Hands down the best latte I've ever had. I was working around the corner for a month and would go there every day for a latte and snack. I am by no means a person who needs coffee every day to function but this place kept drawing me back with their delicious brews and fantastic service. Everyone who i encountered that worked there was more than polite and kind, they weren't just robots taking your order and getting on with their day. A nice human interaction. There croissant sandwiches are more than serviceable and their selection of baked goods is always fantastic. But again, the coffee. Get it, drink it, never look back. In an attempt to go back to the roots of "coffee," this place makes you the most bitter drink you could imagine. The coffee is so burnt and bitter it almost made me question if the milk was sour. They almost tasted of vomit. I had a regular latte and my partner the cream soda. Personally the cream soda drink would be FANTASTIC if it had butterscotch simple syrup added in. My partner did not enjoy it though. I never write reviews because I feel mean so I will say what I did like! The staff was kind, the avocado toast while VERY overpriced for what it is was great, I loved the feta. A small and cute cafe! They offer a unique coffee experience by separating the ingredients in their coffee and espresso drinks into individual glasses. This allows you to visualize each step of the preparation process. We ordered Nitro Flight and Deconstructed Coffee. The deconstructed coffee was beautiful. I didn't realize that they would put a latte art on top. Definitely recommend! The interior is small in a cute way, which adds to the cozy feeling you get when enjoying hot coffee on on a cold day. The music also added to the effect. It was enjoyable and something everyone might like. I give the service and staff a 5/5 and the atmosphere a 4.5/5. The drink itself was pretty much how you would expect from a deconstructed coffee. Personally, I like espresso or coffee that varies in taste from one place to another. Not sure if this place was always around...but I finally got to check out the Brooklyn location. I've had the deconstructed latte in the Manhattan location before so I went for a regular latte and their avocado croissant. It was early on a Sunday and I was still dazed from the evening before. The staff at the front was super nice and patient with me. After my order I sat down with a friend at the long community high-chair tables. There were also the regular short tables available as well. My croissant tasted so delicious with the avocado spread. The iced latte was also delicious and paired well, though i'm sure a regular drip coffee would have done just fine. Overall loved the vibe and space. Great place to meet for coffee or do work. Would recommend coming back! read more

YASSSSSSSS love this place. There are a number of good coffee shops in the 0.5 mile radius of Coffee Project but I still think it stands out. My favorites are the nitro cold brew and regular cold brew. They have this natural chocolate-y taste which is distinctive and very delicious. Pair it with one of their croissant sandwiches -- I like the egg salad one a lot. YUMMM! The baristas are also the sweetest people. So definitely pay them a visit if you're in the area! read more

One of my favorite coffee shops in Manhattan has made its way to Ft. Greene. Superb coffee made by people who are passionate about their craft. Most recently tried their nariño brewed in their steampunk machine, and it was amazing. The space seems much larger than their EV space, with high ceilings, a long communal table and multiple smaller round tables. They have free wifi, and designated spots where you're allowed to use your laptop (and not). If you're looking for a quick grab&go coffee, probably would head elsewhere, but if you want a cup of joe to be enjoyed and appreciated, definitely worth a stop at Coffee Project. read more

I have been to many a coffee establishment and used many to-go cups in my time, and as a perpetually on-the-go person I have also experienced my fair share of coffee splashing back at me, dripping, leaking etc. it's always an unfortunate experience. If you want amazing coffee, then go to Coffee Project. If you want fast coffee, you can still go here, but don't order any of the super fancy stuff. Super fancy like the deconstructed latte, which knocked my socks off. It comes with a tiny shot of espresso, a tiny glass of steamed milk (pasteurized at low temperature to maintain a nice sweetness), and then a full latte with a glass of water and a waffel cracker on the side. The whole point is that once you try the two individual ingredients, it'll help you taste the nuances in the mixed final product. And it definitely works! At only $7, it's a hell of a deal. They could charge twice as much for this experience (but don't tell them that!). They also sell pastries from Roberta's. I grabbed a sourdough croissant, which was great with coffee. The staff is super friendly. The space is nice and modern (check out the bathroom!). And they have designated laptop spaces so you can spend the day there if you wanted. read more

