Had the best pandan foam latte of my life thus far here! The cast iron egg skillet chorizo platter was also yummy, but smaller than expected from the picture on the menu + for $18.50. The workers were sweet and professional - asked me if I had any questions right as I went up to the register and the drinks/food came out in a timely manner. The tables are a little small for 2 people, but great if you're going solo. The wifi worked well. I do also like that they reserve tables "without laptops" which can be more enjoyable for people who want to eat/drink/socialize rather than work. Overall, would revisit! read more

Its a nice cafe. The coffee is good. But I dont get the hype. The staffs are friendly. Thats about it. The coffee is overpriced even for nyc standards. The coffee cups are small too. I came here on a Saturday where it was supposed to be open till 5pm. When I got in and ordered they didnt mention anything about the updated closing time. They kicked out all customers exactly at 3.30pm. Everyone were clueless. I would've gone elsewhere had they just given a head ups. It's not great when you charge me over $10 for a small cup of coffee and then kick me out 1.5hrs before closing time on a chilly day. read more

It's pretty difficult to find a coffee shop that isn't super crowded, but this place had several open tables on a weekday afternoon and I appreciated the high ceilings and it didn't feel too cramped inside! I ordered some seasonal matcha spritzer (don't remember the name) as well as a peach toast. The matcha wasn't too strong, but it was very refreshing! I actually loved the peach ricotta toast. The sourdough was thick, and the peach, ricotta, and bread ratio was perfect. Music wasn't too loud and restroom was clean! It's a great place to get some studying done. read more

Stopped in here for some matcha and reading and this was the best matcha I've had in a very long time! It was creamy and just the right amount of strong. Amazing. Got a raspberry donut and it was delicious too. Service is quick and friendly and there's ample seating. Five stars across the board for this place! I don't live that far from here but sometimes I gladly take a long walk just to get their exclusive ginger elixir drink. Although I'm a die-hard cold brew drinker, I'll allow an espresso if it's in a (mezcal) martini, a lemonade, OR in this ginger elixir drink. Yum! I also recently tried a sip of their Black Sesame Latte and that was cool (even though I loathe hot coffee drinks). For food, I LOVE their almond butter toast (which you can have on a croissant) and their match loaf. Those are the only things I've tried but their food menu is enticing and I plan to try some other things on my next visit. Besides the food and the drinks, Coffee Project has also been fantastic in it's layout. It has many tables and some bar seating but I've never felt like I was sitting too close to other people. I frequently have done small meetings with coworkers there and that's how this place became one of my favorite coffee shops. I love going there and would happily recommend it to anyone in that area looking for good food, coffee, or space to knock out a couple of computer-centric tasks. PS. They have outdoor bar seating when the weather's nice. I know, you didn't think this place could get any better but it just did lol. read more

I've come here a couple times for to-go orders and to sit down and work. The drinks are well done and I love the latte art they do (see photo). The staff are so kind and courteous as well. My gripe is that the space is quite tiny - classic NY - and as such some of the tables are jammed together. People wedge themselves through gaps to get around and trip over laptop charging cables. Sometimes, all tables are taken and a game of musical chairs ensues when a table frees up. Due to the scaffolding outside and the direction the building faces, the interior does not receive much natural light. For that reason I never stay long. Even by NY prices, the beverages here cost a pretty penny. The latte I got last time took me past $10 after tax, and keep in mind it's not that big. They charge $1 for decaf (I'm highly caffeine sensitive, sadly) and $1 for dairy-free. If you tend to ask for those two modifications, going here will eat your wallet fast. As great as the service is, I will go probably go elsewhere in the future to maintain an amicable relationship with my bank account, and come here on the occasions that I want to splurge. read more

