat. Need a place to study? This place has free wifi! Overall, it was the usual visit I would expect at any Coffee or Tea location. Consistent quality of taste and service. There is ample parking. The only downfall is it is cash only. read more

Wow! Can't believe Waipio scored a Coffee or Tea? I'm actually not a big milk tea fan but I know several people who consider this place the best on the island. I normally get their watermelon juice when in season. It's so refreshing and their boba is very good too! Today I needed a pick me up so tried the mocha frappe ($6 with boba). It was soooo delicious but also probably a ton of calories (thought I saw him put two scoops of ice cream in the cup!). Coffee or Tea is located in the new Crossroads at Waipio center. It's located kiddie corner from 7-11 in Waipio. Rigg now no other businesses are open so the parking is open and available. Not sure how it'll be once more businesses open. Only walking distance from work and I am so happy they are here! I used to drive all the way to McCully before they opened in Pearl Kai, then I'd drive to Pearl Kai, and now they are even closer AND parking is soooo sooo good right now because they are one of the first stores to open in this commercial building! I've had the brown auger milk tea and the taro smoothie here. They were both very good but I have a couple problems and reasons why I will not be back. 1. On the menu board next to the taro smoothie it says fresh. When I see the word fresh you are saying your using fresh and real taro but they are using taro powder. That is not "fresh". 2. My biggest pet peeve is when a company feels they can dictate a minimum amount for using a credit/debt card. By doing this your basically forcing most people to buy more then they may not want to. Review on Tiger Sugar Milk Tea At first I was expecting it to taste like the Brown Sugar Boba from Teapresso, but it is not that. It just taste like Milk Tea with Sugar Syrup Walls. At the bottom there is a layer of the syrup so I would recommend mixing it before drinking it throughly to fully enjoy your drink. With the amount of sugar syrup on the walls you'd expect it to be really sweet, but it's subtle! You can't adjust the sugar level here but the amount isn't too much or too little it's just right . When I walked in, I was greeted by both employees and was told to ask any questions I had. There was many drinks to choose from, and was debating of what to get one of the employees name, some other popular drinks which help me, narrow it down I place order for Ube milk, tea Boba, which I was skeptical about trying, since I always stick to some sort of tiger milk, tea. They took my order and it was out within five minutes. First thing I noticed was I could not see my drink! Instead of the plastic cups, they had eco-friendly cups, which you cannot see the inside, which was a bummer for my picture, but I'm all for making better decisions for our planet. So I just had to take my first sip without knowing what it look like lol but to my surprise it was better than I expected. The Boba was fresh. The sweetness level was to my satisfaction, which usually I have to add extra sweetener. I wouldn't say it was too sweet. I just think it was perfect. Like many others, I wish I could choose zero stars. I've been to this place a handful of times, typically with my friends when we stop by on our weekly walks together (pre-COVID). The staff was always friendly and would patiently answer my questions about the drinks as I'm not a huge milk tea drinker and don't frequent many milk tea places. Fast forward several weeks ago. I asked some questions about some drinks that I had never tried to an older gentleman who looked like the manager or owner (balding with glasses and an accent). He gave me an irritated look and impatiently answered my questions. He wore a mask (as we all now have to do in this COVID era) but I could see his eyes rolling and the tone of his voice was rude. As I waiting for my drinks, I stood there trying to process his rude demeanor and eventually shrugged it off and left with my drinks. Hmm, maybe he had a bad day I thought to myself. Given by some of these other reviews, it seems "bad days" are common for people who work here. I went back again today and the same older gentleman was working there. He wasn't taking orders this time, but instead was making drinks. As I watched another guy make my 4 drinks (3 were the same type), I noticed that regular milk was being used for the 3 and that I forgot to order them with soy milk. The three of us who were going to drink them are lactose intolerant so we cannot drink milk. I told the older gentleman, who was closer to me in distance, that I made a mistake and asked if I could get them with soy instead. He looked at me with that same irritated look like the last time and said it's already being made and all three are being made together. He didn't offer to remake them on the spot, so I ended up saying I'll pay for another set of three drinks with soy milk. So in total, I paid $45 to have 4 drinks made!! In the end, he gave me the correct drinks AND the ones with the milk that I initially ordered. I gave him a confused look like why are you also giving me the wrong ones? He told me it's because I paid for them so he's obligated to give them to me. I was thinking, what the hell am I going to do with 3 extra drinks that my family can't drink?! I left with 7 drinks for 4 people *insert face palm*. I could have said screw it and refuse to pay for another set of drinks, but when your kids are begging you to get a drink because they worked hard in the yard to help their elderly grandparents, I couldn't refuse. Granted, it was my mistake for forgetting the soy request, but because of the lack of flexibility, compassion, and RUDE behavior of this worker, I am never going to patronize this place again. And in reading some of the other reviews, it looks like refusing to remake drinks or having a rude attitude towards customers who make mistakes is common practice. I hope this worker is perfect in ordering things when he is a customer at any given place, and never makes mistakes because he doesn't deserve the flexibility and compassion that he should be giving his patrons!! I like them fresh, small, soft yet chewy, and that's just the texture....don't even get me started on how they should taste. And it's a shame that I will never know how Coffee or Tea's Boba tastes. I simply asked for one tapioca, just one teeny tiny ball...but nope: they wouldn't give me one. So instead I opted for 2 shave ice, lychee smoothie without boba, and thick butter and strawberry toast. Been here a couple of times. Even though I'm a huge boba lover, I don't come here often. The tea is good, pretty standard milk tea. I like that it's consistent. Not like some places where one day it's too sweet and others not so much. The texture of their boba is perfect. And the prices are pretty fair. I should visit this place more often but it's just not within my comfort zone. I live in mililani which is kind of close by. I go to costco about 3-4x a month but still I just don't come to this location enough. I highly recommend this place because the service, their boba/snacks, atmosphere are all on point for a hipster boba lover. Always my go-to for milk tea. I LOVE their milk tea. To some they may say it's powdery, but I love it. My favorite is the honey dew milk tea and I like to put pudding and tapioca balls. The only thing about this place is I think you can adjust the sweetness if you ask, if not they just do standard sweetness. Unlike other boba places that let you choose. The pudding as well is quite chunky when trying to drink your drink. Sometimes you want an equal parts of drink and pudding but usually I have leftover pudding. My friends and I love coming here to hang out but sometimes find it difficult talking over the blenders. This location is awesome. This is one of the most awesome news Waipahu ever had in a while! The famous Coffee or Tea? originally located in McCully, has now opened a new location at the Crossroads in Waipio. It's at the corner of Ka Uka Boulevard and Ukee Streets. Right down the street from Costco Waipio and Zippy's. Opening this location in Waipio is great, especially for those living in the Westside. Rather than driving to the Pearl Kai location and barely surviving the traffic caused by the rail, people can just come and get their milk tea boba fix. But the only downside I can see is that the parking will be tough. Especially when they open the other stores in this building. read more

Coffee or Tea is my absolute favorite place for boba tea. I usually get the coconut milk tea with boba or the passion fruit black tea with boba. Their boba is always soft and chewy, unlike some other places where the boba is too hard. They also have desserts here which look delicious but I have yet to try them. There's seating with tables to chill or work on while you enjoy your treat. I have tried so many other tea places but Coffee or Tea is still my favorite.