It's worth the hype. I've been to the EV one but didn't get to sit inside because it was too cramped. I went for the deconstructed latte this time ($8) which included a fresh shot of espresso, steamed milk (WOOAH that was underrated) and a nicely sized latte with a little sweet waffle treat on the side (not sure what those are called). Also some sparkling water to refresh the palette. The barista brought it over and explained to drink it left to right in order to enjoy the taste of the latte more. We went Sunday around 10:30 and there were a few open tables. It was also pouring so I'm sure it's probably more crowded usually. All their stuff looked so good. I'll be back. read more

Love this place for their Avocado toast but the service was eh. The blond haired girl at the counter was off to the side talking to her friend meanwhile there was a line of 4 people waiting. In the event that I would ever be in a rush and see her there I would not want to obtain service from her because it doesn't seem like she does much & takes her sweet time, like we aren't in NYC and this is a city where we are always on the go. I felt bad for the guy working with her as he was doing all the work. Even if she is a manager you should still assist you staff. Finally another coffee project and one I can sit at!! The one in EV is always waayy to packed compared to this one. Just like the original everyone who works here has a passion for coffee and it shows. I ordered the __ steam punk and was not disappointed. Hopefully my pictures show just how completely amazing this setup is. If you want a great cup of coffee or want to try something new, the deconstructed latte and now the steam punk are always winners. They don't have many seats maybe 15, but I haven't seen it overly crowded like the EV one. read more

Yes! Five stars. Coffee shops pay attention! This is how it's done. First, I am greeted with a smile on my way up to the counter. Such warmth. And then he asked me what would I like to drink. And I realized this was an experience not a race. Unfortunately, my indecisive Libra moon kicked in and I couldn't decide. Barista to the rescue (and he definitely has earned that title). He asks me several pointed questions, gently, to help me along the way, and when he said 'how about a cortado,' I thought perfection! That was it! And the coffee. Full-bodied, smooth and earthy, but not too. The cortado was so creamy and smooth, especially with the almond milk. I savored it all the way home. And all I could think about during the entire trip home was how to justify another trip into downtown BK so I could have that experience that again. read more

Love it! Pour over coffees, teas made on the steampunk machines. Affogatos, espresso drinks, and things like red eye are also available! No decaffeinated espresso only decaf drip. A small but good selection of pastries, sandwiches (made to order) too. The coffee is definitely 3rd wave. There's the traditional flavor profiles available (chocolate), or my favorite, the more bright and fruity African coffees. They rotate their coffees fairly often, something new and fun each time I'm there. The manager really cares about the quality of the coffee (enthusiastic and knowledgeable). The space itself is not huge but there is a bathroom and a communal table along with about 6 or so individual tables. There are also 4 seats by where they make the pour overs. Those seats are strictly no laptop, there are signs for no laptop on a few of the other tables as well. The interior of this location is minimalistic and clean. Its atmosphere is perfect to get some work done or just to catch up with a friend. They have a few individual round tables and one large table in the middle. We tried their deconstructed coffee ($7) and it was such a cool experience! You get to try espresso and the warm pasteurized milk individually, which you can taste the distinct flavors. The staff there were extremely friendly and professional! They explained every part of the deconstructed coffee to us and recommended which part to start with. They were very knowledgeable in explaining to us where they source their coffee beans and milk from. Now that this location is more convenient for me, I'll definitely be here more often. read more

