Cute little spot next door to foodland. Decided to stop here after eating at Maili's Chinese. I just wanted a simple strawberry shave ice with ice cream. Now that bowl was way too big for me, but its okay. The syrup was very sweet and im sure others would love that. Im not a sweets person, but it was good. Now their soft serve ice cream was delicious. I wish I was brave enough to try all those other sweet treats they offer. They also sell blind boxes and have a few tables outside for seating.
Update review as they moved... No longer located in Hawaii Kai as they moved to Mililani Shopping Center (the one with Ross and Foodland) since May 2025 and yes including the fun phone booth as well. What they also have is "Kawaii Kollective" a section filled with various cute items including Pop Mart items. You can find them right beside Foodland just look for the pink walls that's so easy to find. Though what we're all here for is their cool treats like Ice Waves their version of shave ice as it's layers of fresh fruits, cheesecake, and soft serve making it a royal cup of goodness though they also have Sundaes, Soft Serve, simple shave ice or what I usually get is their float. Their float is a bit slushy that will certainly give you brain freeze as it's their shave ice with the soda of your choice (Strawberry Soda for me) topped with soft serve has me lost in Ice Wave happiness. Thank you!
Let's indulge in a sweet creation on a humid day! Strawberry Mango Ice Wave photo on the menu looked appealing. I'm not thrilled that my large dessert didn't look like the photo. No heaping top. Employee offered a plastic cover. However, I declined stating that I will eat here. The strawberries and mangoes were competing for taste where tartness slowly replaced sweetness. Sweetened condensed milk and soft serve ice cream didn't subdue the tart. I've tried the Mango Cheesecake at prior location in Kalihi-Kapālama area and the ice wave was amazing! I'm aware, next time, go for Mango Cheesecake or Strawberry Cheesecake, it doesn't vie for flavor. Ice wave took a while to melt as I consumed half of it in the shop and the rest at home. There's only one employee to make desserts. If there's a few people in line, be prepared to wait. Telephone booth offers photo ops. Feel free to check out their Labubu merchandise in the shop (not pictured). Free parking in the Mililani Shopping Center. Methods of payments accepted are cash and cards. Halo Halo, soft serve and sundaes look fabulous! I wonder if it's yummy as advertised in the photos.
Visited twice @ this Mililani location and you still need to pay by cash only. I really miss the business that was here before. To me it's a bit pricy for soft serve. To be able to use a credit card to bump up my miles, I would honestly go a couple doors down to RC or drive to McD just down the block.

The Strawberry Mango Ice Wave had fresh sliced strawberries and mangos on it and had sorbet or something underneath. I was expecting shave ice or traditional bingsu (like in the name "Ice Wave") but oddly the main ingredient seems to be sorbet to me and seems to be omitted in their menu descriptions. Additionally, the prices for the Ice Waves for the 2 sizes were also omitted from their menu poster at the register although all the other items had prices. The Chocolate Overload Sundae had regular ice cream with drizzle, crushed Oreo and cocoa pebbles. I liked that crunchy texture and love chocolate. However, this dessert was too sweet for me but it still tasted good so I ate it all. The 2 guys working the shop were ok but not welcoming or helpful with suggestions when ordering. The shop's pink interior is Kawaii ("cute") with all the Japanese nicknacks(collectibles) for sale. The full size telephone booth (less telephone) is pretty cool and I think it's to take photos in. They accept credit card transactions now not just cash. On the fence if I'll return.