It's usually pretty packed in this little spot in Fort Greene, but the staff is always friendly and fast! Great vibes with a surprisingly diverse menu. I'm not a coffee drinker, so I can't speak on that, but the Mushroom Toast was incredible - like nothing I've had before! I tried some of my friend's Egg Skillet Breakfast Platter which was great too. The coffee selection (from what I've been told) is unique and executed well. If you are looking for top-level third wave coffee look no further, this spot is taking things to a whole different level. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon and while the place wasn't empty, there was plenty of space to be comfortable. We sat at the tasting bar and ordered a few pour overs which were brewed with care right in front of us. Experimental roasts, single origin beans, baristas who truly care about the cup of coffee they create. It really doesn't get much better than this. Shout out to Peace who waited on us and was a wealth of knowledge regarding the beans and brewing process. I even took a bag home to experiment with on my Chemex. Currently my favorite coffee experience in NYC. If you love coffee, you can't go wrong here. read more

Coming to coffee project was a very random event. We were in the area and stopped in after checking Yelp for a "good cup of coffee". We thought "this place has great views. Tuh! Now, the lattes were good (not great). I felt like I was drinking more foam then actual coffee. The croissant was quite possibly the worst I've ever had. It was bland, not buttery and stale. The insides were not fluffy and soft like you'd imagine. $4.50 for cardboard. Lastly, $1.50 extra for oat milk is just ridiculous. Not even in a pickle would I ever spend my money here again. I used to frequent this location daily but found that the coffee wasn't the best, especially for the price. I thought to give them another try this morning before clocking into work. I ordered an iced pumpkin spice latte around 9:20 a.m. I got to my job, tried the beverage, and didn't like it. Due to that, I didn't even drink a quarter of the beverage. I told myself that I would return to the establishment upon finishing my shift at 3 p.m. I went back around 3:10 and waited to speak to the "lead barista" on duty. I explained to the barista that I didn't like my beverage and that I would like a refund. The response I received was that because I didn't come in within a few minutes of my purchase, I would not be able to receive a refund. It was also stated that it would look suspicious to management if they were to initiate the refund, and they would be questioned over it. I asked if they could contact management on my behalf and was told that they rarely come on location and that it would take several days for a response. They did offer to make another drink, but I had spent money on another coffee earlier in the day. I asked if I could get a coffee tomorrow in replacement of not getting a refund and was told that it would not be a guarantee because they may not remember me. To top it all off, they stated that "they just work here and that I have more rights as a customer as they do as an employee". It's frustrating that I was offered little to no solution for this issue. Due to that, I will not be returning to this establishment, and I would not encourage others to visit. read more

I had a taste for iced coffee and had planned on going to Dunkin Donuts but the particular one I went to was a fail--I pulled up the Yelp app and came across the Coffee Project and I happened to be close by. The location is under scaffolding, so you could miss it if not careful but once you walk in, it's super cute inside. I was greeted immediately and I ordered a cold brew. As I was waiting, I noticed the seating area--a lot of people working on their laptops, pretending to do work. My cold brew was good--albeit, I tab expensive but not a shock and not a deal breaker. I'm glad I came here instead of DD. If I'm in a treat myself mode, I'll go to the Coffee Project. read more

This will easily be a neighborhood coffee spot that I will return to over and over again. The coffee selection is broad and their food options are good. They have spacious indoor and outdoor seating which can be a rarity in the city. I got their drip coffee which was perfect, their almond blueberry muffin was quite good too and vegan as well. Everything is delicious but smaller than usual! For drinks, beware that the smallest size is much smaller than any other coffee shop I've ever visited. The coffee is great though and the hot chocolate is delicious as well. In terms of food, spinach croissant is flavorful and delicious. They allow guests to use the dining area and the tables are spread out to allow for social distancing. read more

I was in the area looking for a local coffee shop and saw this small, quaint but cute coffee shop on the other side of BAM. I like lattes and am down to try various flavors, especially when they make the flavored syrups in-house. There was a sign outside the coffee shop for three limited edition, winter flavors. One was a peppermint mocha, gingerbread latte, and a rose flavored espresso type drink. I usually like my coffee unsweetened, but occasionally crave a slightly sweet and flavored latte. I ordered a gingerbread latte with oat milk. If you're a ginger lover like I am, you will definitely love this drink! It has a strong gingery taste and is only slightly sweet. I would definitely get it again and would get it a little more often if the 12 oz latte wasn't $7.50. This place is definitely not cheap but if you feel like splurging on an occasional delicious latte, I would recommend it! read more