This is by far the best coffee shop I've been to in Downtown Brooklyn. Everything about this cute coffee is perfect. I'm thrilled to see Coffee Project NY in Brooklyn because I never had a chance to visit the East Village location. I always wanted to check this place out but the East Village location is usually cramped with college students (like me). This place, in contrast, has so much more space and are not too busy!! First, I love how bright this place is. The decor is clean and modern. There is a long table, but not too wide, for those working people with laptops. The lower tables are perfect for those who want to hang out with friends or read books. The Coffee Project is an expert in NYC coffee space, and it's evident as soon as I walked into the store. It offers a wide range of coffees and brewing method. The signature menu includes so many unique brews such as the Nitro Set and the deconstructed latte. Both looked so tempting but I wanted to get a croissant so I went with the less extraordinary drink. I had an almond latte - I know, so basic, but it's my go-to drink whenever I have to study. My almond latte always tasted so much richer than the regular milk coffee. It was so creamy and delicious!! The milk foam on top was so thick. The coffee overall was not watery. The pastries selection were also very attractive. I love croissants and have a high expectation for this type of pastry. At this cafe, my addiction for croissant was satisfied. The Coffee Project NY sells sourdough croissants from Roberta's, including the classics like Pain Au Choclat, Almond Croissant, and Plain. But it also makes it own croissant sandwich, both savory (avo mash, cheese and ham, egg) and sweet (almond butter and banana, dark chocolate banana and honey) etc. Just thinking about those pastries makes me so happy already. I only had a chocolate croissant because I wanted to test out the croissant quality first. The croissant was very flaky but soft inside. However, it was not very buttery. Instead, I could feel a bitter aftertaste after each bite. I'd say that the croissant here tastes more like bread and less like a dessert. Which is completely fine since Coffee Project then stuffs a lot of food inside anyway. My croissant had a generous amount of dark and mildly sweet chocolate chunks. I've never had any chocolate croissant with that much chocolate inside. It was such an unexpected treat so me since I only wanted something light to study hehe. Will I return to this place? 100% yes. Next time I'd invite a friend with me so we can share their specialty drinks. I think that those drinks are more suitable to share with another friend because they double the serving portion. But you can have one just for yourselves, if you're a caffein-addict or you need that extra kick to concentrate on your work for a long time. read more

I was so happy to stumble back upon coffee project after I moved to BK. Coffee project is my favorite coffee place in NY, I used to go all the time when I was in the east village area. The owners are always in store friendly, attentive and willing to explain how everything works! They are the sweetest! As for the coffee, it is like $1/$2 more expensive than traditional chains however this is a smaller business, expect it. Although the prices arent cheap it's worth it because all of their drinks are special! My favorite is the deconstructed lattee or the happy drink :) I keep coming back because the owners are so kind and I always bring friends here when we are in the area. I was happy to see that this location was much more spacious than the east village one! read more

I think this new location is an appropriate manifestation of the company's name - this isn't just a coffee shop, it's an experience. I don't think any other shop in the city is brewing on as wide a spectrum of equipment as they do (Ground Control, Steampunk, Synesso MVP, V60 or Chemex for pour-over) so get ready to have at least three coffees here if it's a destination visit. If you live or work in the area, you are incredibly fortunate to have all this to enjoy at your leisure. If none of the equipment mentions make any sense to you, ask the staff. There is a lot more attention to detail in their brewing and they are more than happy to teach you about coffee without making you feel silly. This place truly is as good as it gets. I'd been to the East Village location once and enjoyed a delicious deconstructed latte that, while a bit on the pricy side, was a fantastic experience. When I learned they'd be opening up a spot in Brooklyn, right near where I work, I was extremely excited! I have to say that I usually get a bit tired of any given coffee shop after going there a few times -- I like to mix it up and try different places, just for variety's sake. I love tasting different kinds of espresso and cold brew and seeing who can make the best iced cortado. But I have made Coffee Project a staple of my weekly routine. The baristas are top notch. They all truly care about the product and the customer. The whole crew isn't that big, so they all work frequently ad get to know you fast. They learned my name the first time I was there, and always greet me with a smile. No matter who has made my drink or what drink I get, it's always delicious. This place is currently the best kept secret in Brooklyn, as it's never too busy (I've sometimes had the place all to myself) and there's enough seating so that it still feels like you have your own space even with a dozen other people also hanging out there.
