This place has the best coffee in chico by far. Both hot and cold drinks are amazing and you can actually taste the coffee beans. They aren't hidden behind sugar and fake flavors which is the case at other coffee shops in town. Had been by this place many times. Just never stopped in. Always went to DB. Wife and I finally went to give them a try. Glad that we did. Absolutely great coffee and people. We have since been 5 or 6 times. We do not go out for coffee as much as we used to do but when we do this is now where we go. Keep up the great job. read more

This cafe is very clean and makes a great cup of coffee. I have ordered the Double Danger from the drive through on my way to work several times, and it is always consistently made, and well balanced. They make a wonderful breve latte also. The burritos are good for a quick breakfast. Fresh baked cookies are awesome. They even make their own marshmallows! read more

My experience with this establishment is that it's management is appalling. The owner seems distant and fake when greeting people, and baristas often have trouble recognizing when a customer has been waiting. Personally I would not recommend visiting here, with soiled, uneven food servings and unwashed cups. The baristas also wrote in Expo marker on a plate and then served the food on the same dish. The owner seems ill-equipped with the responsibility of watching over the other workers, and they all seemed tense and unhappy. New management would probably turn all these problems around. read more

I only had coffee this morning, which was exceptional. I'm giving Coffee Ranch 5 stars for the customer service. I was greeted by two girls first thing in the morning with kindness and just overall welcoming vibe. Every customer was welcomed the same way. However, there was a gentleman that came in the required a lot of patience and the girl at the counter dealt with him with exceptionally. Kinda rare to find that kind of customer service. I love, love the coffee ranch in every way except for 1 thing! The 1 miserable bitch that is never in a good mood. She unfortunately works more than anyone else so she basically serves me every time I go which ruins my morning! I think she hates me personally because I order a smoothie like once every other week and tip every time!. Uumm, isn't it on your menu and isn't that your job to make it without an attitude??? I worked in the service industry for a long time and normally hate yelp but I'm pissed! This last visit was my breaking point! She completely overflowed my smoothie to the point where its now all over me and my car and now I'm at work!! I almost go in an accident trying to keep it from getting everywhere! The service is up and down. Sometimes you get a happy helpful employee and sometimes you get a really grumpy annoyed employee. Never know what to expect when I walk through the door. The outside patio is the main reason I come , especially when the suns out I still go even knowing that it might be one of the bad days, 2 stars. read more

I am a coffee snob. Like, a snobby snob. I don't like whatever-spiced mocha-junk-blended lattes, I don't specify how much "foam" I want, syrup is gross, low-fat milk is for whimps, and I order my drink based on the classic milk-to-espresso ratio (i.e. machiatto, cappuccino, latte) not BS Italian corporate-speak (i.e. grande, vent, trenti). I can smell burnt espresso across the room, and my coffee better have been roasted within a week of me ordering it. There,I think with that we've established how I feel about most coffee available in chico. No apologies for high standards. Frankly, I rather order an iced tea than sip on most of the junk available at "espresso" shops in the area. Unfortunately, not many share my sentiments, otherwise Coffee Ranch would have a line out the door most mornings. The food is nice. Not a destination meal, but something scrumptious to pair with the drinks. I especially enjoy the quiches & cookies, made in-house (as opposed to the burritos they order from another company). I've had the jasmine green iced tea w/ extra jasmine syrup on three occasions now; if you enjoy floral tea it is absolutely refreshing. But here's what really maters: the coffee. The iced coffee was great. Cold-brewed, not drip-coffee that's been in the fridge or an americano on ice. It was nutty and almost chocolatey- not the fruity citrus flavor Im used to for iced coffee but I enjoyed it. I also saw recently that it was rated best in Chico by "Sythesis Weekly". During my first experience, I noticed they served a gibraltar- what relief! The esoteric and elusive middle-child of espresso drinks, the gibraltar exist humbly between the machiatto and the cappuccino- it lacks the milky smoothness of the latter but doesn't quite possess the one-gulp jolt of the former. However, this hybrid (the brainchild of Blue Bottle's James Freeman, no less!) outperforms it's siblings on either side. Served as a double shot in a beautiful four-ounce glass, the gibraltar has enough espresso to give it (and me) an edge, but enough micro foam to keep me sipping. The one I ordered from Coffee Ranch did not disappoint, and it's presence on the menu was like a wry wink at those of us who truly enjoy coffee: the doggy play area and bright decor are for the yuppies & starbucks converts, but this, this is for us. Coffee Ranch gets us. Im excited to have discovered this gem, especially after noticing Naked Lounge's espresso going downhill (when did they change the beans??). Coffee Ranch is Definitely some of the best coffee in Chico. read more

I really enjoyed this coffee house while visiting Chico. I came here two days in a row and loved their Maple Glazed Latte as well as their chai. The staff is nice and professional, the place is clean and well decorated. Coffee Ranch is a favorite. I love the Maple Glazed Latte and the strawberry parfait is delicious. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Got the cinnabon latte and it was so yummy with pretty latte art! The interior is beautiful, nice and clean. What is really cool is they have a little outdoor area for dogs with a water bowl. If you don't have time to go inside they have a drive thru. I will definitely be back here again! read more