I have been to a coffee project before but I think that was Manhattan. Got a coffee and bought some whole beans and ended up really disappointed. However, I ended up here because I was at the end my rope, trying to find good WiFi to get some work done at a coffee shop that also had outlets. Researched it but either the WiFi was awful or there weren't as many outlets as the reviews claimed. Anyway, figured I may as well give coffee project another shot. Glad I did. Don't know if it's because it's really hidden or not in a busy area, but there were only a couple people here so that even though it's small, there were plenty of seats. Lack of crowd also meant the WiFi cooperated and I could finally get stuff done. As for the coffee, maybe it was a different roast this time or something, but this was much better. Just got a simple drip with oat milk but the coffee was strong and tasty. Happy I gave them another shot. read more

This is a great cafe and worth going out of your way to check out. The coffee is top notch, the employees are as friendly as you will find anywhere, and the space has a nice vibe which you feel in your bones as soon as you step inside. Coffee Project has something for everyone at a fair price. I had the house espresso and a pastry and it paired perfectly, but they also have more unique coffees/drinks that would be sure to satisfy even the geekiest of coffee aficionados amongst us. You can really tell that the whole team puts a lot of effort into sharing their craft and I hope we get to see more of them around soon! read more

This is such a cool spot. Stopped by after moving to NYC and wanted to find a local place where I could grab some fresh beans and a cup of coffee and I may have found it. The vibe inside is clean and minimalist, they have this corny light (see pictures) which just makes me laugh. There was some outdoor seating as well. Also had a no laptop area that looked like they did pour overs. Staff wasn't really helpful and kind of standoffish but I assume because they were busy? Idk. Drinks/food: Menu was pretty simple and your standard cafe drinks with higher quality ingredients (beans). Food options were sweeter pastries or egg salad va avocado on some type of bread. The egg salad was good and the bread was perfectly cooked, airy and crispy. I snagged a bag of beans as well, a bit on the pricier side ($16 for a blend, $22-24 avg for single origins). I've come here a number of times over the quarantine period and have always been impressed with their selection of drinks, their pastries, and their sandwiches. I recently stopped in mid-way through my boards for an avocado toast. The server remembered me by name and whipped it up for me right away. He recommended I try it on a toasted croissant and I was not disappointed. The toasted croissant took me straight back to my wanderings in Paris where the croissant is an art form. Flaky, buttery, and overall delicious, this was contrasted by the smooth mix of avocado, fresh cherry tomatoes, chili flakes, and sweet and salty feta cheese. For only 11 dollars, this is definitely my favorite way to have an avocado toast. I don't drink coffee but T.H. does and I've brought him a number of different coffees from here (straight black, cold brew, lattes, expressos, etc.) and he vouches for their excellent brewing techniques and flavor. Five stars on the first review because I've been here probably 5+ times since quarantine and have loved every meal I've gotten. Avocado toast on the toasted croissant is a must. Cheers! read more

Such a surprising spacious coffeeshop HIDDEN literally in the brick walls. The drink menu is extensive, covers all the basics with your espresso drinks and non-espresso drinks, but also they have a few fun options unique to their cafe. I didn't try them this time because they're iced drinks, but may be back for them! For food options, they have solid croissant sandwiches, quiches, as well as baked goods for your sweet cravings. Everything seems fresh, made daily. Lots of seating, plenty of outlets, they even have a space reserved for non-laptop users so people who just want to enjoy their drink can sit! I was one of those that camped out there for hours working and studying though. My only complaint? The spaces are slightly dirty, not well cleaned/maintained, and the service is inconsistent. read more