There are several varieties of soft serve available, and I got ube/vanilla swirl. It comes with one topping free so I opted for oreo. It's cookie dust, which can be messy, but is a nice change from cookie chunks elsewhere. The shave ice menu is kept behind the counter, so you have to ask to see the flavors. You can get up to 3 flavors. The rainbow is blue vanilla, banana, and strawberry, but the staff kindly swapped in pineapple for my kiddo. Consistency might be a bit off. My soft serve was smaller than photographs and those made for other customers, and had some gaps in the middle. If I'm going to spend more than $6 for a treat, maybe I'll go with a better value item with more components for just a little more money. Cash or venmo only - no cards accepted currently. Tons of parking in the lot. Some seating indoors and outdoors.
Gotta try this place out!! We tried this new place Kawaii Ice Wave in Mililani. Inside It's such a cute shop with all kind of blind box from labubu to Winnie pooh. We all tried the Ice Wave it was so yummy the the person who help us forgot to get her name was so friendly and helpful. As a family that loves mango we got all different kind of mango wave. Mango cheesecake, Mango & Lychee, Mango with fruity pebbles and last is all mango. And it was delicious . It's the bomb.

The chairs were dirty despite the cleaning supplies. Floors were filthy for someplace that just opened. We got a rainbow shaved ice and it was $7.25, not worth it in my opinion. Only the top layer had syrup and the entire middle was just ice. They only had some Sonny Angels for sale but not much of a selection. No Labubus.

As long as I've lived in Mililani, I never even knew this spot existed -- Yelp really came through showing me where this little gem was hiding. I got the Strawberry with added coffee and omg... I didn't even know where to start eating this beauty. Cold, creamy, refreshing, and just pretty to look at. My son and mister enjoyed their cheesecake. I ordered the shave ice with vanilla soft serve and boy was it SWEET!!! They carry cute kawaii toys. Everything about this shop is cute! Hence, the name of their business. Workers are super friendly, they were patient waiting for me to decide having so many choices. Service was fast. Paid almost $30 for our 3 items. read more

Great treat on a hot day. The combos of fruit, snow, and ice cream are delicious. Service is attentive but slow when it gets busy because each one is made as orders come in. Only drawbacks is that it's quite pricey. Makes sense given the fresh fruit but still. read more

Had no idea that Kawaii Ice had replaced the old Snowberry shop. I'm so happy I found this place in Mililani right next to Foodland. You can't miss it because the outside of the shop is pink! When you enter they have a cute little backdrop of a telephone booth that you can take photos with. The place is small, but it's perfect. They are currently only taking cash or Venmo. They offer a variety of desserts: from halo halos, soft served, milkshakes, shave ice, and floats. They are known for their Ice Waves. I tried the strawberry cheesecake ice wave and it did not disappoint! It was delicious! I loved the "milky" soft ice mixed with a layer of soft serve and topped with strawberries, cheesecake bites , and condensed milk. I also tried the Oreo ice wave and the strawberry cheesecake with Oreo topping. All were very good! Can't wait to go back and try everything else! Try it! You won't be disappointed! read more

A small little shop in the back of Hawaii Kai Shopping Centre decorated all pink with wall signage and an old telephone booth for all the influencer foodie pics your heart desires. When we went there was a family of 4 waiting for their order. As there was only one employee working, it took about 15 minutes for them to get their order and another 15 for us to get our order. The shave ices themselves are decent. Ice is nice and fluffy and flavors are good, but nothing mind blowing. A little pricey imo, but you're paying for the visuals as opposed to the taste in reality. The most ridiculous thing is that they charge $0.50 for an extra spoon! I know times are tough right now, but seriously? Charging for an extra utensil when you know these are made to be shared? I'll stick to the traditional shave ice places from now on. These trendy influencer style places just aren't for me. read more

The cutest, prettiest store ever lol my wife's favorite dessert spot. Her favorite is the orange dreamsicle, and mines is the ube sundae, or oreo ice wave. Kawaii ice wave is located in the same shopping plaza as McDonald's, Safeway, and Longs in Hawaii Kai. It's located in the back of Longs, towards Repettis, and F45? We used to live in Kalihi and go to that location as well. The desserts are so yummy. So many to choose from. Even the kalihi store was pretty. They had a shoe display, and a cute little photo opp spot. This Hawaii Kai location also has cute photo opp spot with the grassy backdrop, and a cute phone booth like from back in the day, with 'treat yo' self' neon light as background, with pink walls everywhere, and little cute things for sale!!! Like jelly sticks, and even a cute little toy size Nutella bottle/sriracha... noms... cute mini toy size tic tacs. omg everything about this store is cute and pink. And the ladies there, always nice, never rude. No complaints. But the desserts??!! You gotta try. Hit the spot after a delicious meal, or just to satisfy your sweet cravings/ sweet tooth. 10/10 recommend. Go check em out! read more

It's been almost a year since Kawaii Ice Wave has opened in Hawaii Kai and this is still our go to spot after dinner to get dessert. The ice waves are so good. Most recently I tried the large strawberry and lychee ice wave. The large is big enough for two. Service is always good even though it can get busy. Happen to stumble upon this place after we did our little excursion at H20 Sports. I'm so glad I did. I had the halo halo and my husband had their shaved ice. It was both very refreshing. I'm from CT and there really isn't many Filipino places around and my kids don't like halo halo. So, I never make it. So this right here was a very special treat for me. I was as large enough for me to satisfy my craving I didn't want to share it at all. The place is very small but very cute inside and the lady that served us was by herself and very friendly and patient with us. My husband was trying to figure out if he wanted halo halo or the shaved ice. I can't exactly remember what he got since I'm posting this two month after we had gone to Hawaii. I definitely recommend this place and hopefully it is still here when we come back to visit. I definitely will come back. read more

Kawaii Ice Waves is a cute dessert spot with a new second location, now here in Hawaii Kai. They offer indulgent frozen treats. Small but great vibe inside, lots of photo op nooks. The girl working solo was friendly and made recommendations since it was our first time and we were unsure of how to build the creations we wanted. I'm still thinking of how dreamy the Uber soft serve was. Highlights: Ube Cheesecake Sundae $8.00 Ube Vanilla Swirl with condensed milk, crushed OREO, and cheesecake bites Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Wave $10.50 Fluffy snow shave ice, creamy base layer of soft serve, condensed milk, fresh strawberries, & cheesecake bites Strawberry Mango Ice Wave $11.50 Fluffy snow shave ice, creamy base layer of soft serve, condensed milk, fresh strawberries and mangoes, & cereal Halo Halo $11.50 Snow shave ice, milk, sugar, coconut jelly, sugar palm (kaong), Frosted Flakes, and Ube soft serve. Note that it ain't ya momma / Lola / Tita's OG classic Halo Halo. My mother did NOT love this next gen version. Take them to Magnolia instead or you may never hear the end of it LMAO Personally I loved this bc it was heavy on the scrumptious Ube soft serve. But to each their own. Loved this spot on Dillingham so I had to come here when I saw it was next to where I was getting dinner. It's in the shopping center pretty close to Safeway, so there's lots of parking. The service was nice and really quick! I love their desserts here. The ice cream is so smooth and the ice is finely shaved. It makes this larger sized dessert seem so light! Some of the pineapples this time were a bit tough and flavorless but otherwise I'm super happy with the dessert! read more
Opened in Nov. 2021, owners Justine and Junior started Kawaii Ice Waves in Kalihi, which offers a form of bingsu with her own twist. (Bingsu is a traditional Korean shave ice dessert with sweet toppings that may include chopped fruits, condensed milk, fruit syrup, and/or red beans.) And because the desserts are so colorful and "cute," just as the interior of their shop, Kawaii is used in its name that refers to the culture of cuteness in Japan, such as Hello Kitty. Kawaii Ice Waves aptly describes its product. As Justine and Junior live in the HI Kai area, it was convenient for them to open a second location of Kawaii Ice Wave in HI Kai in Feb. 2023, serving the same menu items + exclusive milkshakes. They plan to further expand to the west side of the island. The small shop interior is bright, super clean, and colorful with Instagrammable photo ops of a green grass wall and a cool pink telephone booth decorated with roses and garlands of flowers. Pink walls, neon lights, a padded bench, and cute pastel pink and blue chairs adorn the shop and give it a nice ambiance. There are chairs inside and outside the store for you to comfortably eat your dessert, with the marina a few steps away to enjoy the view relaxing view. Justine was in the front, taking orders and payments, while staff was in the back, creating the delicious concoctions. She was very friendly and attentive, while taking the time to explain their sweets and answer any questions. I could see how excited she was with this business, as she was compassionate of their sweets that are creative and fills a niche in Honolulu. Wishing Justine and Junior much success in their business endeavor! Located in the Hawaii Kai Shopping Center, close to the marina, and next to HI Kai Nails & Spa and HI Kai Barber & Styling near Longs Drugs, look for the bright pink store. Free private parking is available in the shopping complex that is shared with other businesses. Hours of operation are: Mon to Fri 1p to 9p and Sat/Sun 11a to 9p. Credit cards are accepted. I saw this place before and wanted to try it but they were closed. But we were finally in the area when they were open. They are located in the back corner closest to the water. We got the mango lilikoi. It was delicious but with a hefty price tag I think it was over $15 with tax. Not sure if it's worth the price tag, but glad we got to try it. read more

Cute shop with ample parking. The young female shop manager was friendly. I was craving for a soft serve ice cream and this place didn't disappoint. I ordered an ube soft serve and a halo halo. I would highly recommend the soft serve. The price for the soft serve was decent at $6.00. I felt that the halo halo was missing some ingredients, such as a mini flan and fruits. It tasted more like a fusion halo halo. Anyway, I'd come back and try other desserts but thumbs up for the delicious soft serve :). read more
A new sweet shop opened up near my residence so of course I had to check it out! Apparently they're known for their unique shave ice desserts known as "ice waves". I had my eyes on another item, but will return again to try their signature ice wave. They're located in the Hawaii Kai Shopping Center near Island Brew and CVS, with lots of parking available in the shared lot. When I arrived in the early afternoon, I was the only customer there. I stepped into a very cute and pink environment, with a telephone booth IG prop and other cute decorative items. The 2 employees were in the back but suddenly came to the front when I stepped in. I ordered the dairy-free strawberry & vanilla swirl with fruity pebbles on top for $6. It was a generous amount and the dairy free ice cream was delicious! And how can you go wrong with fruity pebbles, amirite? I love that they have various toppings to choose from, especially a variety of cereals! In addition to the ice waves, which comes with fruit, condensed milk and shave ice, they also offer ice waves with cereal, sundaes and just shave ice. They even have halo halo! As the summer begins make its way (seriously where has the year gone?!) here, the days begin to get a little hot. One way to cool down is this shop filled with some delicious cold desserts. I'm so glad they opened up a second shop! This shop is located nearby Liko's and newly relocated Tex808 (perfect for dessert after visiting either restaurant if you ask me!). Because it is located around other shops and restaurants, there are ample parking for you. Though it is not as big as the other location, this place still has a lot of yummy treats for all to enjoy! For this adventure, I decided to stick to my Filipino roots and order the ube halo halo. This treat did not disappoint! It took me back to the childhood days where I didn't have to worry about these adult kind things like bills. Every bite was cool, sweet, squishy, and crunchy. It is also the best thing on the menu. I've had the soft serve and shave ice, but if you're going to add toppings on either one then you may as well just get an Ice Wave. The shop is small. If there are a couple of customers (read, groups) the place will look crowded. A heads up: If you don't feel like a 25-30 minute wait for something you'll finish in 10 is worthwhile, then avoid the weekend afternoon and hours right after the public schools are done - two sets of mommies (or worse, mommy AND clueless daddy) and the gaggle of kids ahead of you may drive you to the neighboring bars for some peace and sanity.
